Dad is here. Don’t worry.

Hirvan sat on the edge of the bed, staring at his phone, his fingers hovering over the screen as he searched for Elian's contact. The room was quiet, but his mind was anything but. His thoughts were swirling in a chaotic mess of anxiety and fear.

Finally, with a deep breath, he typed out a message, his fingers trembling slightly as he wrote:

" I have a favour to ask you. Could you please get me out of here tonight?"

Hesitating only for a moment, he hit send, watching as the message disappeared into the digital void. Now all he could do was wait.

Leaning back, Hirvan tried to calm himself, but the unease wouldn't leave. He stood up suddenly, a wave of realization crashing over him. A groan escaped his lips as he rubbed his temples, muttering to himself.

'Why did I say his name out loud? What if the manager reported back to Lu Hanbing, telling him that I had guessed who was behind the upgrade?'
