Ye Qian seems to have really good luck. Perhaps it's because young people nowadays don't like to work as security guards, considering it a job with no future and low wages. Therefore, when Ye Qian came for the interview, the security team leader only asked a few casual questions before hiring him, asking him to bring a copy of his ID and three passport-sized photos the next day to register and start work.

Ye Qian, appearing very grateful, kept offering cigarettes to the security team leader, Zheng Xin, and said words like, "Please take good care of me in the future." Seeing how tactful Ye Qian was, Zheng Xin nodded with satisfaction, putting on an air of leadership and told Ye Qian to report on time the next morning.

Now with a formal job, his father should be able to rest easy. After repeatedly thanking them, Ye Qian turned and left. Although he wasn't too impressed with his future boss, the security team leader, there was no reason to stoop to his level since the man hadn't offended him.

After aimlessly wandering the streets for half a day and realizing it was almost evening, Ye Qian remembered his date with Lin Rourou and hurried back.

When he reached the hospital entrance, he saw Lin Rourou standing there from a distance. She was wearing a pure white dress, looking like a fairy fallen to earth, fresh and lovely. Parking the car in front of Lin Rourou, Ye Qian stepped out, glanced at her attire, and said with a slight smile, "You look very beautiful today."

"Thank you!" Lin Rourou said gently. Any woman hopes her appearance is appreciated by the one she loves, and Lin Rourou was no exception. She was delighted to hear Ye Qian's compliment.

Ye Qian opened the car door and made a gentlemanly gesture, saying, "Beautiful miss, may I invite you to dinner?"

Lin Rourou smiled sweetly and got into the car.

While driving, Lin Rourou curiously asked, "Is this your car?"

Shaking his head, Ye Qian smiled slightly and replied, "No, it's a friend's. I borrowed it for a few days. Where shall we eat?"

Lin Rourou was not the kind of girl who is greedy for wealth and superficial vanity, so she wasn't upset upon hearing that the car wasn't Ye Qian's. In her view, what mattered more was Ye Qian himself, not whether he had a car or money. "I know a Western restaurant with good steaks," Lin Rourou suggested.

The restaurant was named "Romance," styled after medieval European decor, looking quite romantic from the outside. Ye Qian had eaten plenty of Western food, but he still found Chinese food more comfortable to eat. It wasn't because he was a nationalist; he just found Western dining too restrictive compared to the carefree environment of a Chinese diner. However, since Lin Rourou liked it, Ye Qian wouldn't object.

After parking, Ye Qian opened the car door for Lin Rourou. She gracefully linked her arm through Ye Qian's as they walked towards the restaurant. The greeter saw them coming and politely asked, "How many, sir?"

"Two," Ye Qian replied, a bit annoyed.

"Do you have a reservation?" the host asked politely.

"No!" Ye Qian was getting impatient. It was just dinner, but it felt like an interrogation. If not for Lin Rourou being there, he might have cursed out loud.

"Oh! Please follow me," the host gestured invitingly, opened the restaurant door for them, and led them inside.

The restaurant's decor was simple yet elegant, with soft music playing in the background. The clientele was mostly couples, and they spoke in hushed tones. After they were seated, a waitress came over and paused slightly when she saw Ye Qian's casual dress. The men who came here were usually in suits, but Ye Qian was dressed very casually. However, she quickly recovered and politely handed them the menus, asking, "What would you like to order, sir, miss?"

Ye Qian glanced briefly at the menu, then closed it and asked, "Do you have any recommendations?"

Seeing his actions, the waitress confirmed her suspicion that this young man wasn't wealthy, probably couldn't even understand the English menu, and was out of place eating Western food. She glanced at Lin Rourou, feeling a bit jealous of her beauty. Such a beautiful woman with this country bumpkin—it seemed like a waste. She decided to make things difficult for Ye Qian, hoping to embarrass him. "We have steaks freshly flown in from the U.S. today, caviar from Russia, and for wine, I suggest the '82 Lafite. What do you think, sir?"

Ye Qian looked at Lin Rourou and asked, "Rourou, would you like to add anything?"

Lin Rourou looked a bit uneasy; ordering all those items could easily cost tens of thousands. She had chosen the Western restaurant just for the atmosphere, not intending for Ye Qian to spend so much. She thought just ordering a steak would be fine. "No need, just two steaks will do," Lin Rourou said kindly. She didn't know much about Ye Qian's financial situation, but she knew his father was just a scrap collector, and Ye Qian's attire didn't suggest wealth. She didn't want him to feel embarrassed.

Ye Qian smiled faintly, understanding Lin Rourou's thoughts and appreciating her kindness and sensibility, qualities rare in girls nowadays. "Alright, then just that. Two steaks, medium rare; two portions of caviar, chilled, remember to use silver spoons; and the '82 Lafite wine," Ye Qian said fluently.

The waitress was taken aback. She hadn't expected this seemingly simple man to know how to eat caviar. Maybe she had misjudged him? Caviar's taste is best appreciated plain to savor its freshness, and overly complicated flavors shouldn't accompany it. Surprised as she was, she politely said "Just a moment," and walked away. She thought maybe Ye Qian had just heard about how to eat caviar or read about it online. She expected that his facade would crumble when it came time to pay.

"Ye Qian, we don't need to order so much!" Lin Rourou said kindly.

Ye Qian just smiled lightly and replied, "It's our first dinner together; how can I be stingy? Don't worry!"

Lin Rourou didn't say more, but she discreetly touched her purse, ready with her card just in case Ye Qian couldn't cover the bill.
