Ace POV:
“All right, so I want the tattoo right across my chest.” An 18-year-old boy says looking exited.
Poor kid. He just asked to get a tattoo of his girl friend’s name that he’s only been with for a month. I’m sorry... but what an idiot.
Sure enough he will be back in a few months to get it covered up. How do I know this? Because he has already got a tattoo of a girl’s name a few months ago, and came back a month later to cover it up. This dude is regular here for that reason.
I sigh.
“Before I tattoo you Cole... are you sure about this?”
He nods.
“Positive.”
No amount of reasoning will get him to say no. He’ll be back.

Heather POV:
“Heather, would you mind taking some phone calls while, I take a quick break?” Sandra the receptionist asks kindly.
“Sure, I’m not busy right now.”
“Thanks so much.”
I nod with a smile and she steps outside. It’s a slow day today since it's been raining for most of it. I lean back on the chair and read a gossip magazine when I feel a buzz in my pocket.
I pull my phone out and realize it’s a text From Ace. My heart does a backflip.
Ace: [This workday sucks, save me Cupcake.]
Heather: [Save me Ace.]
Ace: [Gladly.]
He doesn’t even give me time to respond as he strides through the door of my job, with his bad-boy looks that kill. He’s wearing a black band t-shirt, with some dark blue ripped jeans, and leather boots.
All the women, and even men who work there look at him like he isn’t from this world. Two women whisper back and forth to each other.
His eyes land on mine, and his smile grows.
“Delivery for Miss Williams?”
He says as he walks towards me at the reception desk, with a smirk and a ups box in his hands. I smile at him, and give him a curious look.
“That’s strange, I don’t remember ordering anything.” I take the box from his hands and raise an eyebrow at him.
“Open it, nothing is going to jump at you I swear.” He says leaning forward.
“Okay, now I’m a little nervous...” I carefully open the box, and I laugh as I see what’s inside.
“Ace... that’s a piece string.”
“It’s a secr...”
I cut him off with a finger to his lips.
“It’s a secret string, I know. I’ve seen that episode of SpongeBob plenty of times as a teenager.” I crack up, and he winks at me.
“Feel better, on this gloomy day, Cupcake?”
I nod and place my hand gently over his.
“Yes, thank you for that Ace.”
He shrugs, “I’m just glad you understood the reference, or that would have been very confusing.”
“You are something else.”
He chuckles. “So are you Cupcake. Oh and where’s your car? I didn’t see it parked out front.”
“Oh, it didn’t want to start today so I rode with Clara.”
He looks to be in deep thought before I see a lightbulb turn on over his head.
“I could take you home today if you want. We both get off around the same time, and you could use my helmet.”
“Oh, I don’t know. My dad would freak if he saw me on a sports bike.”
“Then let me take you elsewhere.” He says leaning closer to me, his voice tempting.
“What do you have in mind Ace?”
He winks at me.
“That’s for me to know, and for you to keep on guessing. I’ll see you later Cupcake.”
He places a lingering kiss on the corner of my mouth, and it feels so tingly. I look at him in awe, and he walks out of the door smiling.
“Well, well, well. It seems I was right. I mean Hansel is my twin after all. I just know these things.” Clara says walking up to me with a cute little lab puppy in her arms.
“I... I think he just asked me out in an Ace kind of way.” I whisper to her and she nods.
“I’m not surprised he would want to hang out with you since he is leaving for New York for two weeks.”
“What? What for?” I ask surprised he didn’t tell me.
“It’s a business trip. He has many clients in New York so he flies there from time to time to tattoo people and do business related stuff.”
“Oh, so he’s doing pretty good for himself. I’m not surprised, he is very talented.” I comment as I pick at my fingernails.
“Ace has always been a humble guy, but don’t let him fool you. Anyways, I’ve gotta get back to potty training this cute little ball of fur.” She walks away with the dog and winks at me.
***
As promised Ace shows up at my job. He hugs Clara and plays around with some dogs before he swaggers towards me, dangling a helmet suggestively.
“Are you ready to leave, Cupcake?” I nod excitedly. It’s been a while since I’ve last been on his bike and I really enjoyed it.
“Come on.” He takes my hand in his, clearly not caring what his sister thinks anymore, if he ever did to begin with. He waves at her as he pulls me through the doors.
The rain has stopped and thankfully the road is dry too. He swings a leg over the bike and I do the same snuggling close to him. He hands me the helmet and I put it on, before wrapping my arms around his torso.
