Chapter 005: Has Jiang Lin taken a fancy to me for a while now?!

Jiang's father's hand was almost in agony from Fu Sitian's grip, but he steadied himself to look at his legs on the wheelchair.

Hmph, just a useless person who can't walk. What's there to be afraid of?

He gathered all his strength to break free from Fu Sitian, cursing angrily, "You waste, what right do you have to lecture me?"

Suddenly recalling what he had just said, a shock passed through him, and he looked fiercely towards Jiang Lin, "He said you are his wife?"

Jiang's father was about to explode with anger, "You rejected a perfectly good heir to a fortune and chose a disabled person who can't walk, calling you a loss would be an understatement. I should kill you today and save myself the embarrassment!"

With that, he picked up the broom again and struck towards Jiang Lin.

Fu Sitian had astonishing arm strength. He pulled on Jiang's father's clothes from behind with a fierce yank, catching him off balance and sending him flying into the coffee table.

Jiang's father was in so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat, groaning and clutching his waist as he stood up. Fu Sitian sat upright in his wheelchair, his dark pupils fierce, warning others to stay away.

No matter the past, since Jiang Lin had married him, she was his person from now on. Bullying her was like slapping Fu Sitian's face.

He would not tolerate it!

Jiang's father glared at him venomously; several times, he wanted to step forward and fight, but his courage shriveled the moment his gaze fell on Fu Sitian's strong arms throbbing with veins, and he dared not act rashly again.

The man's thin lips parted slightly, his eyes flashing with a dangerous light, "Aren't you leaving yet?"

Jiang's father puffed out his chest, "This is my house..."

Fu Sitian scoffed, "Then perhaps we should let the police decide."

As he spoke, he took out his phone, ready to call the authorities.

"You've got nerve!"

Jiang's father spit in disgust, and again glared maliciously at Jiang's mother, threatening, "You wait for me; sooner or later, I'll take care of you!"

Turning around, he looked at the table full of good dishes, swept them off with a backhand, and the bowls and plates shattered with a crash. Only then did Jiang's father leave home feeling satisfied.

The metal door shut, and Jiang's mother's body went limp, trembling uncontrollably from the aftermath, unable to stop her crying.

Jiang Lin bent over and tenderly embraced her, gently patting her back.

God knows how much time had passed when Fu Sitian passed a tissue to the mother and daughter.

"Clean up; we're going home to eat," Fu Sitian said to Jiang Lin. "Mom's physical and mental condition is not suited for living here. For now, let her stay at our place."

Jiang Lin was stunned, "Our home..."

When did they have a home?

Seeing her perplexed expression, Fu Sitian's eyes twinkled with amusement, "Our home is in the North Suburb, close to your clinic, which is convenient for us to take care of Mom anytime."

Jiang Lin, seeing he had said all that needed to be said and not wanting to arouse her mother's suspicion, said nothing more.

The three of them packed up simply and left the Jiang Family home.

An hour later, the car stopped at the gate of the Time Impression Residential Area in the North Suburb.

Jiang Lin was all too familiar with this neighborhood.

Last year, in her effort to persuade her mother to divorce, she had also chosen this property, firstly because it was close to her clinic, allowing her to take care of her mother easily, and secondly, because it was a newly developed administrative district, the housing prices were not high, and her savings were just enough to cover the down payment.

She had even paid the deposit. But she never imagined that the man would abuse her mother the night before she was set to make the payment, forcing her to hand over all her money, leaving her with nothing overnight.

Jiang Lin arrived at Fu Sitian's home, no, at hers and Fu Sitian's home, with memories in tow.

A vision of black and white furniture met her eyes, elegant with a touch of cold detachment coming at her.

Fu Sitian pointed to the guest room and said softly, "There are clothes to change into inside. Take Mom to the bathroom to get cleaned up; I'll order takeout for dinner."

"No need, no need," Jiang's mother said, accustomed to frugality, reluctant to waste money.

