It's nighttime and Ashley, Jason, and KK are sitting at the park. "Hey guys, I should go home. My parents are probably worried," KK says, getting up and running home, leaving just Ashley and Jason in the night at the park.
Jason speaks, "You should stay the night at my house tonight," he says as he looks at her and walks closer.
"But why? My dad will get worried—" she is suddenly cut off by Jason touching her cheek.
"It's not safe at your house, so please just listen," he says as he looks at her, ready to explain if she has questions.
"Jason, what do you mean it's not safe at my house?" she looks scared and worried as she looks at him.
Jason sighs deeply and starts to speak. "It's about time I tell you what you saw in your closet," he says as he looks down, knowing it was time while Ashley just sighs and nods, agreeing to go with him.
When they reach his house, they go up to his room and sit on the bed in silence for a few minutes until Jason speaks. "The thing you saw in your closet..." He stops as he looks down, not ready to tell her yet but knowing he should. He looks up at her. "It was your mother," he says as he looks at her to see her reaction.
Ashley chuckles a bit, thinking it's a joke until she takes another look at Jason's face, which didn't look like he was joking. "Wait, you're serious? But how was that my mother when she's on a business trip!?" she says, scared and confused, thinking of how her mother turned into that thing in her closet.
Jason holds her hand. "Look, me and KK found out about these things called gorgons, and they possess the minds of the evil," he says as he looks at her and holds her hand, hoping she doesn't freak out.
"But does that mean my mom was..." She freezes and starts to cry, trying not to hold back tears, but she couldn't, knowing she not only lost her mom but was lied to.
Jason hugs her as she cries, allowing her to let it out, knowing how she feels. "Hey, it's alright, just let it out, okay? I'm here, okay?" he says, making sure to hold her tighter. As she hears those words, she knew she was in a safe place.
After she was done crying, she fell asleep. Jason moved her under the blanket and rubbed her head. He reached for his phone and called someone. The phone rings for a while until the other person answers. A voice can be heard.
"Yeah, what is it?" The voice on the other end is KK, who sounds like he's about to go to sleep.
"I told her about the gorgons and that her mother was one of them," Jason says as he sighs and looks at Ashley who is sleeping. He then looks at his hands.
"Look, in the morning we need to get her out of here and leave, okay?" KK says from the phone, not in his happy and cheerful tone but a serious and sad tone, realizing he has to leave this place which was the only home he had.
"Understood. We will make plans to leave and we will only stay in contact with my parents for money," Jason says before he hangs up the phone and sleeps next to Ashley.
