Chapter 006 Is that all you've got?

Jiang Lin followed those slender, delicate fingers upward, seeing the clear muscle lines on his arm, full of resilience, exuding deadly sex appeal.

She swallowed subconsciously.

Quickly realizing her lapse, she shook her head.

Jiang Lin, behave yourself!

She tried to clear her head, but the more she thought, the quicker her breathing became; even the clock on the wall seemed to speed up under her thoughts, as if urging something along.

She looked around, the bright light in the study had unknowingly turned into a dim yellow light, making her heartbeat accelerate and her mouth dry.

"Ah!"

Suddenly feeling dizzy, she was pulled onto Fu Sitian's lap. Her small hands grasped the man's white shirt collar, tightening her grip out of nervousness.

"Rip," the buttons on the collar were torn off, scattering to the floor.

It's over!

Jiang Lin silently screamed in her mind, resignedly closing her eyes, her ears flushing red.

Fu Sitian was very pleased with Jiang Lin's reaction, leaning close to her ear, "Just this, and you can't handle it?"

His voice was hoarse and warm, carrying a deadly seduction.

Jiang Lin's body went limp, collapsing into Fu Sitian's arms.

The man gently held her chin, slowly leaning down to kiss her.

"Linlin, we're out of cooking oil at home, go to the corner store and buy some"

"!!!"

Jiang Lin suddenly woke from her reverie.

She sprang up from Fu Sitian's embrace, straightening her clothes and hair, "I... I'm going to help my mom..."

Before she finished speaking, she had already dashed out of the study.

Fu Sitian sat in his wheelchair, inhaling the lingering scent she left in the study, his lips curving into a meaningful smile, but it quickly disappeared.

He picked up the phone and dialed his assistant, "Arrange for a standard nanny car, have it here by tomorrow morning."

"Mr. Fu, it's already arranged. I got you a modern model, priced around 250,000."

The assistant had already made arrangements when he saw Jiang Lin's interest in the car, really not wanting his boss to take any more risks, "I'll bring you the keys and car shortly."

"Hmm."

After Fu Sitian finished the call, he approved several urgent documents in the study; when he returned to the living room, Jiang's mother and Jiang Lin had already set the table with dinner.

Jiang's mother waved at him, "Sitian, come and eat."

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Jiang Lin went to answer the door, only to see Fu Sitian's colleague, who assisted him during the day, standing at the door, grinning broadly.

"Eh, I came to return the car to Mr. Fu."

"Car?" Jiang Lin frowned, turning to look at Fu Sitian.

The man casually explained, "The nanny car was bought by my grandmother to pick me up; she's traveling these days, so I rented it out to him."

"Right, right, I've brought it back after using it," the assistant quickly added, "Mr. Fu, I'll settle the rent and transfer it to you tomorrow."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Lin smiled slightly and warmly invited the assistant inside, "Have you had dinner? Join us for some."

"No, no, thank you." The assistant quickly refused.

"What a joke, didn't you see that dark gaze inside? If we were to go in, our legs would probably be broken."

The Assistant quickly handed over the keys to Fu Sitian and then turned to run, "I've got something else to handle, I'll head out first. You two, take your time enjoying."

Jiang Lin had no choice but to push Fu Sitian back to the dining room.

The man placed the keys into Jiang Lin's palm, "You should drive this car from now on."

Jiang Lin paused, instinctively refusing, "No need, I have a car."

Unearned gain was not her style. She was already living in Fu Sitian's house—taking his car too, what would he do?

"Dingtian Investment has humanitarian care for disabled people. Every time I go to the company, Xiaocheng comes to pick me up. It's a company requirement, so you don't need to worry," Fu Sitian explained faintly, seeing through Jiang Lin's thoughts.

"Linlin, just accept it," Jiang's mother also persuaded from the side: "Besides, your pickup truck is in such bad shape, if anything were to happen to it, the loss would be immeasurable."

With those words, Jiang Lin stopped refusing, and silently put the keys away, "Then when grandma comes back, I'll return the car to her."

"Mhm."

Jiang's mother was in a great mood. She agreed with Jiang Lin that they would use Fu Sitian's nanny car to move some necessities from their old home the next day, and finally asked Fu Sitian a few questions about the house.

"Is this house mortgaged?"

"It's a fully paid second-hand property," Fu Sitian answered succinctly. "A middle-aged couple, good friends with my grandmother, needed to emigrate urgently and sold it to me cheaply."

Jiang's mother initially wanted to ask if the house was under Linlin's name, but she was a content person. Knowing that her daughter had not contributed any effort or money to this house, she didn't ask further.

During the meal, Fu Sitian served Jiang Lin dishes several times. Seeing his considerate demeanor, Jiang's mother felt touched.

"We're all family here, and I won't hide this from you," she sighed deeply, apologizing for her reaction in the morning, "When I first saw you this morning, I was very worried about your and Linlin's future. But so many things happened today, and you handled everything with ease, which comforts me greatly. I believe Linlin will definitely be happy under your care."

"Our Linlin is a workaholic. To her, work and patients are more important than anything. She's quite clumsy in daily life and tends to lose things, so if she ends up inconveniencing you later, please bear with her."

"Mom..."

Jiang Lin protested with a pout.

She wasn't like that.

Fu Sitian stretched out his hand and ruffled Jiang Lin's hair, looking very familiar with her, "What I like is just how serious and scatterbrained she is."

Jiang Lin: "..."

"Then Mom is relieved."

Jiang Lin quietly slurped her noodles on the side, listening to their conversation, and felt a surge of warmth in her heart.

From her mother's words, she seemed to be reassured.

Shouldn't she agree to divorce that man now?!

Thinking this, Jiang Lin opened her mouth, "Mom, tomorrow..."

"Linlin," Jiang's mother interrupted her first, suddenly stern, "Sitian is a good man; don't let him down."

Jiang Lin looked baffled; when had she ever mistreated him?

In the study, it was he who played the rogue.

Jiang's mother continued, "I know you're busy with work and have many patients. But can those patients spend a lifetime with you? Can work give you a sense of security?"

Jiang Lin originally wanted to retort that of course work and money could bring security. With money, you could sweep through the world; without it, you could hardly take a step!

But seeing her mother's serious face, she sighed silently in her heart and just continued to slurp her noodles.

"Since you are married, from now on, focus more on your family life and have a good life with Sitian. Maybe have a grandchild for me to hold."

"Pfft..." Jiang Lin spat out all the noodles in her mouth, torn between laughter and tears.

Pressuring to marry and to have children really went hand in hand.
