Chapter 93 Thunder Cloud
White Sea, Sky Island.
Sky Island is an island located on a sea of clouds. Despite being 10,000 meters above sea level, the people of Sky Island know much about the sea below: the Blue Sea. They are aware of pirates and even the existence of Devil Fruits.
The reason for this knowledge is simple. Besides the extremely dangerous soaring sea currents, there is another route from the sea below to Sky Island called: HIGHWEST. Though this route is treacherous and narrow, a few lucky individuals manage to bring news of the Blue Sea to Sky Island.
Newcomers from the Blue Sea struggle to adapt to the thin air on Sky Island, significantly reducing their combat effectiveness. The Sky Island's God Guards can always handle them, ensuring the island remains a secluded paradise where everyone lives quietly and peacefully.
On a bustling street, Sky Island's God Guards patrolled as usual, surrounded by busy merchants and craftsmen making various furniture and appliances from white clouds and unique shellfish. But today, a sudden alarm shattered the peace.
"Attention, attention! There are intruders from the Blue Sea at the Gate of Heaven, and the guards have been defeated! All Sky Island residents, be on alert!"
"!!!"
On the coast of Sky Island, a beautiful angel girl named Conis, just ten years old, was helping her father repair the Waver. Hearing the alarm that resounded throughout Sky Island, her face filled with horror.
The Gate of Heaven is on the lower level of Sky Island, in a place called the White Sea. It is the only entrance to Sky Island, accessible only via Sky Island's unique express shrimp, which crosses the spiral upward cloud bridge.
To prevent uninvited troublemakers, the gods of the sanctuary have stationed many God Guards there. Although pirates from below have caused trouble before, the God Guards have always managed to handle them. An emergency broadcast like today's was rare.
As far as the eye could see, countless God Guards descended from the Sanctuary, riding the Waver, and quickly headed toward the Gate of Heaven. Conis's father, watching the scene, wasn't overly worried.
"Go back and hide. The God's Guard will handle it."
"Um!"
Conis, clutching her pet Sisi, obediently accompanied her father to their house. But as they reached the door, a scream echoed from the distant sea of clouds. Turning in surprise, they saw a terrifying sight.
The God Guards who had just arrived were struck by some terrible force and flew out from the Gate of Heaven, scattering like dumplings. Simultaneously, a massive ship from the Blue Sea below cut through the sea of clouds and slowly landed on the sea of clouds.
"!!!"
"Is this Sky Island?"
"It's so beautiful, like heaven!"
Under the bright sunshine, everyone on the deck of the Skylander admired the dreamlike Sky Island before them. Kuli Guy, spotting Conis and her father on the coast, exclaimed in disbelief.
"What is that, an angel?"
Robin and Zala, also captivated, looked on with surprise and envy.
"No..." Gnar shook his head. "They are the original residents of Sky Island. They have wings like the Lunarians who once lived on the Red Line, but their wings are smaller and white."
"I see!" Kuli Guy nodded, though Robin's eyes showed shock. She had read about the Lunaria tribe in historical texts. Sensing her curiosity, Gnar asked.
"What's on your mind?"
Since their relationship had grown close, Robin asked without hesitation.
"Does the Lunaria tribe really exist? I thought it was just a legend."
Gnar seized the opportunity to please her.
"Hehe, don't worry. They are real. I'll take you to see them when we have the chance."
Realizing she should be angry, Robin could only respond speechlessly.
"How are you going to rule this island? It would be a pity if such a beautiful place was destroyed..."
Robin's question was partly to appease Kuli Guy, who looked worried about Gnar destroying the island.
"Don't worry!" Gnar extended his hand, and bright red blood formed into a long stick on his arm. "I can't bear to destroy such a beautiful island. But to ensure everything goes smoothly, I need to scare them first."
"Thundercloud!"
As the words fell, under everyone's surprised gaze, countless black thunderclouds flew out like smoke from Gnar's stick, filling the sky. Thunder and lightning rolled, spreading across the sky, darkening the entire Sky Island.
The Sky Island residents, alarmed by the massive thunder, looked up in horror at the thunderclouds that seemed to swallow everything.
"What...what's going on?"
As they were at a loss, an imposing figure riding a Pegasus descended from the sky from the Sanctuary, followed by countless God Guard soldiers dressed in white.
In the sacred area, the edge of Gaya Island brought to Sky Island by the sky current, lies Cloud Shinobi Village, home to the Shandians. Driven from their homeland, they have lived here ever since. The village's location is hidden, known only to the Shandians.
The massive commotion on Sky Island, including the terrifying thunder and darkened sky, could not escape their notice. In the largest tent in the center, the Sandian warriors gathered around the old man sitting in the center.
"Chief, there must be trouble with Ganfor..."
"They must be Blue Sea people. More and more ships have come to Sky Island through HIGHWEST in recent years."
"This is our chance to take back Apayado..."
The old chief listened to the thunder with leisurely eyes, then made up his mind.
"Call all the soldiers. This time we may have to fight with Ganfor..."
