It's been a couple of days and the partners have just been resting and avoiding, well everything. However, they came upon a stray devil and a single attack ended its life.
Velon realized he already had a decent amount of power. At least enough to deal with weak stray devils and lower-tier supernatural beings.
However, right now he sat with Gible in his lap in the forest of Kuoh while rolling a blue gem on his hand.
Gem of Rebirth
Allows for a single-use racial change.
While he wasn't particularly attached to his humanity, he wasn't sure what race to change to. He had been given several options, all having benefits and negatives.
{Demon} {Angel} {Dragon} {Dragonoid} {Kitsune} {Incubus} {Goblin} {Orc}
The list just kept going on and listing almost every race he could think of and more. He could become almost anything. However, as of right now, he's gone down to a few of them for choices.
{Dragonoid} {Kitsune} {Phoenix} {Dragon}
Each one had advantages and disadvantages.
Dragons would generate a fuck ton of magical energy just by breathing and their hearts beating. He would most likely rarely run out of mana. A powerful elemental ability, or abilities. However, he would gain Draconic tendencies. A weakness to dragon-slayer-like attacks. A pride and ego miles long. Probably.
A Phoenix would gift him with strong fire, healing capabilities, teleportation by flame, and a few other things. Immortality in the form of rebirth. However, he would gain an aversion and possible hatred of anything even remotely dark.
A downside with those two would be learning how to take on a human form.
Now as a kitsune, he'd gain fire abilities. Illusion abilities. An a few more miscellaneous abilities. Negatives though would probably be his moral compass, or at least what was left of it from how bad he was already. However, he'd also have to learn to hide his fluffy appendages from normal people and possibly even the supernatural for some.
Now with Dragonoid, he'd be a dragon in human form with the possibility to obtain a dragon form in the future. He'd have all the advantages and disadvantages of a dragon, all compacted into a human form. However, any other possible differences between what he knew and what the system would tell him could lead to future issues.
However, he was still hesitant to throw away his humanity. What if Artemis wouldn't want him anymore because of it?
Aeris sensing her father's distress gently rubbed her head against his chest, and as he reached down to pet her, he realized that her size was growing. Despite only being at level 34, her size was that of a Gible almost about to evolve. How big would she be as a level 100? A level 100 Gabite? A level 100 Garchomp?
Perhaps his Gible possessed the famed King Gene, or was it Royal Gene? Also, he was pretty sure it was a non-canon thing. Made up of fanfic writers. Then again the giant dragonite, onyx, and the possible giant sea monster.
Eh, like the annoying stuff in his life, he'd ignore it. Like how he ignored Apollo's singing. He sucked.
He soon smiled as he realized his Pokémon's intention. As a bonus a memory came up of a conversation he had with Artemis.

"Would you still love me even if I had a different form? Looked different. Was not human." Velon stared into the beautiful silver-colored eyes of his girlfriend as she snuggled into his chest.
Both are equally naked.
"Yes. Even if you weren't human, you'd still be mine. The reason why? Because even if you weren't human, you were still YOU. And that's all that matters." She said with a smile and one came upon his face.
"I love you." He said as he gently kissed her and she moaned into it.
"I love you too." She responded as they kissed again and deepened it.
Needless to say neither got any sleep that night.

Velon smiled and giggled a bit as he remembered that night. He hugged Aeris a bit closer to him, he was sad, but that was fine. One day he would reunite with his girlfriend, and hopefully before his daughter was born, and she wouldn't care what he was, so long as he was himself.
"Yes, that's all that matters isn't it?" Velon asked himself as he stared up at the moon with a smile before getting up and crushing the crystal thinking of his choice.
However, the moment he did, his body was in extreme pain. However luckily for him, the game's mind kicked in once he reached a certain level of pain and negated it.
Plus side, he'd just gained, Pain Resistance, Lvl 23.
However, thankfully the pain stopped and he opened his status.
Name: Velon Eveningshade
Titles: [Gamer] [Moons Favored One]
Race: Dragonoid
Level: 37 {56%}
HP: 15,000/15,000
EP: 100,000/100,000
Velon smiled at that and dismissed the screen. He lifted his arm and looked closely and saw that instead of skin, his arm was now actually covered in scales colored the same as his skin should be. However as he opened his skill tab, he realized he gained a few skills. Awesome!
Luminous Lunar Dragon Eyes: Lvl 100 (MAX)
The eyes of a dragon see everything they gaze upon. No secrets are hidden from them. Skill is combined with Observe.
Lunar Flare: Lvl 1
A high-powered blast of your Draconic energy that deals devastating damage at a high magic cost.
Unassisted Flight: Lvl 100 (MAX)
Fly at fast speeds with the need for the assistance of wings or spells.
He was slowly on his way to becoming OP and finding a way to dimension travel.
However for now he would stop daydreaming and salivating at his new skills and instead focus on his freaked-out and scared Gible.
"Daddy's fine Aeris. Come here." He said gently and she rammed over to him and he easily picked her up.
He realized that she had been worried about him since he was sad and then was in pain. He really should stop worrying his daughter about his issues and making them so obvious for her to worry.
However, it was then he realized it was the first time he'd mentally thought of her as his daughter. And he was happy with it.
If he was mentally calling her it, he mentally accepted her as his daughter. Nothing could change that. Anyone who says anything will get a Lunar Flare blast to the face. Point blank. Full power.
"Yes, everything will be fine, and no one can change that." He said as he soothed her worry with a smile and pushed happy emotions through their bond.

Back again with another chapter. Man, I'm so proud of myself for getting these out as quickly as I am. Even if they are barely 1,000 words per chapter compared to my usual 2,000 minimum per chapter in my normal stories.
Anyway, till next time friends! I'm tired and need my sleep. Had a lllllloooooonnnnnggggg day today. Did a lot of housework. A lot of driving. Working out. Uhhhh, I'm gonna pass out now. Again, till next time my dear readers!
