XII | Is the 4th Ball the Bringer of My Doom or a Blessing?

Pride-Niklaus's point of view

♕︎ ♕︎ ♕︎

We all froze. None of us wanting to pair with that arsehole.

If one of us would be fine with it, it's Apollo, as he dates Loki's best friend and must be used with him around. But any of us outside of him? Absolutely not.

"Gods, have mercy. Take the second ball," Atlas growled anxious.

"The one who will pair with Loki, is…" Diana turned to Samuel.

He opened a wide grin, "Apollo Valentine Bathory-Moreno!"

"Fuck yeah!" Atlas yelled.

"Fuck," Scarlet gasped and got down on her knees, leaning her back on the all, visually disturbed, probably because the chance of her falling with me or Dove just triple exponentially. "Let me get my brother. Please, let me get Atlas."

"Good buddy?" Loki smiled brightly at Apollo who was visually fine.

"More time with you means more time with Neo, so, hell yeah." See?

"I like that too," Neo-Brynolf beamed.

Then Loki and Apollo both get teleported to their seats in the middle of the first roll. Apollo on the side of the top 1 and Loki on the side of the top 3.

"The ball," Scarlet growled. "The third ball."

"Anxious much?" Kai mocked her.

"Go to fucking hell, lustful demon."

He grinned, "Well, you might come to us," then he winked at me.

"The third ball is…" Diana beamed with the suspense again.

"Atlas Vincent Bathory-Moreno!" Samuel grinned mischievously and the squeak that left Scarlet's lips got me almost giggling. "The next ball will decide who pairs with the Drakyre triplet and the last pair."

Scarlet closed her eyes, hands crossed together. "Please, please, please."

"The fourth name is…" Diana smirked, eyes on Scarlet.

"Vain-Dove Zara Python-Cervenka!" Samuel beamed.

"No!" Scarlet, Atlas, Apollo, and Loki gasped.

"Fuck no! This is messed up. It was no fucking mixed tight," she gasped. "We fell on our normal places on the top three, what kind of bullshit this? Let's do it again," but before she could finish complaining, we teleported to our places. Her on the rightmost seat and me between her and Apollo. "No!" She cried when our eyes met. "This must be a nightmare."

Quite the dream to me. "A nightmare indeed," I scowled at her. "Believe me, I'm as disgusted to fall with you than you can imagine," in all the possible meaning of 'falling'.

"I am more disgusted than you!" She snapped competitively.

She sure is. "I highly doubt that," then I turned to her brother who was pressing his lips together and avoiding eye contact with me. "I'm just not sure if I'm the unlucky one or if it's Apollo, because dude you fell with the filthy fox."

That made the Drakyre break his black face, as he choked on a laugh. "He isn't that bad. And I'll be with his best friend. It's a win."

"Yeah? But Neo will be with his partner while you're with filthy fox."

Loki rolled his eyes, "Shut the fuck up, Pride."

I smirked, "What? Are you jealous?"

"Of course, I am," he scoffed annoyed. "I wanted to be with Calli."

"Gods' be damned," she cursed under her breath, avoiding eye contact with him with all her willpower. "Gods were good with him, 'cause he fell on pair with me, I would murder him by tomorrow morning."

That's my girl. "I would do the same if I were to partner with him. After all, there is a way to murder foxes like him," I flashed a grin at his incredulous face.

"What did I even do to you, arsehole?" He gasped.

"Your mere existence annoys the hell out of me, filthy fox. You're the lucky one out of the six of us, for falling with the one person who would try to kill the hell out of you," I crossed my arms over my chest, annoyed with him, but loving how even sitting down I'm still towering over Scarlet.

"I hate to say it, but I agree with Niklaus," Atlas muttered.

I winked at him, "It's because I'm right. And you better be extra careful with my sister, got it? Or I'll stab the hell out of you."

"He's not joking," Dove mumbled embarrassed, covering her face with both of her hands. "He's done that more than once, it's infuriating."

"Awesome. She's not my type though, no worries. And I would tell you to be careful with my sister, but it would be useless. Either way you will still end up trying to kill each other. She'll definitely stab you by the end of the day. Good luck with that, by now you must know how she loves stabbing," he said haunted, and I now wonder if she stabbed her siblings before, since they can't really die.

What an aggressive love language she has. Sounds like my parents.

"Stabbing is our thing," I beamed unfazed.

"I told you, red," Kai beamed. "You are coming to Inferno now."

"I'm doomed," she mumbled under her breath, face on her hands. "Diana and Samuel fucked with me. They did it on purpose. There's no way I would fall with this… devil if they hadn't done that. No way," she growled.

"It is what it is. As we can't die, you're stuck with me, Scarlet!"

She glared at me, "Why do you sound amused? Are you insane?"

For her? Definitely. "Just because," I grinned widely.

"You give me the creeps," she flinched disgusted.

"Must be hard to be near someone as hot as me."

"It's not. I look in the mirror all the time, I'm used to it. I'm a lot hotter than your hybrid arse could ever be," there it is, the mischievousness I'm so bloody obsessed with.

"So, you think Nik's hot?" Dom popped up out of nowhere.

"When did I say that?" She glared at him.

"You didn't deny that he was hot," Kai pointed with a crooked grin.

"I don't think he's hot," she said bluntly, but we both know that's a lie.

"You're not hot either," I lied.

