”Marcy, where are you going ?” Zack called out, hurrying after her. She was walking fast, her movements urgent, until she suddenly halted in a dark alley.
”Zack, your sisters, Serena and Cherry, are at the mansion. I’m sending you there now,” Marcy said, reaching for his palm.
As she traced symbols onto his skin, the tip of her finger glowed with magic. One by one, the symbols faded, disappearing into him.
”When you reach the training grounds, place your hand on the ground. It will summon a powerful wizard—the one who woke me from my slumber. He will guide you to the Abyss.”
Zack’s expression shifted to terror.
”The Abyss?” His voice wavered. He had heard the myths—a place of unrelenting darkness, twisted creatures, living shadows. Few ever made it out alive.
Marcy nodded, her face grim. ”It’s drastic, but we’re running out of time. This is the only way to prepare you all. The Abyss will release you when it deems you ready. You may become our last resort.”
