Chapter 12: Falling Raindrops

10/17/2012, 4:00 pm

[Changing room]

-JO GINGER-

"Great, that's the second time you changed your clothes this month. Just great."

"Do you really have to keep count?" Olivia asked, fixing her uniform. She just finished changing right after Sandra handed her clothes.

"Come to think of it, Sandra went straight home today." Olivia stated as she fixed her hair. Huh, she's right. Usually, Sandra would wait for us. I wonder how she's doing.

[Bus Stop]

-CASSANDRA-

School's over and it's raining

I'm waiting for the bus to come.

I'm just sitting here at the bench as I watch the raindrops fall.

I dislike rain.

No, I hate it.

It reminds me of something I should not be reminded of.

Or should I say someone?

Someone who's precious to me

Someone who opened my heart with his key

Now, he's gone and I'm drowned with tears

Leaving me betrayed and full of fear

The moment when we found him, it all fell apart like raindrops falling on that very day.

"It's really pouring down, huh?" Surprised by the sudden and unknown voice, I looked around to see whose voice it was. It was a white-haired man wearing the same uniform as I am.

"Yeah, it is." I replied looking at my watch. The bus is taking a while to get here.

"Are you alright?" He asked me, looking quite concerned. Maybe he noticed something or I'm just being overly-conscious.

"No, I'm not."

I don't know why I answered that. I always say that I'm alright every time someone asks me even though I'm truly not.

Maybe it's because he's a stranger. Someone who will just pass by. Someone who I will just see anywhere but don't remember seeing them.

"Oh, that's alright, you will be." The man responded with a smile and for some reason, I smiled back.

After waiting for who-knows-how-long, the bus finally came and I went home leaving the white-haired man. During my whole ride home, I thought: how I wish the bus didn't come at all.