Soon we’re soaring down the highway, and I feel weightless as I watch the farms and billboard signs go by in a blur. He easily weaves through the light traffic, and we finally get off the highway. I have no idea where we are only that we have been riding for a good 40 minutes. He drives through an orchard field entrance and parks near a little business.
I hop off and he pulls the helmet off of my head, before brushing my hair out of my face with his fingers.
“What are we doing here Ace?”
“We’re picking apples like the southern folk we are.” He chuckles and waves at someone behind me. I turn to see an old farmer walking our way.
“Hansel? Good lord kid, is that you?” The old man asks rubbing his eyes and smiling.
“Yes grandpa it’s me. In the flesh.” He says walking up to him, and hugging him tightly.
Grandpa?...
“Oh my goodness, how long has it been since I’ve seen you?” His grandfather asks looking at him surprised.
“It’s only been about a year a grandpa, Clara and I visit every holiday.”
“Oh that’s right, silly me. Who’s the pretty lady Hansel?” He says smiling at me.
“Grandpa, this is Heather, Heather this is my grandfather Jim from my adoptive father's side of the family.” I smile at the sweet old man, and shake his hand. It’s a firm shake that surprises me. He may be old but he is pretty strong.
“It’s nice to meet you Heather. Are you two doing some picking?”
“Yes we are I was hoping we could borrow midnight to get around better.” Jim clasps his hands together.
“Well of course! I’ll go get her.” He walks into the barn and walks outside with a basket and majestic looking, black Clydesdale horse. I have been around plenty of horses, but none as beautiful as her.
“Wow, what a beauty,” I say as I pet the side of her huge body.
“That she is. Midnight is my oldest horse, but she gets around just fine, and she loves apples, so make sure to not leave her anywhere near your basket.”
“Will do grandpa, see you soon.” Ace says as he takes the horse’s leash from him.
“You two have fun.” He waves to us before heading back into the barn.
“Ready?” Ace asks me and I size the horse up with my eyes.
“Um how am I going to get up there? She’s so tall.”
“I’ll help you up of course.” He holds me by my waist, pushing me up, and keeping me from falling as I swing my leg over the horse.
Ace sits behind me on the saddle his arms around me as he holds on to the leash. I hear his breathing change, as his breath tickles against the back of my neck. He hooks the basket on a strap, on the side of the saddle and he motions the horse forward.
I sigh at how peaceful and beautiful the fields are, and how amazing it is to be here with him.
“What’s going through that pretty head of yours, Cupcake?” He whispers by my ear, making me shiver.
“Just how happy I am at this particular moment,” I say turning slightly towards his face, and seeing his smile.
“I want you to know Cupcake... That whatever is going on between us, I want it more than anything, but...”
“But?” I encourage him to continue feeling hopeful.
“But there is a lot about me that I need you to know before... well, before I’m yours.”
My heart melts at the idea of being his, but then my brain tells me to not get too excited. He clearly has a bad past, one that even Clara hasn’t told me about, and I can’t help but wonder what could have happened to him.
“I would love to be yours Ace, so please tell anything. You can trust me.”
He exhales the breath he was holding, and he releases one hand from the leash, to brush my hair away from my neck with his fingers.
“Oh Heather.” He presses his lips to the side of my neck softly and shut my eyes in bliss.
“My mind is going crazy with all the fantasies I have with you.” He whispers to me, changing the subject.
“Like... sexual fantasies?” I ask blushing.
“Well I was referring to relationship fantasies with you, but now that we’re on that topic, I have to ask... have you ever pictured us making love Cupcake? How mind-blowing it would be?”
He leaves a trail of kisses up my neck, and nibbles at my earlobe as I moan softly, leaning towards him.
“I think about it a lot Ace, so much it worries me.” I laugh nervously and he smirks against my neck.
“Oh? What exactly do you think about Cupcake?”
I sigh gripping his knees on both sides of me.
“I’ve thought um...” I stumble on words I’ve never said to any man.
“Tell me.” He demands.
“I’ve thought of how you would feel like inside me. Stretching me... Taking my virginity.” His eyes go wide.
“Oh fuck... Stop right now, stop talking before I lose my restrain, Cupcake. I want to be inside you so bad that it takes over my dreams at night. Let’s just say you wouldn’t want to bring a UV light into my bedroom, in the morning.” He chuckles, and if it’s possible my face gets redder.
“Umm... why is that Ace?”
“Stop playing with me Cupcake, you know why.”
I giggle as Ace stops the horse in the middle of the field, far from peering eyes. This place is beautiful, with wildflowers everywhere, and healthy green grass.
