One won't shed tears until one sees the coffin.

When Ye Qian entered the ward, he saw that there were some fruits and gifts on the bedside table, which surprised him. He then learned that it was Zeng Dafu, the man who had injured his father, who had just visited and apologized to his father in person, and compensated for his medical and nutritional expenses. Ye Qian nodded slightly; he wasn't the type to be unreasonably vengeful. Although Zeng Dafu was at fault, he had acknowledged and rectified his mistake. Going after Zeng Dafu was only to seek justice for his father, and the compensation wasn't Ye Qian's main concern. Since the man had sincerely apologized, Ye Qian decided not to pursue the matter further. Moreover, his father kept advising him to let it go, worried that Ye Qian might cause more trouble, so he agreed. His father was old and shouldn't have to worry about him anymore.

After chatting with his father in the hospital for a while, Ye Qian decided to find a job to settle down temporarily. With a formal job, his father could rest assured. Driving the impounded Honda Fit just outside the hospital, he was stopped by a group of people. Ye Qian glanced at them; it was the same group of thugs from the theft gang he had injured yesterday. Seeing at least thirty people in a menacing group, Ye Qian smiled slightly, realizing they were here for revenge.

He stepped out of the car, looked at them, and asked nonchalantly, "So, you've prepared the money already?"

The gang leader, Li Dong, who had been injured yesterday, glared at Ye Qian hatefully and waved his hand, ordering, "Beat him to death!"

Ye Qian chuckled coldly; it seemed he had been too lenient yesterday. These people didn't know pain and were truly the kind who wouldn't shed a tear without seeing a coffin. Facing the group armed with steel pipes and machetes, Ye Qian shook his head, thinking the best way to deal with them was to fight fire with fire; not intimidating them thoroughly would only lead to endless trouble. With this in mind, Ye Qian didn't hesitate and stepped forward to meet them.

Seeing Ye Qian not only show no fear but actually advance towards them, Li Dong was shocked, wondering if this guy was not afraid of death at all.

For a mercenary used to strapping his life to his belt, Ye Qian truly was fearless, especially since these street thugs posed no lethal threat to him. Ye Qian's skills were among the top in the Wolftooth mercenary group, where even soldiers from the American SEALs and the Russian Spetsnaz couldn't last more than a few rounds against him, let alone these untrained, blood-untested thugs.

Ye Qian was like a tiger descending the mountain, moving and striking with agility. The sound of agonized cries filled the air as those who got close to Ye Qian ended up with broken arms or cracked ribs, falling to the ground completely unable to fight back. Li Dong then realized why Ye Qian was so calm in the face of such a large group; he was utterly fearless and didn't regard them as a threat at all. Li Dong became scared, doubting whether his decision to confront Ye Qian was right or wrong.

Before long, all the thugs Li Dong had brought were lying on the ground, wailing in pain. Ye Qian slightly curved the corners of his mouth, picked up a machete from the ground, and slowly walked towards Li Dong.

"Demon!" The word flashed through Li Dong's mind; he didn't know how else to describe Ye Qian. Watching Ye Qian approach, Li Dong was so terrified that he couldn't move his legs. Although he was a player on the streets, he was just a fringe figure at best, not comparable to real gangsters. He could bully honest people with a little power, but facing a terrifying figure like Ye Qian, he was only capable of fear.

"You... don't come any closer!" Li Dong said nervously.

Ye Qian gave a slight smile, showing his characteristic sinister grin, and said lightly, "Didn't I tell you yesterday to bring money to redeem your car? Did you take it as just wind past your ears?"

Li Dong couldn't mistake Ye Qian's smile as a friendly gesture; it was clearly the smile of a demon. Overwhelmed by intense fear, Li Dong's legs gave out, and he knelt down, slapping his own face while pleading, "Big brother, it's my fault. I was blind and failed to recognize a great man. Please spare my life. The money... I'll give it to you right away."

"You really are asking for it, aren't you? If you had brought the money earlier, wouldn't all this have been avoided?" Ye Qian said disdainfully. "But since you came for revenge, I must take some interest, right?"

Seeing the evil smile on Ye Qian's face, Li Dong sweated profusely and even wet himself. Ye Qian kicked him to the ground, stepped on his left hand, grabbed Li Dong's right hand with both of his, and twisted hard. With a "crack," Li Dong's arm hung limp, and he screamed like a pig, rolling on the ground in agony. He truly regretted provoking Ye Qian; the young man in front of him was not human, but a devil, a fiend from hell.

Used to life and death, Ye Qian showed no reaction to Li Dong's screams. His expression unchanged, he said calmly, "I'll give you one more chance. If you're interested in continuing this game, I'll accompany you to the end. Did you hear me clearly?"

Continue this game? Even if Li Dong had ten times the courage, he wouldn't dare. His greatest wish now was to get as far away from this devil as possible, never to see him again. Hearing Ye Qian's words, Li Dong kept saying, "Big brother, I dare not. I will never dare again. I will definitely pay you on time tomorrow."

Ye Qian nodded in satisfaction and said, "Good, I'll be waiting." Then, Ye Qian turned and walked back to his car, started it, and sped away. Since it wasn't his car, Ye Qian drove at 170 km/h, ignoring all traffic lights along the way.

Driving aimlessly through the streets, Ye Qian passed by a company's entrance and noticed a recruitment notice posted at the gate. The notice read: "Security guard wanted, male, aged 20 to 30, veterans preferred, monthly salary 1,400 to 1,800."

Security work seemed like a decent job. Ye Qian muttered to himself and smiled slightly. He parked the car by the roadside and walked towards the building. After all, he was applying for a security position; he couldn't just drive straight in, as that might make others see him as a monster.
