Chapter 9: Return to the Mu Family Ancestral Home

Xia Fanxing actually regretted it the moment she handed over the medication, but taking care of Mu Hanchen had become a habit for many years, one she momentarily forgot.

It seems she needs to break this habit as soon as possible.

Xia Fanxing's hand hurt from Mu Hanchen's grip, and she involuntarily struggled, "Eat it if you love it."

Mu Hanchen, seeing that the usual eager concern was gone from Xia Fanxing's eyes, somewhat irritably let go of her hand.

He picked up the tablet from the table and put it directly into his mouth, without even drinking water.

Xia Fanxing had also taken that stomach medication before, it worked very well but was a bit bitter, was it okay for Mu Hanchen to eat it so directly?

Forget it, whether it tastes bitter to him or not, it's none of her concern anymore.

His moon goddess would care for him in the future.

She didn't need to worry herself at all.

At this moment, Wang Xi suddenly came forward and whispered to Mu Hanchen, "President Mu, your lunch order has arrived. Would you like to dine now?"

Mu Hanchen nodded, "Bring it over, I'll eat now."

Xia Fanxing frowned slightly, "President Mu, isn't it okay if we finish discussing matters before we eat?"

She couldn't rest easy until they settled the divorce.

However, Mu Hanchen said indifferently, "I have a poor stomach, I must eat. Can't Miss Xia even wait that little bit of time?"

Xia Fanxing held back, "Fine, you eat. I'll wait."

No sooner had her words fallen, the meal Mu Hanchen had ordered was brought in.

Two large boxes of food.

Xia Fanxing was curious when Mu Hanchen's appetite had become so large.

Then one after another, the delicacies from the boxes were set up.

Upon closer inspection, Xia Fanxing realized it was Japanese cuisine.

The lunch was indeed sumptuous.

Unnoticeably, she also grew hungry.

Xia Fanxing turned her head and said to Tang Mei, "Sister, let's go have lunch too."

Tang Mei nodded; she wasn't initially hungry, but the sight of Mu Hanchen's spread whetted her appetite.

Just as the two were about to leave, Mu Hanchen suddenly spoke with a deep voice, "Wang Xi, take Lawyer Tang to the company's canteen for a meal. It's a long way to come, don't let her starve."

Wang Xi gestured to Tang Mei, "Lawyer Tang, please follow me."

Tang Mei glanced at Xia Fanxing beside her, "Fanxing, should I go?"

Xia Fanxing realized Mu Hanchen probably wanted to talk to her alone and nodded, "Go ahead, Sister. The staff meals are quite decent."

Only then did Tang Mei follow Wang Xi out.

Now in the vast office, only two people remained, making it seem somewhat empty.

Mu Hanchen stood up and went to the Japanese cuisine, handing Xia Fanxing a pair of chopsticks, "It's from the place you like. Eat."

Xia Fanxing paused slightly. How did he know which Japanese food she liked?

Though puzzled, she still took them, "Thank you."

Xia Fanxing took a bite of sushi; it was indeed from the place she loved, and she unknowingly ate a good half of it.

Meanwhile, Mu Hanchen had only eaten a little.

Clearly, it wasn't to his taste.

Was it ordered for her?

But why? They were about to divorce. What was he trying to do by treating her like this all of a sudden?

Xia Fanxing felt an inexplicable irritation.

Having eaten enough, she once again brought up the topic of divorce, "The meal is done, can we now talk about the divorce?"

Mu Hanchen's expression visibly darkened, and just as he was about to say something, his phone suddenly rang.

Seeing the caller ID, he answered directly, "Grandma, yes, I know. I'll bring her back to the old mansion in a while."

Hearing this, Xia Fanxing's heart tightened.

Who was Mu Hanchen planning to take back to the old mansion?

Was it his moon goddess, Liang Chuchu?

Mu Hanchen hung up the phone and looked towards Xia Fanxing, "Grandma said she has something very important to see us about. I've agreed. If you don't want to go, it's fine."

Xia Fanxing still had strong affection for his grandparents.

They had been very kind to her from when they got married to the present.

If she told them now that she wanted to get a divorce from Mu Hanchen, it would be too big a blow for them.

"I'll go, but let's not tell them about our divorce for now."

"As you wish."

It seemed that the divorce between her and Mu Hanchen would have to be put on hold for now.

Xia Fanxing greeted Tang Mei and then followed Mu Hanchen to the Mu Family's old mansion.

Upon entering, they saw the grey-haired Grandma Mu walking over with a cane, who immediately hugged Xia Fanxing, "You're finally here, grandma's precious granddaughter-in-law. I've missed you to death."

Xia Fanxing used to take time every week to visit Grandpa Mu and Grandma Mu.

But recently, she had been discussing the divorce with Mu Hanchen and had agreed to help Su Yajun, so she had called ahead to inform Grandma Mu that she was busy and couldn't visit every week anymore.

Although Grandma Mu said it was fine, her voice betrayed a sense of loss.

However, Xia Fanxing had no choice.

Once she really divorced Mu Hanchen, she would no longer have the right to visit them at the old mansion...

Xia Fanxing also hugged Grandma Mu, saying with reluctance, "Grandma, I've missed you too."

Mu Hanchen stood at the doorway, watching the embrace between the old and the young, finding it warm yet amusing.

Clearly, he was Grandma Mu's own grandson, yet she didn't even spare him a glance.

Xia Fanxing didn't notice someone behind her was envious of her, but instead, smiling looked at Grandma Mu, "By the way, Grandma, what's the important matter that you wanted to see us for urgently?"

Grandma Mu took Xia Fanxing's hand, casting a glance at Mu Hanchen who stood at the door, "Come, Fanxing, let's talk inside."
