Chapter 147 - The Anniversary Week.

Day 2: Exploring the Wild

The morning after their magical anniversary night, Savannah woke up to the soft glow of sunlight streaming through the large windows of their cabin. Blaze was already up, sitting in a chair by the window with a steaming cup of coffee in hand, watching the snow-dusted trees outside.

"Morning, sleepyhead," he said as she stretched and yawned, a content smile spreading across her face.

Savannah got out of bed and joined him, snuggling into his lap as he put his arm around her. "Morning," she mumbled, leaning into his warmth.

After breakfast, Blaze surprised her again—this time with a hike through the nearby trails. He'd packed a small picnic complete with her favorite sandwiches and hot chocolate in thermoses.

The hike was refreshing, the cool mountain air filling their lungs as they walked hand in hand. They were amazed by the beauty of the snow-covered landscape—the way the sunlight sparkled on the frost-covered branches and the and the distant peaks that looked like they'd been dusted with powdered sugar.

When they got to the scenic lookout point, Blaze spread out a blanket, and they sat together, sipping hot chocolate while enjoying the breathtaking view. Savannah leaned her head on his shoulder, feeling a sense of peace she hadn't felt in a long time.

"You always know how to make me feel like the luckiest woman around." she said softly.

Blaze chuckled pressing a kiss to her forehead. "That's because you are, baby girl."

Day 3: A Day of Pampering

Blaze insisted that the third day be all about relaxation. He'd arranged for a private spa day at the cabin, complete with professional masseuses who came to pamper them both.

Savannah couldn't stop laughing when Blaze grumbled about the mud mask applied on his face. Though he couldn't help but ended up laughing too when he saw equally silly she looked in the mirror.

After the massages and facials, they relaxed in the outdoor hot tub, even though it was surrounded by snow. The warm water made them feel cozy. Savannah leaned back against Blaze, her eyes closed, listening to the water bubbling and the birds chirping in the distance.

"This feels like heaven," she said.

Blaze kissed her shoulder and said softly,

Blaze kissed her shoulder, his voice a low murmur. "As long as you're happy, that's all that matters to me."

Day 4: Snow Adventure

The fourth day was filled with playful adventures. Blaze had arranged for snowmobiles, and they spent the morning racing each other through the snowy trails. Savannah's laughter echoed through the trees as she tried and failed to beat Blaze in a race to the top of a small hill.

"You cheated!" she accused playfully as he helped her off the snowmobile.

Blaze just smiled. "I don't cheat, Mrs. Baldwin. I win."

She rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile. "Next time, I'll win."

In the afternoon, they built a snowman outside the cabin. Blaze got pretty competitive, even about that. Savannah laughed so hard until her sides hurt when he insisted their snowman needed "muscles" and sculpted absurdly a big arms onto the frostly figure.

That evening, they roasted marshmallows over a fire pit Blaze had set up outside the cabin. They snuggled up in warm blankets, made s'mores, and shared stories while the stars twinkled above them.

Day 5: Romantic Dinner Under the Stars

On the fifth evening, Blaze surprised Savannah with a candlelit dinner under the stars. A clear dome had been set up outside the cabin, shielding them from the cold while allowing them an uninterrupted view of the night sky.

Inside the dome, there was a nicely set table with candles, fairy lights, and fresh flowers. Blaze had hired a private chef who served them a decadent of her favorite dishes.

While they ate, they talked about their future dreams—traveling to new places, building a family, and making more memories like these. Worth remembering.

"You've given me so much," Savannah said, her voice full of emotion. "I don't know how I'll ever thank you."

Blaze reached across the table, took her hand, and said, "You thank me every day just by being you. And by my side."

Day 6: A Quiet Morning and a Surprise Gift

On their second-to-last day, Savannah woke up to the smell of pancakes. She found Blaze in the kitchen, flipping pancakes with an apron that read, "World's Best Husband."

"Trying to earn extra points?" she teased, wrapping her arm around him from behind.

"Always," he replied with a grin, leaning in to kiss her cheek.

After breakfast, Blaze handed her a small gift box. Inside was a scrapbook full of photos and keepsakes from their first year of marriage.

Savannah flipped through the pages, tears rolling down her face as she remembered each moment. "Blaze, this is the sweetest gift anyone's ever given me."

Blaze pulled her into a hug. "This is just the beginning, Honey. There's so much more to come."

Day 7: Goodbye to the Cabin

On their last day at the cabin, they felt a mix of happiness and sadness. They spent the morning packing up, both not wanting to leave the place that felt like a safe haven and a symbol of their love and growth.

Before they left, Blaze took Savannah back to the scenic lookout where they had their picnic. They stood there together, taking in the amazing view one last time.

"Thank you for this amazing and meaningful week, Blaze." Savannah said, her voice full of gratitude.

Blaze kissed her forehead. "Thank you for being my everything."

As they drove away from the cabin, Savannah looked back, her heart heavy. She reached over and took Blaze's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Ready to head home?" he asked, looking at her with a soft smile.

"With you, I'm ready for anything," she replied.

Their week in the mountains wasn't just about celebrating their anniversary—it was a way to reaffirm their love, remember their journey, and a promise for the future. Together, they knew they could face whatever came their way.
