Ethan decided not to return Anastasia to her house because it would be disrespectful. After all, she was unconscious. To avoid worrying the Reeds, he returned Anastasia to his Emerald Coast County home, a villa amid Jade Lake.
On his way, Ethan called someone and said, "Make the Voss family disappear from Emerald Coast County within three days."
"Yes!" Hearing Ethan's voice, the guy on the other end dared not be negligent.
At this point, the Voss family did not think a disaster would strike.
Alfie Voss, Gudrich's father, was the patriarch of the Voss family.
Although he had long since handed over his family's big enterprises to his sons and was no longer involved, he would periodically inquire about them.
Alfie was lying relaxed on a comfy couch, flipping through newspapers.
When he noticed the news headline 'The Orion Industries has settled a partnership for a vital project in Emerald Coast County' in bold on the newspaper's finance section, he removed his glasses and sighed with jealousy. Such collaboration is worthy of him being envy!
"The Vosses have been working hard to complete that project for a long time, but we have never been successful. Instead, the Orion Industries acquired it. "The Orion Industries is something!"
Next to him, a man in his late forties grabbed Alfie's spectacles, carefully washed them, and placed them in a glasses case. He then answered, "Indeed. The Orion Industries may have only recently arrived in the country but is already making significant progress. Not only do businesses of all sizes in Emerald Coast County want to work with it, but it has also secured all major projects. It's awe-inspiring!"
Lucius Voss, Alfie Voss's eldest son and older brother of Gudrich Voss, was a middle-aged man.
Alfie smiled as he watched Lucius's moves. "Put your glasses there. Later on, a servant will come and put things away. "Why would you bother doing that?"
"It isn't much trouble. After I pack them, you can use them the following time." Lucius smiled. He had always been dutiful and met all of Alfie's demands. He would do whatever he could on his own, refusing to accept assistance from anyone.
"Since the Orion Industries has such great potential, why don't we try cooperating with it?" Lucius asked.
Alfie Voss exhaled. "Why? When the Orion Industries stated it was looking for a partner in Emerald Coast County, we quickly dispatched someone. Everything was going well until two days ago when the Orion Industries abruptly changed its mind and ignored us."
"What is going on? Have we offended the Orion Industries in some way? Or is it so pompous and high that it looks down upon us? Maybe there is a reason behind that we are not aware of." Lucius frowned.
Alfie Voss exhaled. "Who knows?" Anyway, we have yet to find out. Lucius, when you have time, contact Mr. Boysen, the general manager of Orion Industries. We should improve our relationship with Orion Industries and figure out where the problem is. We should also find a way to collaborate with it. Such opportunity only comes rarely.
"Yes, father. I will deal with Mr. Boysen. "Rest assured," Lucius quickly agreed.
"Yes, you're someone I can trust." Alfie Voss patted the back of his eldest son's hand and nodded in approval. "By the way, how's the matter with Gudrich and Alaric going?"
Lucius grinned after hearing his inquiry. "Everything should be fine. Yesterday, Gudrich asked me to introduce him to a qualified hitman. The king of underground boxing is cruel. He can easily deal with the unimportant Ethan Knight. They should have taken revenge by now."
Alfie nodded. "That's good. How can we be bullied by that child and allow him to get away with beating Alaric so badly? If we don't get our revenge, will anyone dare to take advantage of us? But you have to be careful. Don't allow Gudrich to go overboard. Don't cause further problems."
"Okay, I understand, Dad. Do not worry. Gudrich is my brother. I'll definitely help him." Lucius nodded and smiled. To him, family is all matter.
Someone from the Voss family dashed over and yelled, "Bad news, Mr. Voss Senior." Dreamscape Media, the Pegasus, and several more entertainment and bathhouse establishments have been confiscated!"
"What?!" Alfie jumped up, shocked, and his demeanor shifted. "What is going on?" "Why were they seized so suddenly? What is happening?"
The family member sputtered, "Someone reported us, and they discovered some illegal items in the companies..." Some of our artists have also exposed us, alleging that we pushed them... Anyway, they uncovered a lot of evidence against us!"
Lucius quickly went forward, grabbed him by the collar, and yelled angrily, "Didn't I tell you long ago to hide those things that shouldn't be visible? Aren't those artists under stringent supervision? "Why are they suddenly suing us? You did not do your job well!"
"I-I don't know..." The family member stared at Lucius, whose face was twisted into an angry grimace, and he began shaking in terror and on the edge of tears.
"Oh dear, oh no...this is bad." Alfie murmured to himself as he threw himself upon the sofa.
The Vosses' companies were primarily tied to the entertainment and prostitution industries. They provided for the family's needs.
Of course, they couldn't run their enterprises publicly. So, on the surface, they were known as media corporations and entertainment establishments. But in private, they engaged in many illicit deals. These were the secret of their dealings.
Because of their broad network of connections, the Vosses could avoid the tight rules and purges. However, they were apprehended unexpectedly and charged with extensive evidence against them today. It was unprecedented. And they were not informed in advance.
Furthermore, if all of their wrongdoing were uncovered, there would be a massive uproar, and the Vosses would undoubtedly suffer significant losses, even if they did not collapse!
Lucius calmed down a little and remarked resentfully, "Dad, there's certainly something wrong! If it was only one corporation and something bad was discovered, we could blame it on our negligence. However, the fact that so many people have been affected is no coincidence! Someone must be intentionally attempting to harm us! Someone is targeting us. We need to find out who did we offended!"
