Chapter 37: Trap!

Priscilla felt uncomfortable. She liked cute people, and seeing Edda made her feel nauseous at first sight. But her good manners kept her from showing it.

However, she would teach Yae a lesson later. Saying Edda would get along with her was a joke!

To get along with her, the first requirement was to be interesting, and the second was to be good-looking!

Priscilla was a bit of a face-con after all...

...

Facing the visiting guest, the abnormally tall and obese woman with heavy makeup, Edda Rayfast was the first to speak, "Are you Lady Priscilla Barielle?"

"You're holding your head too high. Who do you think you are, addressing me in such a manner?" Priscilla frowned, displeased as she looked at the 'mountain of flesh' before her.

"And you take offense at that? Princess, It's a matter of height difference, so it can't be helped."

Edda Rayfast was a towering, obese woman, so large that even Graham would have to crane his neck to look up at her. It was no surprise that Priscilla was annoyed.

She hated being looked down upon.

"Looking down on me is still disrespectful, you could always bury half your waist into the floor. The fact that you haven't even installed a mechanism that opens up the floor is what's making me so unhappy."

Seeing Priscilla's pouting expression, Graham couldn't help but chuckle. Then, with a stern face, he shouted at Edda, "Hey, did you hear that, you aesthetically challenged fat woman? Hurry up and bury your waist into the floor! How dare you disrespect the princess like this? Are you tired of living?"

"Discriminating against someone's appearance is quite rude. Is this the quality of the Lady's attendants?" Edda's dark, flabby face twitched as she spoke, all while secretly observing Priscilla's reaction.

"That's right, Sir Graham. As a guest, It's not good to speak like that to the host." Yae covered her mouth and giggled, scolding him from the side.

Even if someone is ugly, you shouldn't say it out loud.

"Huh? Who cares if it's good or not! Anyway, Edda was it? You are so ugly, you're offending me. Hurry up and bury your waist into the floor! How dare you make the princess unhappy? You've got a death wish!"

"Enough, Graham." Priscilla shot her eccentric knight a glare, suppressing her amusement, and coldly said, "My knight's behavior is none of your concern. Today, I'm here for only one thing... The timber manufacturing and the riverside watermills under your control. There are traitors among them with ill intentions. Have you noticed?"

"Ill intentions?" Edda murmured, using her caterpillar-like fingers to lightly cover her blood-red lips. Her expression made it clear that she wasn't ignorant.

"Starting from Coffleton, three villages along the Tenril River basin have already been affected. Yet, why is it that only your village remains untouched? Can you explain this, Edda Rayfast?"

Graham coldly stared at the woman. The sensations from the lesser spirits had alerted him to something unusual about her body.

"Well, I do know some information," Edda hesitated, then nodded.

"Good, speak then." Priscilla leaned back into the luxurious sofa, her ruby-like eyes gleaming with intelligence.

"Very well. If this matter can be resolved here, then…" Edda sighed pretentiously, but the corners of her mouth curled into an inexplicably ugly smile.

*Click-clack—*

As soon as Edda finished speaking, the floor beneath Graham suddenly split open. The exquisite furniture, the sofa, and even the carpet all fell naturally into the abyss below, a bottomless darkness!

Graham was startled. He wanted to use wind magic to stabilize himself and find a way back up, but a tremendous force suddenly pressed down on his shoulders, sending him plummeting downward!

"Oh dear, my apologies, Sir Graham! I'll pray for you!" It turns out that the 'tremendous force' was Yae!

The maid had reacted in an instant, using Graham's shoulders as a stepping stone to latch onto the chandelier on the ceiling. Sacrificing Graham, she had avoided falling into the abyss herself!

"It seems you've been too careless," Edda smiled triumphantly, her flabby cheeks trembling, much to Priscilla's disgust.

"Too careless?" Priscilla calmly questioned.

"To show hostility toward me so openly, how utterly insane!" Edda continued.

"Is that so? Accusing me of being careless... It seems your level of intelligence is truly pitiful. You deserve to die a thousand deaths!" Even though she had been tricked, Priscilla remained completely unflustered, her attitude as arrogant and self-centered as ever.

This was Priscilla Barielle!

"Hehe, I don't dislike your haughty noble tone. However, there will come a time when you beg for mercy!" said Edda as she examined Priscilla's stunning beauty, growing increasingly satisfied.

As she spoke, two expressionless young men emerged from the doors on either side, closing in on Priscilla.

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

Black kunai suddenly shot out from behind Priscilla, precisely piercing the foreheads of Edda and the two men. The force was so strong that it likely pierced their brains!

*Thud!*

Edda's massive body collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

Yae, who had just killed all three, timidly looked at Priscilla and spoke, "My apologies, my lady. I got carried away and ended up killing Edda as well…"

"No matter." Priscilla waved her hand dismissively, her voice cold.

"Although I would have preferred to execute them myself, these people aren't worth disregarding the loyalty of my attendants."

In other words, she wasn't blaming Yae. On the contrary, Yae had acted to protect her and deserved a reward.

"However, more importantly…"

Priscilla turned her gaze to the spot where Graham had fallen, remaining silent.

"From this height… Wow! I can't even see the bottom! My apologies, my lady, but Sir Graham must have already perished..." Yae put on an adorable expression, as if she had not just stepped on Graham's shoulders, causing him to fall into the abyss.

Falling into a bottomless dark abyss would surely result in death...