She knew Jiang Lin's salary, and now that she was married to Fu Sitian, she feared their finances would be even tighter. It was best to save where they could.

With that thought, she rolled up her sleeves and went into the kitchen, "Tonight we'll just make do; tomorrow I'll buy some fresh ingredients and cook something delicious for you."

Fu Sitian instinctively wanted to follow her into the kitchen but was stopped by Jiang Lin.

"Let her be alone for a while," Jiang Lin said.

Fu Sitian paused for a moment and then agreed.

"Come with me for a moment," he said to Jiang Lin, then turned and headed towards the study.

Jiang Lin felt her pocket and, after a moment of hesitation, followed him into the study.

It was time to deal with what needed to be done.

Inside the study.

Jiang Lin sat down in the chair in front of Fu Sitian's desk.

Her small hand nervously fidgeted with the item in her pocket as her heart suddenly leapt to her throat.

She was as cool and composed as could be when buying the ring, but now she was just as nervous and awkward.

Not daring to make eye contact with Fu Sitian, her gaze flickered elsewhere, "I have something I want to tell you."

At that moment, Fu Sitian was opening the cabinet under the desk to take out a small red gift box. Hearing Jiang Lin's words, he clutched the box in his hand but didn't lift it.

Seeing her face turn red to the tips of her ears, his thin lips curved up into a smile, "What's so embarrassing to talk about?"

"I am not embarrassed!" Jiang Lin looked up, but unexpectedly locked eyes with the man's deep-sea-like dark eyes.

Sexy!

The word flashed quickly through her mind, but she was soon startled by her own bold thoughts.

Subconsciously lowering her head to avoid looking further, her face burned even hotter.

"Since we've already gotten our marriage certificate, we should still have a proper wedding ring... So..." she stammered as she nervously took out a small red box from her pocket, her breathing quickening.

When the box opened, it revealed a pair of delicate and elegant wedding rings.

The silver ring body resembled intertwining vines, with seven diamonds of varying sizes arranged in a gradient in the center, embraced by the reflecting silver light.

Fu Sitian was stunned. The hand holding the gift box instinctively tightened its grip.

She had beaten him to it!

Fu Sitian felt surprised, annoyed, and at a loss.

Rings should be given by a man, but now it seemed as though he was the one being supported?

"The rings symbolize two hearts relying on each other, drawing warmth..." Jiang Lin nervously recalled the words the salesperson described when introducing the wedding rings, while Fu Sitian was internally battling with himself.

When did she buy the wedding rings?

Had she planned this from the morning?

The first time they met she demanded a marriage certificate, the second time they met she brought rings; Jiang Lin... does she have feelings for me?!

But quickly, Fu Sitian felt that Jiang Lin was being too hasty in giving the rings, as if she really wanted to cement their marriage quickly.

With that thought, Fu Sitian felt both parched and gloomy.

He loosened his tie and picked up the water cup next to him, taking a gulp before suppressing the complex emotions in his heart.

"Do you like it?" Seeing his dark expression and tightly pursed lips, Jiang Lin thought he might find them too cheap to like, causing her heart to pound nervously.

"I like it." With a smile in his dark eyes, Fu Sitian put the gift box back in the drawer and picked up Jiang Lin's ring box.

"A man should take care of such matters."

Jiang Lin breathed a sigh of relief, "You bought the house, so let me prepare the ring. It's only right for a husband and wife to support each other."

No longer refusing, Fu Sitian took out the lady's ring, his dark eyes smiling, warming Jiang Lin's heart.

"Let me put it on you."

Extending his other hand toward Jiang Lin, she understood and placed her hand in his palm.

As their fingertips touched, the small ring was gently slipped onto each other's ring fingers, then they intertwined their hands.

Silence is golden.

After exchanging rings...

What should they do?

Jiang Lin's gaze was fixed on their intertwined hands, and the more she looked, the more dry-mouthed she became.

In TV dramas, in novels, after exchanging rings, the male and female protagonists would kiss each other...
