Chapter 7: Apologize to Me !

In the medical room, the teachers and students being treated all turned to the door in unison, their eyes widening in astonishment. They gasped in disbelief.

No way, is that really Shangguan Yao carrying a girl inside?

Judging by his anxious expression, this girl must be very important to him!

Is one of the three most eligible bachelors of Shengyu finally ending his single life?!

Please, no!

"What are you all staring at? Hurry up and save her!" Shangguan Yao couldn't stand their gawking and yelled fiercely.

The crowd, as if unpaused from a freeze-frame, quickly sprang into action. Some rushed to take over the girl from him, others hurried to prepare a bed, while another took out a notepad to ask Shangguan Yao about the situation.

All the doctors gathered around, surrounding the girl in the center. The students who were originally being treated stood outside, curious about what was happening.

A quarter of an hour later—

The girl, Cheng Xiaoyou, was comfortably settled in a hospital bed, an IV drip attached to her left hand, and the fluid from the bottle slowly trickling into her hand.

"Is she really just passed out from dehydration and heatstroke?" Shangguan Yao asked again, skeptical about why she hadn't woken up yet.

"Yes, if what you said is true, then she must have been running under the midday sun. Sweating too much caused dehydration, and the intense sun caused heatstroke," the doctor on duty explained respectfully, losing count of how many times he had repeated this to the young master.

"Then why hasn't she woken up?!"

"She must be extremely exhausted. Her body is protesting and has gone into a forced rest mode. She'll wake up after enough rest!"

In this school, if anyone needed to be treated with utmost care, it was the three most renowned students since their enrollment, and Shangguan Yao was said to be the most difficult of them all!

So, the doctor dared not show any impatience and could only repeat his explanation again and again.

"However, running at noon is not a good habit. This girl is very frail; she should exercise in moderation."

To demonstrate his professionalism and genuine concern, the doctor kindly suggested.

"Would you shut up? Someone might think you're mute! Get lost!" Shangguan Yao, irritated by his words, yelled at the doctor. He felt as if the doctor was blaming him for the girl's collapse, infuriating him.

The doctor, frightened, retreated and ran out in tears. He just wanted to flatter him; was it necessary to be so fierce?!

The room suddenly quieted down, only the ticking sound of the IV drip could be heard.

Shangguan Yao paced restlessly. Unable to bear it any longer, he threatened the unconscious Cheng Xiaoyou, "Wake up already! How dare you make me worry this much? I'll make you pay for the car!"

"Can you be any more childish?!" A cold voice came from behind. Shangguan Yao turned around to see Gong Che approaching, slightly frowning in disapproval of his low-IQ behavior.

"Che, you're a lifesaver!"

Seeing Shangguan Yao's sudden radiant smile, Gong Che had a bad premonition. Every time he smiled at him like this, it was never a good thing!

"I need to sleep and adjust my jet lag!" Gong Che said, turning to leave. He had only come to check if he was being deceived and didn't want any trouble.

"Che, I stink all over. You don't expect me to suffocate myself, do you?" Shangguan Yao quickly moved in front of him, making him smell his stinky self.

He had barely tolerated the smell while carrying the girl, but now in the room, looking at the sweat and stains on himself, he felt suffocated.

"Watch over her for me, I'll take a quick shower and change!" Shangguan Yao was satisfied with Gong Che's look of disgust, left the message, and disappeared at lightning speed.

"Shangguan Yao!"

Gong Che shouted in frustration, but the roaring engine outside was his only response.

He wanted to end their friendship, he definitely wanted to!

The VIP ward on the second floor was very quiet, with the ticking sound of the IV drip mixing with the girl's painful murmurs in her sleep, "…I really have no money… just let me run a hundred laps…"

"I need money badly… can I pay you back later…"

"Grandma… please take good care of yourself…"

"Don't worry about Xiaoyou, Xiaoyou can do anything…"

"Shut up!" Gong Che suddenly stood up from the sofa, looking at the girl still frowning and muttering broken words in her sleep.

Was he supposed to listen to her nonsense until Yao came back?!

That guy would take at least an hour to shower and change clothes. An hour meant 60 minutes, 3600 seconds. Was he really going to waste his precious time on this inexplicable girl?!

His slender fingers hovered in the air for a moment before decisively reaching forward and pinching Cheng Xiaoyou's nose.

Two, three… seven, eight… eleven, twelve…

Counting the seconds silently, when he reached 28, the girl's face turned red from holding her breath, then she opened her mouth wide to gasp for air.

The offending fingers quickly withdrew as if they had never moved. Gong Che stepped back and stood coldly, assuming an onlooker's stance.

"Cough, cough, cough"

The girl in bed coughed violently, her body curling up in discomfort like a dying shrimp.

Cheng Xiaoyou struggled to open her heavy eyelids, only to find she was no longer on the scorching field but in a hospital room.

Was it the red-haired boy who brought her here?

Her vision slowly cleared, and the tall figure before her gradually became distinct!

"It's you!"

Cheng Xiaoyou gritted her teeth and sat up, realizing the person at her bedside was Gong Che!

"Apologize! You owe me an apology!"

These words seemed etched into her brain, coming out involuntarily whenever she saw him.

It was all his fault, everything was caused by this guy named Gong Che!

Gong Che raised an eyebrow, surprised that the first thing this girl said upon waking was this. Was this a reflex of a single-celled organism?

How ridiculous!
