The twins still pretended to be unconscious when their father along with Jarett and Lecter walked in.
"They look so much better, thank goodness." Lecter breathed a sigh of relief.
Agnar just watched them for a while before moving forward.
"May I?" Jarett offered, looking at Agnar for permission.
He nodded once.
Jarett moved closer to the twins and just stood over them.
"Hm?" He raised a brow. "It's completely gone? They're completely healed. For that much venom to get into their body and the damage that it caused, this is still too little of a time for them to be perfectly fine." He pondered.
Lecter didn't know why he was just staring at them.
"Aw geez, It's getting harder to pretend to be unconscious when someone is this close to you. Who is he? Why is he even here?!" Kiyan was frustrated about Jarett's presence.
Jarett held both their hands in his and closed his eyes for a moment.
"Asides from the little drawback on physique which is normal, they are okay. The venom is completely purged from their systems too. It's untraceable. And the drawback on mana has regenerated completely." He said and looked back at Agnar.
'He really does have a lot of knowledge. Some sort of great healer as well?' Jarett wondered. The twins should have died, but Agnar made sure that didn't happen. How? Jarett wanted to know.
"They are absolutely clean. Healed and okay. Oh and, they have regained consciousness." Jarett beamed.
"Drat! He knew!" Raten scrunched his nose.
"Really?!" Lecter asked, beaming with joy.
"You've learned a lot already. Control and Explore." Agnar said to Jarett. "Now, what do I get in return for helping you?" He rubbed on his chin. His eyes then darted to where his sons still kept up the act of being unconscious.
"We'll talk about that later." Agnar brushed it off.
"Hey, I thought you said they were awake. They're still not moving." Lecter said, bringing Agnar's attention to the twins.
"Hm? He must have been mistaken then." He said. "Just tell Marie to serve breakfast."
"Marie?" Lecter wondered. There was no one by that name in the house. But, to his surprise the supposedly unconscious humans bolted out of the room.
Their eyes opened at once and they blasted out of the room causing a gust of wind to blow past the three standing there.
"Marie?"
"She's here?!"
They ran into the kitchen but found it empty. And worse, nothing was cooking.
"We were tricked." Kiyan placed his hand on his forehead.
"How did we fall for that!" Raten pulled on his hair. Thankfully they had grown back as well.
And then, the reality of their body's state hit them. They fell to the floor on their faces. After being immobile for two months, it only made sense they wouldn't be able to move right away.
They were too bummed to think about that anyway. There was no food and that was worse than anything else to them.
They lay sobbing on the floor, ignoring the footsteps that approached them.
Agnar bent over and picked them by their clothes. He lifted them off the floor and brought them to his eye level. They hung from his hold with their feet dangling in the air. Their shoulders slouched and they sniffled.
"What were you thinking rushing off like that?" Agnar asked. The twins were still sad about the lack of food to pay him any attention.
"You need to rest well. Tomorrow we'll continue from where we left off." Agnar stated. The twins groaned.
"Tomorrow?! Isn't that too sudden?!" Raten argued.
"We just regained consciousness. Can't we have a break at least?" Kiyan was almost pleading.
"Yes, today is your break." Agnar replied, looking as indifferent as he usually did. "You're perfectly fine now. And by tomorrow you will feel even better. So, enjoy the time you have to rest." He threw Kiyan over his shoulder and held Raten in one arm.
He walked back to their room and threw them on the bed and then left.
"Wait! What about food?!" Raten called out to his father. But Agnar just left.
One-eye was still sleeping soundly.
"What are we supposed to eat now?" Kiyan grumbled and buried his face in his bed.
"You two really are something." Lecter said, watching them.
"I'm honestly baffled you survived something like that." Jarett said and moved closer. He sat on one of the beds and smiled.
"Do you remember me? We fought once. Though I can't tell which one of you I fought." He waved at both of them. Kiyan took his head off the bed and looked at him.
"I wanted a rematch at first. I wanted to go all out, but seeing a glimpse of what you two have put your bodies through, I would die if we went all out. But, that will change really soon." He said, still smiling brightly.
"What is this human saying? I'm just hungry. Food, food, food," were the only words ringing in Raten's head.
"Raten? Kiyan? Can you please tell me what happened?" Lecter asked. He also moved forward and sat on one of the beds.
"How did both of you end up like that?"
"Ugh.. you both and words I do not understand, I am just hungry." Kiyan grabbed a pillow and placed it over his head.
"Food, food, food, food," still was the only thing Raten could hear.
Raymond then walked in. He beamed when he saw them and proceeded to hug Raten. Well, rather than hugging, he was squishing his head.
"My student is awake! For this Kiyan, I'll let you touch my sword." He said.
"Really?!" Kiyan immediately sat up on the bed.
"I, I um waten." Raten tried to speak but his words were muffled due to Raymond squeezing it hard against his chest. "Mph, let go. I'm Raten!" He pushed his head out and struggled to breathe.
"Oh?" Raymond said. "For deceiving me Kiyan, you'll no longer get to touch the sword." He stood to leave.
"Wha- But you're the one who was mistaken! I just want to hold it once. Please uncle." Kiyan pleaded with his arms clasped.
"This place has more life, finally." Lecter mumbled to himself watching the twins.
"Hold on.." Raymond left and returned rather quickly.
"The old man made me get this on my way back." He placed two small trays of food in front of the twins. "You know, that tavern closest to the hill has the best food."
"Meat!!"
The brothers grabbed the food immediately and started chowing down.
"This tastes like I'm on the road to paradise." Kiyan said with gleaming eyes.
"Mm, It's so good, I can taste heaven." Raten munched slowly.
They then looked at Lecter and Jarett and became cautious.
"They won't take it, will they?" Kiyan pulled his tray of food closer to him.
"They won't beat us up. Wait no, even if they tried, I can fight back." Raten also drew his closer staring daggers at them. "But, I'm still weak right now. They are savages like everyone else and will steal my food. I must be vigilant!" He put another scoop in his mouth not taking his eyes off them.
"You can eat properly. We're not going to take it from you." Lecter smiled at them. He could tell from the faces they were making what was in their minds, although not accurately.
"You're not going to take it?" Kiyan asked, still not trusting.
"They won't." Raymond sighed. "Just eat." He left.
Hesitatingly, the brothers kept the plates back on their thighs and began eating slowly. They still watched the other two. Seeing they really weren't making advances towards them, the twins relaxed and ate.
One-eye was still sleeping.
