Velon inwardly groaned as he arrived as he arrived at Kuoh Academy. He was getting hard stares from all the females. The girls must have arrived early to judge the incoming males.
He was sure Artemis would have a nice conversation with these girls, at least until they started squealing about the future "Prince" of Kuoh, Kiba Yuuto, who wasn't due to arrive till next year.
'Well, this will be a fun four years.' He thought with a tinge of amusement. So for now he just walked towards what looked like the gymnasium where they would most likely hold the introduction speech and other annoying stuff.
To his surprise, okay not really, he saw Sona Sitri and Tsubaki Shinra sitting down already in front. In the back, he saw three girls giggling away.
So deciding it was best to just ignore it all, for now, he took a seat a few away from Sona and Tsubaki. Then pulling a book out from his bag he began reading. It was a decent book about building. He wanted to make his own home one day with his bare hands.
However, he was distracted for 10 mins when a person said "Excuse me, may I sit here?" When he looked up he saw another boy his age. Long red hair and red eyes. Four red birthmarks under his eyes, two under each, they were like like, or perhaps they were just makeup. He doesn't care.
"Sure," Velon said back after a moment and the dude sat down.
"Guy (said Ghee) Crimson. Hope we can be friends." Guy said with a smile and Velon looked at him for a moment.
Name: Guy Crimson Gremory
Title: [Prince of Destruction] [Prodigy of Prodigies]
Race: Daemon
Lvl: 43
Age: 15
"Sure. Name is Velon Eveningshade. Nice to meet you." Velon said as he felt a smile work its way onto his face. Perhaps his school years wouldn't be so boring after all. So he closed his book and decided to bring up some conversation with his new friend.
It ended up becoming about fighting and surprisingly family.
They had a lot in common. They loved a good fight and their family mostly ignored them entirely. Guy was ignored because he was different compared to his family. Because of that, he was ostracized. He did say his brother and his wife tried to spend as much time as they could with him, but due to their child and work it was hard, but they tried and that's all he cared about.
Velon himself revealed how his family ignored him and he had no idea why they were doing that, one day they were nice and the next they ignored him flat out and his sister hated him.
On that day a brotherhood was formed between the two. A bond of understanding and friendship.

Velon hummed as he casually swung his sword destroying a wolf charging at him. This was the third level of the dungeon.
It had been a week since orientation, and he and Guy had exchanged numbers and even met up at the gym to box. It was pretty fun. Both weren't injured since they kept themselves to human levels of strength.
Though everyone else in the gym seemed shocked at the strength they had thrown around. I mean, seeing two 15-year-olds punching with the strength of full-grown men looking lean like they did, and lifting large and heavy weights must have hurt their egos and pride. Sucks for them. Just wait till the janitors come through and make it look easy.
"Fuck off!" Velon shouted as he used his new spell, Lunar Flare, and blasted all the wolves around him to nothingness. All anyone would see was a flash of silver before a large explosion happened.

Guy stood in the underworld smiling as he fought against a bunch of Old Satan faction members. Standing in the distance, but close enough to interfere if needed, stood Grayfia Lucifuge and Sirzechs Lucifer who was carrying his son, Millicas Lucifuge, who was clapping as his uncle fought.
"He's much more lively now don't you think Grayfia?" Sirzechs asked as he shot a blast of destruction to kill an ultimate-class devil who was trying to sneak up on Guy. While strong, his younger brother wasn't the ultimate class yet.
"Yes. He used to always have this dead look in his eyes most of the time. We sometimes pushed it down, but it was always there. Now though, it's almost gone." Grayfia said with a smile as she froze a devil which was soon destroyed by Guy.
"Indeed. I'm just happy he is happier now." Sirzechs said as he threw a sword towards Guy to begin his practice with swords now. After all, no better teacher than experience after getting the basics down.
It's how he learned. His father taught him the basic stances for battle axes and then tossed him into a war zone and said "Fight." A fight he did. Wielding his battle axe alone he killed 174 angels and 37 fallen angels, all having three sets of wings, before having to resort to his power of destruction due to becoming tired.
His little brother certainly wanted to break that record as the bodies around him slowly started building up.

Velon smiled as the dust of the 300 wolves he slayed pulled together to form one giant wolf.
Fenrir
[Father of Wolves]
Lvl: 65
"Hell yes!" Velon cheered as he and Gible charged into battle.
—
Meanwhile, in both their locations, both Velon and Guy lay on their back panting. Their only family, to them, sitting with them as they grinned holding a fist in the air and making a promise to themself.
'I will become the strongest!'

I know it's a bit short compared to my other chapters, but I'm trying to think of how to build up to the two years without jumping straight to canon.
Yes, canon won't be entirely canon, because what's the point of fanfiction if you just follow canon entirely? Some stories make that a bit hard, but stories having the worlds of Naruto, DxD, and several others have so much to work with and it's always the same. Follow canon, have a character different, or have an OC take the place of the MC and still be different, but do the same thing the original MC did. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them, but they always feel a little bland to me.
So when I can find a story that doesn't follow canon entirely I just fall in love with the story if it goes on for a good time and isn't an entire piece of crap. I can even ignore shitty grammar if the story is good enough... well so long as it isn't one of those where every first letter is capitalized for every damn word.
Even I followed the canon in the beginning of my first stories, and while I tried to add things in, I realized it was just slightly different canon telling with stronger MC making the story boring.
Don't get me wrong, canon is a nice base to build off, but it's just that to me, a base to build off and expand on.
Sorry for ranting. Till next time my friends!
