Marcy stood in front of Cherry’s house, hesitating. She had been about to knock but stopped when she sensed something—an ominous, almost suffocating energy radiating from within. The eerie darkness pulsed from Cherry’s room, growing stronger by the second. It shouldn’t be possible. The barrier she had placed around the house was designed to keep out any terror beings—except for Troy and herself. So what could be in there?
She was lost in thought when the front door suddenly swung open.
Holland stepped out first, Cherry following closely behind.
“Oh, Marcy, you’re here! I thought we’d have to leave without you,” Holland said as they headed toward the car.
“Yeah, I’m here,” Marcy replied awkwardly, her gaze fixed on Cherry. The dark energy surrounding her was immense, and yet Cherry seemed completely unaware of it.
Marcy recognized that power instantly.
