Moving day

Ejiro POV

I walked into the school building with my head hanged low. I'm afraid to stare back at the judging eyes around me.

As I walk I heard laughter and whispers. I tried to keep steady but I fail as I bump into someone. " Hey! Look where you dey go. Nor give me failure sickness"

I got up from the ground only for me to be crowded by other learners. Each looking at me with disgust, I tried to run away but I can't. All I keep hearing is their endless chant " failure! Failure! Failure! Failure! "

I turned to my left as I saw my friends and parents echoing the same thing. Tears roll down my cheeks as I cry out " No,Please! Stop! Help! Please help me-" I knelt down to cover my ears as I sob

Suddenly I felt something heavy fall on me. I screamed opening my eyes to see my brother in front of me. Checking my surroundings I realized it was a dream..

" Is a dream...it was, what do you want?"

" Nothing! Sha get up make you ready to travel. Me I don ready oh so if you like dey here dey dream rubbish"

I look at him in anger, I rapped my blanket and throw it at him. He swiftly dogdges it, laughing along the way.

" God, which kind dream be this? This Lagos self, I tire oh"

I sluggishly go about my business not careing to be in a hurry.

The drive was quite, nearly everyone is busy with their phone. I spend my time looking at the buildings. " So fine!" I smiled

" See, I talk say you go like Lagos. " Alex smiled.

" Hey!!!" I shouted as my brother laughed. People around where giving me strange looks but I don't care. My favorite food is gone. I hate Lagos already.

" So wetin I go chop?"

" Any rice of your choice"

" I'm finished!" I shouted once more

" What's all this nonsense. You better keep your act together. Stop disgracing your mother and I. If it was in my power I would have let you stay in warri with all this your stupid character " my dad lament causing me to comport myself. He walked ahead of us to the eatery in front of us. My brother strolling beside him.

My mom pat my shoulder in comfort as we both walk to the eatery together. My mom pick a table as we all sat. After telling the waitress what we want we all sat down in tense silence.

I was busy looking everywhere except my dad face. My brother was busy looking at the place. My mother was starring between me and my dad.

After sometime, the waitress returned with our foods. I eat my food in silence feeling sad and dejected. My mind flashed back to the hurtful words my dad has tell me before.

I didn't know when I started crying. It was when the waitress came over our table again that made me realize I'm crying. " Oh, you're not done with your food" she said taking others plates

" Oh my God, why are you crying? You don't like the food?" She asked making me to sob.

" OgheneEjiro!!" My father bang his hands on the table. Making me to flinch.

" Dont- push- me" he glare at me

The waitress coward away leaving me and my father in a starring contest.

" Ahem! " My mom clears her throat. Stoping our staring contest.

" Alex wants to pee, can you help him with that." She asked my dad. He nod, took Alex hand and walk away.

" Is he my father?" I asked my mom with teary eyes.

" Come on, Ejiro. You know he is. Sometimes he may be hard on you but trust me your father means well"

" Really? Do I look well?" I asked

My mother huff. " Please eat. The journey is still far"
