MEETING SCHEMING FORTY ONE

"You're dead."

And true to Five's word her emblem indeed had turned red, signifying that she was dead.

Five's face was a little close to hers, noticing this a blush crept up her face, which confused Five for a while. He chalked it down to her being in pain from the stab.

"Are you ok?" He asked with a little concern.

"Get off me fool!!"

Five realized that he had stayed on her a little too long and quickly got up, " sorry about everything and what I'm going to do now" Five said and started searching her cargo pants.

"Don't touch me perv," The girl said with seething rage.

While still busy searching the pockets, "Dead people shouldn't have any complaints you know."

"You were just lucky." She made sure to correct his notion.

"Don't be so sure about that, one way or the other you would have still been dead." Five said with a disappointed look on his face as he wasn't able to find any energy bar on her.

She suddenly had a confused expression on her face, ".. why'd you say so."

"Because of me girl "Forty-four suddenly made his appearance known and walked close to them while carrying the rifle on his back, he had a smile on his face.

"Even if you are fast, try and check your environment before doing anything, you have the time to do so you know." Five advised and checked his watch to see the number of survivors left, which was now 42. "Let's go," He said to Forty Four and both of them left.

"I can't believe you were able to fight with her and still win, I thought you'd just create a perfect opportunity for me to shoot her," Forty-Four said as they were walking.

Five shook his head "I know my strength, there are just different factors that allowed me to defeat her, you can say it was just luck."

Five was very clear that he wasn't able to defeat the girl, because he was stronger, but because her speed had reduced to the barest minimum, not even half of what it used to be.

If she was at her usual speed, he wouldn't have even known how he died after she attacked. This proved that when facing a Neo as an Expendable it was almost impossible to defeat them as long as they were still in top shape.

"Whate....." Forty-four stopped what he was trying to say when he noticed Five suddenly stop walking, " What is it?"

But instead of replying Five kept staring at the side where a little thicket was, "I know you are in there"

"..."

Except for the sounds of birds singing there was complete silence, but soon enough a teenage girl with long, dark hair and pale skin came out from the thicket. She's wearing blue camouflage pants and a matching jacket.

Her eyes are bright and curious and she has a sweet smile on her face, she looks strong and confident and her posture is relaxed but alert at the same time.

She had her hands inside her pockets as she walked gracefully toward Five and Forty.

"Forty-one," Forty-Four said.

"Hi, nice to meet you two again," she said with a sweet smile on her face, which Forty-Four reciprocated, but Five had a cold look on his face and just nodded at her, "I need your help though."

"What for?" Forty-four asked with a curious look on his face.

"I need your help finding my sister and also if I can join your group." She said with a begging look on her face.

"Sorry, we can't help you," Five said and walked away, leaving two confused faces behind.

"I'd talk to him," Forty-Four said to Forty-One.

"Ok," Forty-One stared at Forty-Four as he chased after Five, the hands in her pocket got tighter around the two spherical objects she was holding.

"Hey wait up man" Forty-Four called out to Five who finally stopped, "what's wrong with you? She's our friend."

"She's your friend, not mine" Five corrected.

"I never knew you to be this cold"

"I'm just being logical here."

"What do you mean?" Forty-four asked with an eyebrow raised.

"First her sister may have already been eliminated or can be anywhere, we can't exactly ask someone for direction to locate her" Pausing for effect, Five continued " Secondly she can backstab us at any time, only one survivor left is the goal of the task, I can't take that risk."

"But you already took that risk with me" Forty Four stated.

Taking a deep breath, "cause I trust you."Five replied.

"I trust her too and I need you to trust me on this," Forty-Four said while having an unusually serious expression, " We may not actively look for her sister, but she can still tag along with us, tomorrow we all can try to kill each other. "

Five sighed and looked at his friend, "I hope we don't regret this at the end of the day"

"We won't" Forty Four smiled, before he could walk back to Forty One he heard Five's voice once again "Wait."

"What is it?"

"I don't know what happened between you and her in New York nine years ago, but please don't let your emotions cloud your judgment."

"I won't, "

With that Forty-Four went back to her, "You can tag along with us, hopefully, we may come across your sister."

"Thank you, but it seems your friend isn't that happy about it." She said with a worried look.

"Don't worry about it, he just doesn't know you as I do, besides the last time you both communicated was the incident years ago."Forty-four assured her, "Come on let's go."

Forty-four started walking away and she followed, finally removing the hands in her pocket after thinking to herself to follow the flow and seek an opportunity to eliminate them.

This wasn't the first time she had come across someone in her search for her sister, but she always did her best to hide or run when she knew she couldn't win the fight.

She had also hidden earlier but was a little happy when she found out that it was Five and Forty-Four, both people she was familiar with mostly Forty-Four.

Knowing she was kinda useless in a fight, she immediately cooked up a plan in her heart, to use them to survive while searching for her sister, if she was still alive though.

And luckily enough her plan succeeded. One may think that she was a little too cold to use her familiarity with Forty-Four like this.

But truth be told, she had a little resentment against him for the part he and his adopted father played in her father's death, which was a long story on his own.