She frowned offended, "You are lying."

"What? I thought we were playing a catch-a-lie game!"

Scarlet scoffed, "I don't know what you're insinuating!"

I arched an eyebrow, "Scarlet, you are the top 1 girl in everything in here, so I think you are smart enough to know exactly what I meant. We may hate each other, and constantly try to murder one another, but we both have good sight and mirrors. We are both hot and that's is a fact. Me thinking you're hot, doesn't change the fact that I don't like your guts or that you are a psychopathic condescending bitch. And you thinking I'm hot, doesn't change how much you loathe my arse and wants to kill me. It's simply… common knowledge."

Her pupils widened a bit and I swear I saw a red gleam on her golden iris, the same red of her hair. "So, you think I'm hot?"

Hot is an understatement. "Do you think I'm hot?"

She bit her bottom lips and swallowed an answer, then avoided my eyes, "No. I wasn't lying. I don't think you're hot. But it seems like you have better eyes than I thought. I am hot indeed. The hottest!"

"You ego certainly matches each other's," Nora mocked.

"It's called self-awareness, snake shifter," Scarlet scoffed. "Not ego."

"Indeed. Because you are smoking hot," filthy fox beamed.

She clicked her tongue sounding nauseated. "You sound like a pervert!"

He gasped, "But I'm respectful with you!"

"Are you?" Both me, Scarlet, her brothers, Kai, and Dove scoffed.

"You certainly doesn't sound respectful, filthy fox!" I mocked.

"Look who's talking!" He glared at me.

I arched my eyebrows, "Why would I be respectful with someone like her? We hate each other, and she's anything but respectful. She's a bitch, so, I gotta be a bitch too," it's kind of a reference to the song she chose to mention on her post earlier, but let's not be so straightforward. "But you? You keep feigning being all respectful and shite, when you're a eccentric obsessive pervert who doesn't know how to digest a no and a rejection."

"I was not rejected," Loki hissed on defensive.

That got Scarlet laughing bitterly. "I reject you almost every day, fox."

"You don't know well yet. I'm sure I'll make you fall in love with me. I mean, I am hot and we match, no? We would be amazing together. I'm tall, my dark pink hair matches yours, my amber eyes matches yours, I'm a red nine-tailed fox and extremely powerful, I'm clever, and we like the same things."

She glared at him from head to toe, "Fox, let's be honest, you stalked the hell out of me and made yourself like the same things I do. You keep mimicking me and it's fucking annoying. You don't know how to understand a no. A no is a no, you shouldn't fucking insist when someone you're trying to woo tells you a no. Anything other than that is crossing the fucking line and that disgusts me. You have never been a bitch to me, but you are too overbearing, too much, and though you have some cool looks, you are not my type, fox."

"Yes, you are smart, but so what? I am too. I'm stronger and smarter than you. You may be a powerful nine-tailed red fox, but I am a, for now, immortal drakyre and the first of my kind. I am special in a way you will never be. We are from different worlds and though I respect your amazing taste for choosing me, I just want you to stop with this obsession on me. It's fruitless. I have no intention on falling in love, on living anything like that at all, especially not with you. You should snap out of it and look for someone who wants you back."

"This," she pointed from her to him, "will forever be unreciprocated, and you aren't even on the friendzone 'cause we are not friends. We are nothing but classmates and both part of the Council of Painite, all 'cause we are Captains of two of the houses. I will never give you a chance. I don't want you. I don't like you like that at all. You are not attractive to me. I feel nothing but annoyance when you are near me. In fact I feel more attracted to the devil here than to you," she pointed at me to make a point and I froze, staring at her. 'cause, fuck, did she really just say that to me? "And he's my mortal enemy and nemesis and the one I hate the most in Sky-Eden. I don't hate you though, fox, I just hate the way you act near me. It gives me the creeps."

As everyone, even the headmasters stared at her surprisingly calm burst, she took a deep breath and played with her hair. Her eyes on Loki, who was ashen pale and looking heartbroken.

Hah, I love this sight quite a lot.

"Was I clear now? 'cause of you keep this up, I might, genuinely, kill you if I lose my mind, fox. If you haven't gotten the memo yet, this is me rejecting you. This is me saying no. This is me, telling you to go after someone that will be better to you and will love you back, 'cause to me, whatever you think you feel towards me is nothing but a burden. I don't want you near me, I don't want you getting funny ideas," she leaned over her desk, head turned across me, eyes on him. "I am not playing hard to get. I am not feigning rejection. I am not playing any kind of seduction games with you. I'm being fully honest in here."

"I'm scared that you're not screaming," Kai mumbled, haunted.

She kept her eyes on Loki, "His way are terrible and don't work, but fox likes me. He has genuine feelings for me since we were kids," well, he's not the only one. "It's not his fault, and that's why I'm keeping my cool right now. I do wish to scream, but it won't change the fact that he can't switch off his emotions just 'cause I feel nothing back. Again, I am not playing with anyone's feelings in here, and I do wish to do so. Fox has a good taste, but was stupid to fall for me. So, take your time, away from me, and find a rebound or fall for anyone else. Just, stop this thing you have for me. It's uncomfortable."

At least she didn't reject the filthy fox in front of the entire academy. But there's still a lot of people in here, so, yes. Very humiliating for him.

I wish I had recorded to watch again though.
