12: Time for the next plan

Ethan's POV

As we stood before Jenkins, I couldn't focus on his words. I was too captivated by Camella's smile, her sparkling eyes, the patch on her head from the accident still visible. But when I saw the patch, my heart skipped a beat. I felt a pang of guilt and regret and at that point I didn't even know what it was directed at.

But Camella's smile drew me back in. She didn't seem to notice my gaze lingering on the patch. She was too happy, too radiant. And I couldn't help but be swept up in her joy.

I vaguely remember exchanging rings, golden bands that I made Jenkins bring with him.

And then, Jenkins said the words I had subconsciously been waiting for: "You may kiss the bride."

I leaned in, my heart racing, and kissed her. Time stopped. Everything around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in this moment. I felt like I was home, like I was exactly where I was meant to be.
