Lin Rou Rou

Entering the ward, Ye Qian saw that his father had already woken up. Carrying the water, Ye Qian walked over and said, "Dad, you're awake. Let me wash you."

"I'll do it," Lin Rou Rou said as she took the towel from Ye Qian. She skillfully soaked it in the water, wrung it out, and carefully wiped Ye Qian's father's face.

"Thank you!" Ye Qian said, feeling a bit at a loss. His father also thanked her repeatedly. Such meticulous care was something he had never experienced in the hospital before. In the past, whenever he was sick and came to the hospital, the nurses and doctors would look at him with disdain and disgust. They would never, like this little nurse, proactively help him wash his face.

Such gentle, virtuous, and respectful young women were rare nowadays. Ye Qian, who didn't have a girlfriend, thought it would be great if he could pursue this little nurse. His father, catching on, raised his eyebrows and pursed his lips. Ye Qian understood his father's meaning and couldn't help but smile helplessly.

"All done!" Lin Rou Rou said. "You haven't had breakfast yet, have you? There's a cafeteria in the hospital where you can buy breakfast. Grandpa, what would you like to eat? I'll get it for you." Though she was talking to his father, her eyes couldn't help but glance at Ye Qian.

His father laughed happily and said, "What a kind child. No need, I usually don't eat in the morning."

"That's not good. Skipping breakfast can hurt your stomach," Lin Rou Rou insisted. "How about I get you some porridge and buns?" She then looked at Ye Qian and asked, "What about you? What would you like?"

Before Ye Qian could speak, his father quickly gave him a look. Ye Qian understood and, smiling helplessly, said, "I'll go with you."

Lin Rou Rou glanced at Ye Qian and smiled sweetly.

After they left the ward, his father watched Lin Rou Rou's back and sighed, "What a wonderful child. If only she were my daughter-in-law."

"Thank you for last night," Ye Qian said as he handed the doctor's coat back to Lin Rou Rou.

Lin Rou Rou smiled slightly, then said seriously, "You're welcome. But no more drinking in the hospital. Besides, Grandpa is still injured; you shouldn't let him drink."

Ye Qian was stunned and, surprisingly, obediently replied, "There won't be a next time. I promise."

Lin Rou Rou seemed pleased with Ye Qian's response and continued, "My name is Lin Rou Rou. What's yours?"

"Ye Qian."

"Oh!" Lin Rou Rou didn't know how to continue the conversation, so she just responded softly. Ye Qian, having never had a serious relationship, usually dealt with women who were either working women or bold mercenary killers. Now, faced with such a pure and kind girl, he felt a bit at a loss, not knowing what to say.

At that moment, Ye Qian's phone rang, breaking the awkward silence. He hurriedly said, "Excuse me, I need to take this call." He answered the phone, listened for a moment, and then responded a few times before hanging up.

Seeing Ye Qian's hesitant expression, Lin Rou Rou said, "Do you have something to do? If so, go ahead. I'll take care of Grandpa."

Ye Qian didn't refuse and said, "Thank you. I'll be back soon. I really appreciate it."

"Don't mention it. Go take care of your business. I'll look after Grandpa," Lin Rou Rou said.

Lin Rou Rou, who had been working the night shift, should have been off duty by now. She was tired after a sleepless night, but she still decided to help Ye Qian's father. Watching Ye Qian leave, Lin Rou Rou stood there in a daze, not knowing what she was thinking.

"Hey, Rou Rou, why haven't you gone off duty yet?" another nurse asked, approaching her. Seeing her gaze following Ye Qian, the nurse teased, "Oh, our Rou Rou is lovestruck. Who is he? He must be some handsome young man to catch your eye."

"Stop talking nonsense. You're the one who's lovestruck," Lin Rou Rou retorted playfully. "I have to go to the cafeteria."

Ye Qian hadn't expected to get news about the man who injured his father so soon. He had to admire the bartender named Little Dragon Girl. The call had been from her, giving him the address of the nouveau riche who had hurt his father. She had also tried to ask him out for dinner and dancing, but Ye Qian had just responded a few times before hanging up, leaving her feeling dissatisfied. However, knowing that Ye Qian still owed her the remaining balance, she felt reassured. Smiling slyly, she said, "I'll definitely win you over."

She wasn't worried that Ye Qian wouldn't pay her the remaining balance. It was an unwritten rule; no one wanted trouble. Just like when Ye Qian took on mercenary jobs, clients had to pay a deposit first and the rest after the job was done. No client had ever refused to pay the balance because they didn't want trouble either.

Arriving at the gate of Qianjiang Garden, Ye Qian stopped. According to Little Dragon Girl, the nouveau riche Zeng Dafu lived in building C. Smirking coldly, Ye Qian walked towards the gate.

"What are you here for?" the security guard at the gate asked.

"I'm here to see someone," Ye Qian replied.

"Who?"

"Zeng Dafu, in building C," Ye Qian answered, giving the name Little Dragon Girl had provided.

The security guard stared at Ye Qian for a while, trying to read his expression. But Ye Qian remained calm, showing nothing. The guard handed Ye Qian a pen and said, "Sign in."

Ye Qian didn't object. He scribbled a random name and ID number. The guard couldn't verify them anyway; it was just a formality. After a quick glance, the guard opened the gate and let Ye Qian in.

Arriving at building C, Ye Qian looked up and saw a fat man on the balcony with a petite woman. The woman, wearing only underwear, was engaged in intimate activities with the fat man, who was casually draped in a bathrobe. The petite woman was kneeling in front of the fat man, her head moving back and forth. Ye Qian didn't need to see to know what they were doing.
