Chapter 6: Doctor, Come Save Her!

An indescribable feeling filled his heart, as if something was stuck in his chest. Normally, Shangguan Yao would have smugly added, "See, I told you so!"

But he couldn't say a word.

The girl before him looked terrible. Her hair was messy and stuck to her face, her clothes were wet and covered in dirt—everything he usually hated. Yet, something in his heart stopped him from saying anything harsh.

"I just need to rest... I can finish running... just over fifty more laps..."

Silence. The only response was the whistling wind.

"If I have to pay... I might need to do it in installments..."

She closed her eyes again in despair, her words barely audible, as if using her last bit of strength.

"You idiot! You run just because you were told to!" Shangguan Yao finally couldn't hold back and yelled at the girl on the ground.

"So noisy... let me rest... just a bit..."

Cheng Xiaoyou felt like her body was falling apart. Her mind drifted in and out of darkness, and everything she heard seemed distant and unclear.

So tired!

"Hey! Are you fainting? Wake up! Don't sleep!" Shangguan Yao noticed something was wrong. Her face was unnaturally red, and she wasn't responding at all.

Sweat poured down his back from the sun. If just standing here made him feel like this, what about her, running all this time? Had she really fainted?

He remembered he hadn't told her that the correction fluid had been wiped off. She ran until she passed out, making him feel incredibly guilty.

He checked his phone. She had been running for nearly three hours.

This girl must be an idiot, running without saying a word for so long!

What should he do now?

Looking around helplessly, he saw no one.

Shangguan Yao finally dialed a number and shouted into the phone, "Che, help!"

"You better have a good reason, or you're dead this time!"

The cold voice from the other end was chilling. Even through the phone, Shangguan Yao could feel the icy anger. Che was really mad this time!

That guy hated being woken up, and disturbing his rest could have serious consequences.

"Che, help! Someone's about to die!" Shangguan Yao urgently pleaded.

"Is it related to you? If not, go back to sleep."

The voice on the other end was cold and unsympathetic.

"And disappear for at least a week, or I might really kill you!"

With that, Gong Che hung up.

Shangguan Yao called again, but this time, the voice said, "Do you want to die?!"

"It's serious! That girl you hit with your car—I made her run a hundred laps. She actually did it and now she's unconscious!" Shangguan Yao quickly explained.

"Che, what do I do now?"

"The girl I hit?" The voice on the other end was confused, then turned cold again. "You woke me up for this?"

"She's really unconscious. What if she dies?" Shangguan Yao was worried.

"Can running kill someone?!" The voice laughed.

"Of course it can! Isn't the Olympic marathon named after someone who died from running?!" Shangguan Yao said urgently.

"That's a marathon, idiot!" Gong Che sighed. "That girl seemed tough enough to climb onto my car. She doesn't look like the type to die easily."

"But she's really unconscious!" Shangguan Yao shook Cheng Xiaoyou, but there was no response.

"Then take her to the infirmary! Why are you calling me?!" Gong Che's tone was harsh again. This was why he was woken up?

"Oh right, the infirmary!" Shangguan Yao relaxed. "Okay, sleep well!"

"Are you sure she's not faking it?" Gong Che asked seriously before hanging up.

That girl insisted on an apology even after receiving a check. Now she's involved with Yao. Could this be a scheme?

"Yeah, she ran for three hours before passing out," Shangguan Yao said, feeling guilty.

"Idiot!" Gong Che cursed before hanging up.

"Fine, hang up! I know what to do!" Shangguan Yao muttered, putting his phone away.

Looking at the unconscious girl, his head started to ache again.

But how to get her to the infirmary?

Carry her?

Carry this dirty girl?

He had a cleanliness obsession!

"This is the first time I'm carrying a girl. You better feel honored, or you're dead!"

Gritting his teeth, Shangguan Yao picked up the unconscious girl, hoping she'd appreciate this.

But she was so light, like she weighed nothing at all.

This tough girl was actually so small and fragile?

Carrying her effortlessly, Shangguan Yao walked to his car, opened the door, and tossed her onto the back seat.

Don't blame him for being unkind—he couldn't stand her sweaty smell! It was like carrying a jar of pickles, almost suffocating!

He sped to the school infirmary, parked, and kicked open the door, yelling, "Anyone here? Doctor, help!"

He looked frantic, as if holding a critical patient, his voice filled with urgent worry.
