SPEED AGAINST WITS

Five was woken up by the sound of fighting taking place outside the cave.

He finished his own time of keeping watch without a hitch, but it seemed something had happened during Forty-Four's time.

He looked towards the entrance of the cave and saw Forty-Four lying still there with the sniper facing outside.

His entire focus was on the telescope. Five also noticed that it was daylight already, he slowly walked to the entrance of the cave while bending his head because of the low ceiling of the cave.

He joined Forty-Four at the entrance of the cave and also lay down fully covered by the shrubs and grasses at the entrance of the cave.

Forty-four noticed the little movements close to him and knew Five was the one.

Five stared outside and noticed an interesting and dangerous event taking place outside the cave a little distance away, it was this event that was making the sounds that woke him up.

A Neo was standing standing still with a spherical translucent blue bubble surrounding him.

That wasn't the only interesting thing outside, but aside the Neo was surrounded by the spherical translucent blue bubble which was a forcefield, a blue blur kept attacking the force field but all that caused was a ripple that was similar to a pebble being dropped in a pond.

After an endless attack, the blue blur seemed to have gotten tired as it ran up to a little distance and stopped revealing a beautiful girl in blue camouflage.

Her features seem delicate and soft, with her hair tied behind in a ponytail style. Her eyes were closed and she was breathing a little hard, her hand was on the rough bark of a tree resting against it.

She then slowly opened her eyes revealing beautiful green eyes that had a hint of anger on them as she stared at the Neo she was just fighting who still had the forcefield on, not taking any chances at all.

The Neo surrounded by the force field was tall and thin, which was the only thing to be said about him. Just like her, he was also breathing a little hard.

"How long has this been going on?"Five whispered to Forty Four who whispered back.

"Almost an hour now, what should we do?"

"Look at their breathing, they are almost running out of mental strength, when that happens that's when we make our move." Five smiled creepily.

Seeing the creepy smile on Five's face, Forty-Four got chills, "Please don't ever smile in front of me again"

With a confused expression, "Why?"

"Your smile looks creepy and villainous"

"...."

" Just keep quiet and watch," Five scoffed.

After taking a little breather, the super-speed Neo started attacking again this time with a more ferocious tendency but instead of punching around the force field she was focused on punching one area over and over again, her punches simply a blur to the eyes around.

Unknown to them two predators were just waiting for the perfect opportunity to swoop in and take the win at the end like a lurking hyena.

"You should just stop already, this is going no way." The male Neo advised calmly from the Forcefield, which was a facade cause he knew that the force field was slowly but surely losing its durability because of his waning mental strength.

She knew that her attacks were taking effect as the Forcefield started becoming more translucent, "You just bluffing, in a few minutes your mental strength will be exhausted."

"So will your's" he mocked.

With a smirk on her beautiful face," We will see about that."

Soon enough, he felt his mental strength getting to its limit and he felt a wave of tiredness wash over him, he couldn't almost keep the Forcefield on, and with just one last powerful punch from her, the Forcefield was gotten rid off leaving him falling on the ground.

After successfully breaking the force field, she could also notice that she was at her limit as well, as she took in deep breaths to stabilize herself.

The Neo on the ground, slowly got up and rushed to attack her, but he was still too slow compared to her and a roundhouse kick to the head knocked him out cold, with his emblem turning red.

Finally getting a breather, she let her guard down, but she was still quick enough to dodge an airsoft bullet that was aimed for her chest but instead grazed her hand because of her quick reflexes.

The person, that she thought was the culprit shooter soon revealed himself from some grasses which was actually covering the entrance of a cave.

His black camouflage gave him away as being an Expendable, which instilled some relief in her, "You lost your chance."

While walking towards her, "Don't be too sure about that" He stopped a little distance away from her.

"You know what? this is actually your lucky day I'd advise you to move on since I'm not on my top game at the moment." She advised.

"I'd think I'm good, you just said I lost my chance, so I'm taking more chances." Five taunted.

"..You getting cocky Five, this isn't morning run, I could take you down before you can even blink." She already recognized the person in front of her, due to his few winning rates of their runs in the morning which they were not allowed to use their powers.

"Maybe before, but right now you are too weak to do that." Five stated.

She knew he was right, she was currently running on fumes and couldn't move as fast as she used to, but she was still confident that she could still move faster than him even if she wasn't using half of her real speed, "Don't be so sure about that, I'm confident that I can still take you down easily"

"Go for it then," Five said with a calm demeanor which infuriated her as she suddenly closed up the distance in one second, sending a punch towards his chest which Five blocked.

Five was a little surprised, that she still had such speed left, even if she was slower than before he still had to be more careful.

Forty-Four watched the whole thing, carefully waiting for the right opportunity to shoot again after missing his chance earlier, he hoped to rectify that with another surprise shot since she didn't know of his existence.

He did hope that Five could still hold his own against her and give him the perfect opportunity to shoot her once and for all.

The Neo in question, had a little fear of being taken out by Five growing in her heart, as he was able to block her barrage of fast attacks without her even landing one hit.

She could notice the little speed she had left, reducing by the second, Five noticing this as well suddenly switched from defense to attack, which caught her off guard.

He threw a straight punch which she deflected with a forearm block and countered with a roundhouse kick to the body.

Five backpedaled to avoid the kick and responded with a spinning back kick, which she dodged by ducking and countering with a leg sweep which surprisingly connected.

She was about to revel in her little victory when she felt a piercing pain in her leg. Looking down she found a knife there with Five's hand holding it.

When he was purposely falling after letting her connect the leg sweep, he had uncharacteristically pulled out his thigh knife and stabbed her with it.

After stabbing her, he suddenly sent a kick to her face which forced her to fall down, and also forced out the Knife which was still held tightly by Five.

He straddled her and placed the knife on her neck.

"You're dead"
