Evacuation

After the unfortunate event that occurred on the day July 31st, 2024 where a gigantic meteorite obliterated half of humanity, although the military grew in power and importance it still wasn't enough to fully hold back the deadly Gorefiends the gigantic meteorite brought along.

There are only Five main Strongholds that are left standing in the world, two in North America, one in south America, one in Europe, and one in Asia.

Each Stronghold have similar main structures, they start from the insides, which is the core, the outer core and lastly the outskirts.

Depending on one's social status, power, and wealth is where they are usually located at, the top of the top are located near the core, higher class to middle class are located near the outer core and the lower class are located near the outskirts.

Because of this structure the outskirts are the first to be attacked if anything occurs, leaving the poor as cannon fodder.

The Orphanage where Zero had lived in for Eight years was located in the outskirts. Luckily for Zero the postion where it was located, were nearer to the outer core than it was to the outskirts edge, so not much Gorefiends were regularly seen in the area as it would be nearer to the edge.

It came to a bit of surprise for Zero to hear that there was a Gorefiends invasion in the area, Zero knew it could only mean one thing, the Gorefiends had gotten pass the outskirts and were heading towards the outercore.

"It seems Chaos is approaching" Zero mumbled beneath his breath.

Although he had other things to be worrying about thought Zero facing the wooden door exit.

Little did the wooden door exit know that for the last Four years he's be doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10-kilometer run every single day!

As Zero smashes the wooden door exit with one punch as it goes flying away.

As Zero snaps back to reality, he walks back towards his bed, kneeling down and reaching his hand under the bed to pull out a wooden chest.

Pulling the wooden chest from under the bed and opening it, it showed all the random things Zero had collected over the past Four years as a way to waste time.

Rummaging through the random items in hopes to find something that could help with this Predicament, one of the items he found was a screw driver.

Taking the screw driver out the wooden chest and into his hand Zero made his way towards the wooden door exit and started unscrewing the nails holding the door hinges onto the wooden door exit.

After three minutes of unscrewing Zero did the last unscrewing as the wooden door exit came falling over towards the outside of the room, as It revealed the culprit behind the stucking of the Door, A Chair!

Scoffing at the Chair, Zero thought to himself * A chair? So original. *

Making his way through the doorway and into the dim short hallway, he walked unitl he got to the downstairs steps and half way through the steps he stopped to quickly glance around using the height as an advantage to see that he had really been abandoned as they all evacuated for themselves.

Finishing the remaining steps Zero made his way towards the front exit of the Orphanage, stopping in front of the exit to turn around to look at his home for Eight years, although there were more bad memories than good he valued the good more as he reminiscented about the times he finished his first book here, one last goodbye as Zero made his way out.

As Zero exited the Orphanage the Suns rays quickly hit Zero brown eyes reflecting back into the clear blue sky.

Out of all the days, a sunny day was the day the siren went off thought Zero, although the siren had not indicated where to evacuate too, Zero figured it would be into the city as that was more closer to the outer core than this area.

Looking around Zero notice that not a single soul was in sight, everyone had already evacuated quickly, not wanting to experience the event that happened to him Four years ago Zero quickly started on the move towards the city.

By foot reaching the city would take around an hour, as Zero walked through the paved dirt ground trees from both sides of the body.

Zero took this time to relax and calm down, but the feeling was quickly interrupted as to Zero right side a few meters away, bush shuffles could be heard finally the culprit of the sound was revealed, the culprit was all too familiar to Zero eyes, how could he forget, the creature that scratched his left leg.

Although it wasn't the same One as Four years ago they did share a similar resemblance a distorted white deadly spiky skeleton creature with sharp red eyes and and a distorted mouth with sharp teeths laced in blood as blood drips out like saliva.

Instead of running away in the opposite direction, Zero pulled out the screwdriver from before and gripped it tightly in his right arm has he started charging towards the Gorefiend who used his claw hands to rub his eyes as if indicating is what he saw fake.

Also reacting to the boys charge the Gorefiend charged towards as well maybe wanting to teach this brat about newton's third law.

When the Gorefiend got close enough it let its monster instincts take over as it stretched its long white spiky skeleton arms to grab the Boy with its claws, But Zero had predicted this reaction and quickly countering it with his left arm slightly pushing the long white spiky skeleton arm to the side, then quickly using the screw driver in his right hand closing in the gap and stabing the Gorefiend right sharp red eyes making sure to push alittle more in as the Gorefiend Screamed out a screeching sound.

Zero took this opportunity to slide past the Gorefiend and run towards the direction of the city.

After a Few minutes of sprinting not looking back once, Zero finally glanced over his shoulder to see he had lost the Gorefiend in his tracks, Still Zero kept running, unitl he took a minute break to catch his breath as he started walking again.

Out in the distance Zero could finally see the tall buildings of the city over shadowing the trees as he made his way closer.

Getting closer, Zero had now gotten a better view, The buildings that were overshadowing the trees had smoke coming out of them, some were half destroyed while some were fully destroyed onto the ground only leaving rubble behind.

Although Zero was surprised, he figured it would be more dangerous to go back towards the outskirts than the outer core as Zero made his way inside the city.

The sunny sky that was raying was now coming to a close as the moon started taking over the shift.

a lone orphan boy navigates the desolate, ruined city. Amidst the wreckage, he stands on top of debris, staring into the darkness with a deadly hatred for everything.
