On the magnificent sea...
The Marine warship was speeding towards Demon Valley Town.
Zephyr, who had resigned as Marine Admiral, looked significantly older on the deck. His hair had turned white, and he now wore glasses, giving him a more refined appearance.
From his former position as a top Marine officer, Zephyr had transitioned to a role as a mentor and educator.
Beside him, Ain, still youthful and beautiful in her Marine uniform, looked at her teacher with a hint of distress. She harbored deep resentment towards the man who had tainted her teacher's career.
The infamous escape of Pirate Gnar from Impel Down had led to an internal Marine investigation, and though nothing was found linking Gnar's escape directly to Zephyr, it still added a blemish to his record.
Despite Zephyr's claim that this mission was his way of making amends and capturing Pirate Gnar personally with the World Government's CP agents, Ain knew the truth. This was Zephyr's attempt to protect himself, as she had heard that CP agents were interested in recruiting her.
As Ain gritted her teeth, she couldn't help but remember that kiss.
"Damn it!"
At that moment, the sound of high heels clicking on the deck signaled the approach of a woman who exuded danger. She was dressed in a white suit and wore a long-haired fox mask.
Ain recognized her from her teacher's description: the legendary CP0 agent who only protected the Celestial Dragons. She was the strongest spy sent by the World Government to eliminate the threat of Pirate Gnar.
Even now, Ain did not know her name, as Zephyr had deliberately avoided mentioning it. However, judging by her voice, she seemed to be quite young.
"Admiral Zephyr, our intelligence confirms that Blood Emperor Gnar is still on Gaya Island."
"Thank you!"
Zephyr's tone was unusually soft.
A light laugh emerged from beneath the white fox mask.
"You're welcome. With a veteran like you involved, we can be more confident in dealing with Blood Emperor Gnar."
After the white fox mask finished speaking, she glanced at Ain, making her feel uneasy. Fortunately, she quickly looked away and continued to address Zephyr.
"Admiral Zephyr, how confident are you this time?"
Zephyr's answer was blunt.
"I'm not sure."
The woman in the white fox mask looked a bit puzzled.
"Didn't you defeat him personally last time?"
"Although it's hard to accept, based on the intelligence we have, that kid seemed to let me catch him on purpose. In our last encounter, he didn't show any Devil Fruit abilities. According to the information, his destructive power might be comparable to Whitebeard's."
"Whitebeard!?"
The woman's surprise was evident. She then changed the topic.
"Admiral Zephyr, you have extensive experience with Devil Fruit powers. Have you ever encountered such a power at sea before?"
The question piqued Zephyr's interest, but instead of answering directly, he inquired,
"I've heard that the World Government sent you because of the scientific research?"
The woman in the white fox mask didn't hide anything and responded with a chuckle.
"Yes, Dr. Vegapunk is very interested in that man's abilities. He believes that since this man can master multiple Devil Fruit abilities simultaneously, his blood might hold the key to unlocking the secrets of Devil Fruits. Thus, he requested the World Government to capture him. To ensure the mission's success and prevent any mishaps, I was sent."
Ain, listening to their conversation, was shocked. The name "Vegapunk" was completely new to her.
Zephyr did not continue the discussion and simply asked,
"How much longer?"
"Two hours."
"That's too slow!"
Zephyr sighed.
The woman in the white fox mask understood.
"There's nothing we can do about it. Although Marine warships have improved significantly through scientific research, the sea is vast. Only someone like Admiral Kizaru could cover such distances effortlessly, but there is only one Kizaru..."
She glanced at Ain and added meaningfully,
"As for Blood Emperor Gnar, his Devil Fruit grants him the ability to fly, and it's still unclear how many Devil Fruit abilities he acquired in Impel Down. That's why we have this 'little girl' here..."
Ain's face darkened. As a proud individual, she understood that the CP0 agent's implication was that she would have to get close to Gnar at the cost of her own dignity.
Zephyr, noticing her discomfort, interjected coldly,
"Do you think that kid is the kind of fool who is distracted by lust?"
The woman chuckled.
"Throughout history, heroes have struggled with beauty. How will you know if you don't try..."
Ain's expression became icy as she gripped the long knife at her waist, steeling herself.
At that moment, a CP agent in a black suit approached nervously.
"Sir, I've just received news that Blood Emperor Gnar has left Gaya Island..."
"Do you know where he's headed?"
"Our agents are following him."
"Very well, turn the ship around and follow them."
The coastal edge of Gaya Island.
After setting sail again, Gnar, Robin, Zala, Montblanc Guy, and a guide bird headed towards the sea area where the soaring current was expected to break out.
"Is it alright to let them follow us?"
Guy asked, glancing nervously at the sailboat trailing behind.
Gnar's response was dismissive.
"It doesn't matter. If they want to die, they can follow."
Given the immense power of the ocean current, Guy nodded in agreement.
Robin, however, stared out at the sea, where dark clouds obscured the sky.
"We need to hurry. This current might surge to the sky sooner than we expected..."
"Ah..."
Without needing to steer, the pirate ship began to move.
Almost an hour later, they approached the stormy sea area.
"It should be around here... It's hard to pinpoint the exact location; it depends on our luck..."
Guy had studied the soaring currents on Gaya Island extensively. He had first noticed their existence three years ago. However, even he could only estimate the general location and timing, not pinpoint it precisely.
"That's fine. My luck has always been good..."
At that moment, the World Government warship appeared on the distant coastline...
