"Chase!" Amur screams as Chase briskly runs forwards, his long legs carrying them feet away at an insane speed. Chase is wasting no time to at least getting Amur to safety, and then he can-.
"We must go back to Zayn!" Amur screams, "I'm not leaving without her!"
Chase comes to a short stop, breathing heavy, sweat dripping down his forehead and down his chin. Chase doesn't say much, he knows Amur cares for and loves Zayn—he does too—and a pang of guilt pings his heart as he remember his miscalculation, his mis-step, his-.
"Chase." Amur said, "I'm not blaming you—it was the heat of the moment, but we have to save Zayn!"
Chase sighs, rubbing the back of his head as he nods. "Yeah I-yeah. Right. I don't think it'll be a good idea going back there. So I'll send the clones."
Amur nods her head, beckoning for Chase to do what he must. Chase nods, taking both of his thumbs to his teeth, closing his eyes, and using his sharp teeth to cut open both thumbs, using the blood like a sword and swiping them to each side like he's slashing down twin blades. It only takes a second for each droplet of blood to rumble, both forming into two clones, both looking very similar to Chase, but one has long ash blonde straight hair, while the other has dark skin and a fluffed Afro.
"Reporting for duty!" The one with long hair said. The other clone nods, but doesn't say anything. Amir squints at the two forms of Chase, eyeing them up and down.
"What are their names again?" Amur asked.
"Ah, Rin." Chase points to the one with long hair, "and Lin." Chase points to the one with the afro.
"What's up master?" Rin asked. "Whatcha want me to do? Eliminate? Kill? Murder? Maybe eat this time-?"
"Please find Zayn, thanks." Chase said, rolling his eyes, "and please be discrete about it. Make sure she's somewhere safe until we get there, or even better if you bring her here."
"Whatever it allows, master!" Rin smiles, showcasing a large fang near the right side of his mouth, "Off we go! Come on Lin, cutie pie!"
By the time Chase opens his mouth, the clones are gone, and it's just him and Amur alone in some forest.
"Hopefully they don't do anything drastic," Amur said, "but I know I'm hoping for a miracle."
Chase shrugs, letting the silence answer her question.
…
Zayn gasps, running with all her might down more stone ground as she can hear her panting. She can feel the cool night air hit her armor, she can even hear the way that her thoughts are jumbled, a rippling mess of octaves that seem to always sing above the songs measure.
"Kid." It's Excalibur, who's been quiet for a while now, that speaks, "you need to calm down. You're destroying the ground Zayn-!"
Zayn looks to her feet, noticing that the stone ground has been completely destroyed, all the stones are sunken into the earth like a sink hole. Zayn feels shock, but quickly ignores it to check on Amelia, who's softly crying on Zayn's shoulders, holding Zayn's neck tightly as she weeps.
"Are we going to make it out of here?" Zayn asked Excalibur, "it looks like we're running with no destination."
"We can." Excalibur said, "but you'd probably have to kill her-."
"No!" Zayn said, but then she realizes she shouted out loud. "N-no! There has to be another way, Excalibur."
"Will you quit this stupid fear of killing people?!" Excalibur asked, "if not her, then it's you! Are you that stupid? Come on Zayn!"
Zayn doesn't respond; she clenches her fist under Amelia's legs as she processes her thoughts, but a soft tap on her shoulder snaps her back to reality.
"Zayn." Amelia softly said. "Thank you for taking care of me."
Zayn opens her mouth, but she shakes her head.
"Some lousy person I am." Zayn said. "I have so much strength and I don't know squat what to do about it. That's why everyone's-."
"Don't blame yourself!" Amelia exclaims, "you've been nothing but kind! And you've done nothing but try to help me and-you've done your best! That's all sometimes we can do, our best, you know?"
Zayn swallows, but doesn't respond to Amelia, but Amelia still continues.
"And you know what—you may be strong? But you're still human and-and humans get scared!" Amelia said. "A-and once you can no longer get scared, you've lost what it means to be that! To be human!"
"Amelia-." Zayn starts, but Amelia cuts her off.
"A-and I think you're the sweetest human ever!" Amelia said, her eyes closed while her face turns red. A-and that's why I fell in love with you-!"
"I don't-huh?" Zayn said, stopping in her tracks. She turns to peak at a red face Amelia, who taps Zayn's hands, signaling for Zayn to place Amelia down, which she does obediently.
"That's what I wanted to tell you before." Amelia said.
Zayn blinks, pointing to herself.
"Amelia." Zayn clears her throat, "I'm a girl?"
Amelia blinks, raising an eyebrow.
"I mean the voice made me reconsider things," Amelia said, "but you're so strong and tall and-."
"Well I get that a lot!" Zayn laughs, "b-but yes I'm a woman, Amelia."
"I'll be honest." Amelia said. "My feelings don't really change, Zayn. You got game girl."
Zayn blinks, feeling her face melt in her armor, steam blasting out her armor suit as she shakes in embarrassment. Zayn shrinks, bowing her head, making Amelia laugh at the reaction.
"Wow you're so cute!" Amelia said, "I knew my feelings wouldn't be returned, but I know whoever you'll be with will make you happy, Zayn."
Zayn freezes, taking Amelia's hands and nodding her head, softly looking down at Amelia as she smiles.
"Same here, Amelia!" Zayn said, smiling "now let's get you to-."
Zayn must of thought it is an illusion—Amelia is perfectly fine as they are talking, but once Zayn blinked, a long, crooked red sword swings in, swiping Amelia's head clean off, blood splattering all over Zayn's armor and on the stone ground. There's suddenly a new arrival—a stranger with long blonde hair and silver eyes that almost replicates Chase's looks—that takes Zayn by the shoulders and shoves her as far away as he can from the large swing of the incoming blade, but Zayn barely reacts, sitting on the stone floor and watching Amelia's head roll to her feet, looking at her with terrified, pale pink eyes.
"Found you." The beautiful lady said, her ruby eyes looking at Zayn from a foot away, peering down at her like she's a bug. "The other one ran away with that stupid fox spirit. I swear all humans do is just run."
