Chapter 5

I completely understand Lance. Now let's get the money together to get this man a lawyer to wave the charges. It's only some minor hyper-beaming. Nothing serious. Not like the people were important.

Velon Eveningshade could admit that perhaps exploring the woods at night by himself was a bad idea, but then again, when has a bad idea ever stopped him?

So armed with a pistol, a knife, and a backpack filled with supplies he headed into the woods flashlight in hand.

He had a great time, he ran into three oddly friendly wolf packs. Played with the adults and pups. He only got a small bite once from a pup who looked immediately sad and regretful.

He just patted their head and wrapped a bandage around his hand then set off after 15 mins. The wolves then oddly guided him somewhere.

An hour of traversing up a mountain and then down it. Then he rode a larger wolf through a large field till eventually a forest area to a small open field where he saw a trail of golden blood.

"Is this what you all wanted to show me?" He asked and they seemed to shake their head and take him to a tree where he was the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.

However, he ignored that and focused on the most important thing. The wounds she had. So taking off his backpack he got to work helping with the most important ones. Like the large line across her chest. One nearly across her throat entirely.

"Christ almighty, what could have done this?" He asked himself as he finished doing what he could. She would need a doctor. Unluckily for her, he was not one. Luckily for her, she would survive long enough to reach one.

Since he wouldn't be able to move her without injuring her, he would wait till she awoke. So he got to preparing a meal.

"Y'all hungry?" He asked the wolf pack with him. 6 wolves. 2 pups and four parents. They gave him a wuff in response and he shrugged taking it as a yes.

So after some time, he had a basic meat dish in front of him. Don't ask how he managed to walk through the woods with meat in his bag completely fine. He's not sure.

However he didn't care and ate his fill while sharing with the pack, a bit was left over for the woman if she awoke.

As it would happen, a groan was heard and the 7 awake people(1 human and 6 wolves) looked at the woman now waking up.

8 people were now awake.

"Where-" she didn't get to say much as the wolves moved over to her and nuzzled her. All gently avoiding her injuries.

"Who are you, boy?" She asked and he smiled and shrugged.

"That is the question we are all trying to figure out my dear friend. However, my name is Velon Eveningshade, a 16-year-old high schooler who loves exploring." Velon said as he laughed at her annoyed look.

"Kidding, kidding. I was exploring, and came upon you injured, more accurately it's to say I was having fun with this wolf pack and they led me here after this little one accidentally bit me. I patched you up as best I could with what I had." Velon said as he gestured to all the bandages wrapped around her body. "And no I did not peak at you or remove your clothes." He added as she looked up at him with a glare in her beautifully colored silver eyes. The moonlight seemingly paling to compare to them.

She grunted in annoyance but seemed to believe him.

"Here, some food. Meat with some basic spices." He said as he showed her the spices and flipped a piece each to the wolves which was raw. They loved deer meat.

The girl took it and sniffed it before eating it and then gaining stars in her eyes.

"This tastes like Auntie Hestia's food!" She said as she took more and more before eating it all up.

'Well, at least she likes it. And that was all my meat too.' Velon thought with an inward sigh.

"Artemis, Artemis Phobos. That's my name. Be honored I'm giving it to a male like you." She said with a glare and he raised his hand in a mock surrender position.

"Ok got it. Extremely honored." He said as he began packing all his stuff up. "I think we should get you to a hospital though." He added on after a moment and she looked down at herself and nodded, but then realized her clothes were in tatters. He seemed to realize this too and reached into his backpack and pulled out a jacket he had brought in case he got too cold.

"Here. Might be a little big, but it should help." He said and she took it and put it on.

'Warm.'

Velon smiled to himself as he saw the sight of her enjoying the heat from it.

"Shall we go?" He asked as he offered his hand to her and she nodded as she took it and stood up with a bit of difficulty.

"Can you lead us to the nearest road?" He asked the wolf pack who nodded as they all started walking.

The next 47 minutes of walking were accompanied by pure silence and the sun slowly rose as it closed in on their position. As they reached the road a golden car pulled up with a man with golden hair and blue eyes.

"Arty! I've been following your GPS. What happened to you!?" The man demanded as he got out of the car and checked on her.

"I was attacked by some fowl men brother. Velon here helped me, and these wolves led him to me." She said and the man bowed to him and then gave them all a ride back into town. It was a bit cramped in his two-person car. Artemis ended up sitting on his lap the entire ride embarrassing both of them while the man, Apollo Phobos, learned his name during the ride, and laughed at them both.

Once they arrived in town he got out and thanked them for the ride and left to disappear into town.

'Hmm, she oddly didn't call him a stupid boy or any other normal thing for her.'

'This jacket is really warm.'

As we can see, both twins had completely similar thoughts. 100% similar thought. Completely matching.

(Note the sarcasm)

Velon woke up with a laugh as he remembered how he met his girlfriend. The way both of them had been so embarrassed. Apollo was pretty nice, even back then. Then again, he shouldn't expect any less from the man who proclaimed himself his big brother.

As he woke his faithful partner did. She went spiritual as he got up and ready for the day. He was finally beginning the start of his school year as a first year at Kuoh Academy. Issei meanwhile was still beginning his last year of middle school.

'So I'll be in the same year as Rias, Akeno, Sona and Tsubaki. Interesting.' Velon thought as he realized he'd have to be careful to ignore them and not give away his power. He wasn't interested in dealing with their bullshit, especially Rias.

Also the fact while he may be able to handle them currently in power individually, maybe even versus two of them, or all four, if they called in their peerages, even weakened and smaller than they were at the start of canon, he wasn't sure he could beat them.

Even if he did manage to beat them, he didn't want to worry about Sirzechs or Serafall showing up and erasing his existence because of a fight between him and their little sisters.

Yeah no, thank you. He liked living. Also, he was a little scared of what would come after death due to his having the system.

Would his soul go into the underworld of Greek mythology since his girlfriend was Artemis? Would he even go to his world's underworld? Would he go to this one's? Would he go to the Shinto one since he was in Japan currently?

These questions he never hopes to have an answer to.

So yeah, nothing really exciting in this chapter, but how the main pairing of this story happened is a good way to have this chapter be to me. I thought of ending it after the twins "shared" thought, but decided to continue on a bit to set up the next chapter.

Also, I've decided to try using my scene breaks in the middle instead of on the left. Thoughts? And yes I've tried the right side and I didn't like it.

Till next time dear readers!
