Chapter 92 Kingdom Of God·Sky Island

"Huhu..."

Heavy and rapid breathing filled the deck of the Skylander.

The bright sunshine illuminated the deck, and Robin, Zala, and Kuli Guy looked extremely uncomfortable, gasping for air and unable to move.

"What's going on? Why do I feel so uncomfortable?" Zala panted.

"I feel out of breath!" Robin added.

Gnar, who was already prepared, responded calmly.

"Don't worry. We're currently very high up, above the sky. The air here is thin. You'll need to get used to it."

"I see!" Robin said, understanding. The three of them squatted on the deck, breathing hard to adapt to the thin air around them.

Gnar then jumped to the bow and looked around. As he expected, there was a sea of white clouds all around, making it impossible to see anything, let alone navigate.

Fortunately, he was prepared. He took out a cage containing a guide bird and used it to quickly determine the direction.

"Bat attack!"

In an instant, countless bats flew out of Gnar's body, spreading in all directions. He then squatted on the deck, waiting for news from his bats.

Noticing Robin and Zala's discomfort, Gnar walked to the cabin, took out three oxygen bottles, and kindly handed them to Robin and Zala, placing the breathing masks over their faces.

After taking a few quick breaths of oxygen, their expressions relaxed.

"How are you feeling, Robin-chan, Zala-chan? Better now?"

Unfortunately, both of them turned their heads away, moving to the edge of the boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Sky Island.

Gnar chuckled and handed the last oxygen bottle to Kuli Guy. Surprised, Kuli Guy accepted it, took a few breaths, and then spoke slowly.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome!" Gnar replied.

Although still annoyed, Robin stood at the edge of the boat, marveling at the sight of the white sea of clouds before her.

"Is this Sky Island?"

Gnar approached her, gently taking her hand.

"We should be near Sky Island now, floating on the sea of clouds. We'll need to wait for news from my bats to find the exact location."

Zala looked curiously at the sea of clouds below the boat.

"It's amazing that our ship can float on the clouds."

Gnar explained.

"Although it looks like a cloud, this sea of clouds has the same buoyancy as the sea below. It also has a restraining effect on Devil Fruit powers. By the way, there are giant creatures that survive in this sea of clouds."

"That's incredible!" Zala exclaimed.

Kuli Guy, feeling more comfortable, stood up and looked at the sea of clouds, shocked.

"Sky Island really does exist!"

After a while, Kuli Guy turned to Gnar.

"Thank you for showing me such a miracle, Mr. Gnar. Now, what is it that you need me to do?"

This question caught the attention of everyone present. Gnar then revealed his thoughts.

"It's simple. I want to rule Sky Island, and I need your help!"

Kuli Guy's expression froze. He had suspected Gnar's intentions but never thought he would aim to rule the island. The word "rule" often implied slavery and oppression, so Kuli Guy was inclined to refuse.

"Um... I appreciate your respect, but I don't think my strength can help you achieve that."

Gnar responded calmly.

"Don't you want to find the legendary island of your ancestors: the golden land of Shandora?"

Kuli Guy was stunned by Gnar's words.

"The golden land is on this Sky Island. It was originally part of Gaya Island, brought here by the soaring sea currents. Your ancestors, the Shandia clan, along with the great warrior Kalgara, recorded its existence. However, after being brought to Sky Island, the Shandia clan was expelled by the island's natives. Don't you want to help your ancestors' descendants reclaim their homeland? Moreover, the golden bell you wish to ring is also there. Without my help, you won't be able to fulfill your dream..."

Gnar's words made Kuli Guy fall into deep thought. After a moment, he spoke cautiously.

"Captain Gnar, your words are compelling. I do want to fulfill my dream, but I don't want to turn the descendants of the great warrior Kalgara into your slaves."

"Hahaha... Don't misunderstand. I'm not interested in slavery. I want to rule Sky Island because there are a few things I care about very much."

"Please explain!"

"It's simple. First, Sky Island's technology, particularly the Dials. These creatures are exclusive to Sky Island and can serve as both communication devices and energy sources. I need Sky Island to help me mass-produce these Dials. Second, Sky Island's cloud technology, like the sea of clouds below us. With this cloud manufacturing technology, I can bridge the gap between the Calm Belt and the Red Line, connecting all the seas. Finally, there's the gold on the island."

Everyone was shocked by Gnar's grand ambitions.

"Is it really possible to connect the world together?" Robin asked in surprise.

"How do you know if you don't try? Even if it doesn't connect the whole world, opening up a sea area would be impactful. The benefits to countless people would be immeasurable."

Kuli Guy swallowed hard. As a former pirate, he knew the implications of this plan.

"If it's truly possible, I'll give it a try. But I can't guarantee..."

"As long as you understand. Don't worry, I won't ask much of you, just that you stand by my side."

Kuli Guy nodded understandingly.

At that moment, news finally came from Gnar's bats...
