Chapter 88 Target: Sky Island

The next day, at dawn...

Robin and Zala woke up in Gnar's large bed, which was big enough to accommodate five people comfortably.

As soon as the two opened their eyes, they noticed the red marks on Gnar's strong body and broad chest. The wild scenes from the previous night instantly flashed through their minds, making them both blush.

As they covered their youthful and graceful bodies with blankets and slowly stood up, they glanced at each other, their faces flushed with embarrassment. They noticed the aftermath of their night— the cabin looked like a chaotic battlefield.

Understanding each other's feelings without needing words, they each went to their respective rooms to freshen up.

An hour later, after they had finished washing, they came to the deck with rosy faces. Gnar was already engaged in his daily practice on the deck, as if he had returned to three months ago. He was wearing sea stone handcuffs and performing various weight-bearing exercises while seated.

Seeing Robin and Zala appear, Gnar was reminded of the happiness from the previous night. A satisfied smile appeared on his face, but upon seeing the cute looks from Robin and Zala, his smile became even more inappropriate.

Robin, having let go of her sadness from the previous day, resumed her confident and seductive demeanor and asked,

"My dear, are we heading to Sky Island next?"

Gnar could clearly sense that the term "dear" now felt genuine, no longer just an affectionate term but something akin to what one would say to a spouse. This made him happy. He let go of the one-ton barbell he had been using and replied cheerfully,

"Ah, how has your investigation been over the past three months?"

When it came to business, Robin was serious as she reported the results of her investigation.

"I've contacted the descendant of Rolando, the so-called 'big talker' you mentioned. His name is Guy Montblanc. However, he cannot confirm whether Sky Island truly exists. Fortunately, the soaring sea currents you mentioned do exist. I've witnessed them several times—they are indeed spectacular. After recording data over these three months and with Montblanc's help, I can roughly determine the trajectory of the sky current. It erupts about five times a month. I've noted the locations, and fortunately, it's going to happen again this afternoon. If we miss it, we'll have to wait another three days. But can such a massive current really take us to Sky Island? I'm still skeptical about its reliability."

"Don't worry. I understand this well. Even if we fail, it won't matter. What about Montblanc?"

"Well, he's quite stubborn. In some ways, he's very much like me. To find the legendary Golden Land, he abandoned his companions and stayed here for several years."

"That's enough. Take me to see him."

"No problem."

Gaya Island actually consists of two parts: East Island and West Island. Magic Valley Town is located on the East Island, while Montblanc's home is on the coast of the West Island.

As the three arrived by boat, they could see a two-story stone building from a distance. Montblanc, who was standing at his doorstep, smoking a cigarette and chopping firewood with an ax, immediately spotted the approaching ship and Nico Robin on it.

He also recognized the other two people with her. Just yesterday, news had spread across the seas that the infamous pirate, Blood Emperor Gnar, had been seen in Magic Valley Town. The number of pirates in the town had surged, and some secretive figures—obviously agents—had been asking questions about him.

"Trouble!"

Although Montblanc had anticipated instability when Nico Robin first contacted him, he chose to cooperate because Robin had brought information about the legendary Golden Land Shandora, recorded in the expedition records of his ancestor, Montblanc Nolando.

"Hello!"

Montblanc greeted Robin and her companions politely. He didn't show any fear despite Gnar's 1.45 billion Berries bounty. For someone with his strong will, only the information about Shandora held his interest.

"Guy Montblanc, are you a descendant of Montblanc Nolando?"

Gnar examined the man before him. He resembled his portrayal: with a diamond-shaped face, a tuft of yellow hair, and a cigarette in his mouth.

"If you're referring to that 'big talker,' then yes, he is my ancestor."

"Hahaha, interesting..."

Gnar found the man's calm demeanor quite amusing.

"Do you also think your ancestor was a big talker?"

Montblanc's expression shifted slightly. After a moment's thought, he put out his cigarette and adopted a serious tone.

"Is what Nico Robin said true? Does Sky Island really exist, and is the Golden Land recorded in my ancestor's expedition records on Sky Island?"

"Of course, otherwise, why would I come here?"

Montblanc's eyes lit up with hope.

"Since you're so confident, you must have a way to get there, right? If so, can you take me with you?"

"Why should I take you with us?"

Gnar asked rhetorically.

Montblanc was taken aback, thought for a moment, and then said with determination,

"I'm not interested in the gold. As long as I can ring the golden bell that represents Shandora's existence and prove that the legend is true, I'll do whatever you ask of me."

"Hahaha... The gold was originally mine."

Montblanc's expression darkened, thinking Gnar would reject him. To his surprise, Gnar continued,

"However, I do need you to do something for me. Have you ever heard of a guide bird?"

Montblanc nodded excitedly.

"There's one in the woods!"

"Great. Go and catch a guide bird in the forest. When the current erupts this afternoon, it will be time for us to head to Sky Island."

"No problem. I'll go now."

At that moment, on the edge of Gaya Island's waters, a World Government warship approached quickly.

If Gnar were present, he would have seen two familiar figures on the deck of the warship: Former Marine Admiral Zephyr and his disciple, Ain...
