Chapter 139 - The Hideout Revelation.

Blaze's Side

Blaze curled his fingers into tight fists as he crouched behind some thick bushes, his sharp eyes fixed on the isolated wooden cabin up ahead. The hideout was deep in the wilderness, hidden so well that no ordinary person would have found it. If not for his informant tipping him off an hour ago, he wouldn't have known this place even existed.

His heart was pounding like a war drum in his chest. Savannah had to be inside.

The air was thick with tension as he surveyed the surrounding. Tall trees loomed over him, their branches creating eerie shadows under the faint moonlight. The place was suffocatingly quiet, unnaturally so. It put him on edge.

His keen eyes scanned the cabin. It was an old, worn-down wooden house, small and unassuming, but he knew better than to take it lightly. Rodriguez was cunning, always one step ahead and ready to play dirty. If Savannah was still inside, one wrong move could cost him her life.

Blaze took a deep breath, bracing himself before signaling his men with a swift hand gesture. They moved like shadows, spreading out and taking their positions around the cabin. Not a sound, not a twitch—just a perfect setup, ready for an ambush.

His most trusted ally, Arthur, stayed close by, holding his weapon tight.

Blaze crept to the front of the cabin, pressing his back against the wooden wall. He peeked through a tiny window, barely seeing the darkness inside. No movement. No sound. The place looked empty, but something felt off. His gut twisted.

A trap? Or was he too late?

He exchanged a brief glance with Arthur, and the guy nodded, ready to go. Blaze took another deep breath, counting down silently in his head.

Three... Two... One...

He gave the door a powerful kick and he smashed the door open, his gun raised as he stormed in. Arthur followed close behind, checking the corners with his weapon drawn.

They were swallowed by the darkness.

For a moment, everything was still. The smell of wet wood and old air filled Blaze's nose. It was so quiet it felt weird.

Arthur reached for the nearest light switch and flipped it on.

The room flooded with dim yellow light, and the sight before them made Blaze freeze. His couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Rodriguez's Side

Rodriguez moved like a predator through the dense, dark forest, his boots crunching on the wet leaves. He was breathing hard, his head still throbbing from the wound Savannah had inflicted, but rage kept the pain at bay. The cold night air carried the distant sounds of rustling branches and an owl hooting, but there was no sign of her.

Frustrated, Rodriguez wiped the blood trickling down his forehead. His men were scattered throughout the forest, their flashlights cutting through the darkness. But she had disappeared without a trace.

"Spread out!" he snapped, his voice sharp and urgent. "She couldn't have gone far!"

His men moved quickly, disturbing the underbrush as they searched for any clue to her whereabouts.

Savannah was clever, he would give her that. She knew how to run and hide, but she was hurt and tired. Out here in the middle of nowhere, she didn't have anywhere to go.

Rodriguez kept moving forward, his keen eyes searching the ground for any signs. The mud was all messed up, with footprints everywhere. She had definitely been through here. He gave a smug smile.

But his patience was wearing thin.

"Where is she?" he muttered under his breath, his fingers fidgeting at his sides. The thought of her getting away made him furious.

Just as he was about to call out again, something caught his eye—a tiny glint on the ground, barely lit by the few beams of moonlight filtering through the trees.

A button.

Rodriguez squinted and crouched down, his fingers touching the object. He picked it up and held it close to his face. The silver was clear as day, and his lips twisted into a nasty grin as he realized what it meant.

Savannah's blazer.

This was hers.

A clear sign she'd been here.

His heart raced with excitement. Looking up, he spotted the direction ahead by the barely noticeable broken twigs and displaced leaves. It was subtle, but there was proof of her escape.

"Everyone!" Rodriguez shouted, his voice booming through the forest. "We're on the right path!"

His men hurried over, their weapons at the ready, faces eager.

"Spread out," he commanded, squeezing the button tightly. "She's nearby. I want her found. Now."

Without hesitation, they split up, their footsteps loud on the forest floor as they followed the faint trail Savannah left behind.

Rodriguez let out a sharp breath, a smug look spreading across his face.

"There's no place left to hide, Savannah," he murmured to himself before striding forward, his eyes full of menace.

The hunt was back on.

Blaze's Side

Blaze moved quickly through the dimly lit hideout, his footsteps echoing on the wooden floorboards. His men spread out, guns raised, checking every nook and cranny of the abandoned place. Dust floated in the air, stirred up by their movements, and the smell of wet wood mingled with something stronger—something illegal.

Arthur, walked beside him, shining a flashlight around the shadowy interior. The silence inside was creepy, almost choking.

"Boss," one of his guys called from the far end of the room. "Nothing here. Just some crates."

Blaze's eyebrows knitted together. He headed over, his heart beating steadily but his senses on edge.

Stacks of wooden crates filled the back of the hideout, each one tagged with secret symbols. He felt a familiar fury rise as he approached, knelt down, and pried open one of the crates. He lifted the lid to find neatly packed bags of white powder underneath.

Cocaine.

His cocaine.

His fingers curled into fists, and his jaw tightened. This wasn't some small stash; it was a whole shipment, maybe worth millions. Rodriguez had been keeping this to himself, stealing right from under his nose.

Blaze slammed the crate shut, taking a deep breath to keep his temper in check.

"Boss," Arthur said, stepping closer. "There are thousands of these crates."

Blaze let out a breath and rubbed his face. Rodriguez had been running his operation way deeper than he thought. This wasn't just defiance—it was war.

His thoughts were broken by the sharp buzz of his phone in his pocket. He fished it out and put it to his ear.

"Talk," he said.

"Boss," the voice on the other end replied, urgent and hushed. "There's another hideout. Deep in the southern forest."

Blaze tensed up. The southern forest? His mind jumped to Savannah.

The same place.

Could it be?

For a second, his heart raced. If Savannah was there—if she was still alive—this might be his only shot to reach her before Rodriguez does.

His voice was low but strong. "No moves until I get there. Don't engage. Copy?"

"Copy that, boss."

Blaze hung up and stuffed his phone back in his pocket. His fists balled up at his sides.

"Arthur," he turned, his voice sharp. "We're done here. Leave a team to clear this place out. The rest of us are heading to the southern forest. Now."

Arthur didn't questions. "Understood, boss."

In a moment, orders were given, and his men prepared to move out. The hideout would be stripped clean, the stolen product seized-but Blaze had no time to revel in that victory.

Because she was out there.

And he was going to find her before Rodriguez did.
