Alfie nodded. Lucius was right. There must be more than meets the eye! They need to investigate as soon as possible but with care.
If they did not resolve it effectively, the Vosses would incur significant damages! Damages that can really harm the company.
"The issue is urgent. Call everyone over right now for a meeting to discuss countermeasures!" Alfie shouted.
Soon, all of the Voss family's direct descendants and the company's senior executives assembled in the Voss family mansion.
Almost all the firms registered in the Vosses' name had been seized. Given how quickly it had spread, these folks had undoubtedly heard of it. Alfie Voss even called a meeting late at night. It was undoubtedly because of the issue.
Alfie sat in the center of the couch, looking at the scores of people standing in the living room. His eyes narrowed. "Everyone, tell me the truth. Did you recently offend a high-ranking official?
As soon as Alfie spoke, he inquired about the situation, and everyone began to suspect that the Vosses had offended a formidable figure of rank, resulting in the crisis. However, since most of their businesses were illegal, who knew if they had unintentionally insulted someone?
For example, two years ago, a Voss noticed a beautiful girl dressed in modest and ordinary clothes, so he used whatever means necessary to lure her to one of their companies, only to discover later that she came from an outstanding family. Ultimately, the Vosses incurred significant losses, had to apologize, and found themselves owing many people favors to get the woman's family to let them go. This particular incident is not an easy task to deal with in the first place.
Furthermore, this was only due to the woman's minor injuries. Otherwise, the Vosses would have needed more to settle it.
Of course, they didn't get involved in such things often, and Alfie had already taught them a hard lesson after the previous episode.
However, slip-ups would occur now and again. Who knew when they could have offended someone?
Everyone shook their heads in unison.
"I do not know. I've been acting appropriately lately and haven't done anything to annoy anyone."
"I haven't either!"
"Me, too. "I did not offend anyone."
Alfie narrowed his eyes and glared at them threateningly. "I want to know the truth!" If I find out someone is lying to me, you will immediately be cast out of the family!"
Everyone panicked when they heard this. But even after racking their minds for a long time, they couldn't recall an instance in which they had insulted someone.
At this point, Alfie discovered that someone was missing: Gudrich Voss.
"Where is Gudrich?" Wasn't he informed about the meeting?" Alfie questioned, looking at Lucius with disdain.
Lucius quickly replied, "I was about to report to you. But since everyone has assembled here for the conference, I can't say it aloud..."
Alfie's expression became melancholy. "Speak. We are all family; therefore, there is nothing you need to hide."
Lucius sighed as he looked around at the eagerly listening gathering. "Gudrich is in the hospital right now." He had a broken toe and had sustained some injuries. Alaric was also seriously hurt and was being taken care in the hospital."
"What?" Alfie was startled. His son and grandson were hospitalized, and Alaric required resuscitation.
"Who did it?" Alfie asked with an irritated attitude.
Lucius shook his head. "I do not know. Gudrich was furious and didn't say anything. I will ask him again later once he cooled down already.
At this point, Voss abruptly stated, "Gudrich and Alaric were hurt tonight, and all of our enterprises were taken. Could there be a connection between the two? Something is amiss."
These words caused everyone to frown and go into serious thought.
Indeed, if Gudrich and Alaric Voss upset some big shot outside, were severely injured, and even had all of the Vosses' enterprises seized, that would make sense!
Everyone turned to gaze at Alfie, who seemed frustrated. "Drag that sinful son back here at once! Bring him here!" …
In a villa in the heart of Jade Lake, Emerald Coast County.
Gideon Boysen called Ethan. "Mr. Knight, per your directions, all of the Vosses' companies and joints have been seized. The proof has been gathered, and they cannot dispute it. This time, the Voss family will not survive."
Ethan showed his approval, saying, "Good." "I want them to die for good."
Boysen quickly replied, "Don't worry about this. I've had people produce a large amount of proof, images, and recordings of the victims' complaints, which have all been posted on the internet. It sparked significant outrage online and drew the attention of numerous departments. Even the Vosses' extensive connections in Emerald Coast County cannot do anything about this.
Ethan was glad to hear this.
Many of the Vosses' heinous actions violated the law and went against ethical and moral principles. Once their corrupt activities were uncovered, indignation and public discussion would undoubtedly occur. Even if the Vosses attempted to suppress it, it would be ineffective.
"Has the matter over at the Spark Enterprises been investigated?" Ethan abruptly inquired.
"Yes, I was about to report it to you. Susan Clide, Miss Reed's former assistant and current deputy head of the business department, sent Miss Reed to explore cooperation with Dreamscape Media. As far as I know, she attempted to make things challenging for Miss Reed multiple times today. Should we get rid of her?
With an icy stare, Ethan responded, "No, don't fire her yet. "I still need her for something." Sacking her right away would provide her with an easy out. She messed with the wrong person.
"Yes, Mr. Knight!"
Ethan placed the phone away and looked at the enormous bed.
Anastasia lay on the bed, sound asleep.
She frowned at times and appeared to be unable to sleep soundly.
Gudrich Voss had given her a potent sleeping tablet. Assuming she slept well, she should be up by tomorrow morning.
Ethan stepped to the side of the bed, knelt over, and gently touched Anastasia's brow.
"I will not let those who attempted to hurt you, especially the Voss family and Susan Clide, go unpunished. "Sleep peacefully," Ethan whispered tenderly into Anastasia's ear.
Anastasia, frowning in her sleep, eventually relaxed as if she had heard Ethan's words. At the Voss family mansion...
Gudrich was still wearing gauze around his toes and was assisted into the hallway.
Everyone waiting in the hall turned to look at him.
Gudrich quickly recognized Alfie in the center. He rapidly strode forward, his eyes filled with anguish as if he had been mistreated severely.
"Dad, you need to assist me! That rascal almost killed Alaric, and he continued to threaten me. The warrior I hired even turned on me and defected to him. If I weren't so lucky, I wouldn't be able to see you right now!" Gudrich yelled, pointing at the marks on his neck.
Smack!
However, Gudrich did not receive the words of comfort he expected but a loud slap on the face from Alfie.
