13: I found you(1)

Leo's POV

I washed my hands, the bloody water swirling down the drain. William handed me a napkin to dab my hands with, his expression stoic. I took a deep breath, my gaze drifting to Jenkins, who lay battered and bruised on the floor.

"So it took one bad beating for you to finally tell me, huh Jenkins?" I said, my voice dripping with disdain. I turned to face him, my eyes narrowing. "You were really willing to risk your life just to hide that brother of mine? If I didn't threaten your granddaughter, you really would have kept quiet, wouldn't you?"

Jenkins coughed, wincing in pain. "Because... you're not worth it, not worth loyalty," he spat, his voice weak but defiant. "I mean.. you're using my own family to bait me!"

I frowned, feeling a surge of anger. "Why couldn't you be loyal to me like that?" I demanded, my voice rising. "I've given you a good life, a comfortable position in my household. And this is how you repay me?"
