 Her eyes widened in shock when he walked over to lock the hospital room door with a click.

"What are you doing?" she asked shakily. She did not like the look on his face.

He raised a brow and smirked, raising the corner of his mouth. "What do you think I'm doing?"

"Why… why did you lock the door?"

"My wife...You've woken up after so long. Of course, I have to spend some time with you undisturbed..."

Serena watched him as he walked towards her, his presence seemingly filling the room. Her heart almost threatened to leap out of her chest...She wanted to jump off the bed but her legs were useless and she had no strength...

"You are right. She has been injected with a sedative."

Aiden cursed as he looked at her sleeping form! The situation was spiraling out of control, and he couldn't afford any more complications.They had to avoid all kinds of trauma due to her mental health anyway and now, if Grandma were to discover what had happened, things would be even worse.

"Don't worry. The sedative was not too strong. She should wake up in about thirty minutes."

"Thanks, doctor. And I would appreciate it if you keep this matter to yourself."

The doctor nodded and left quietly but Aiden was not as calm as he seemed to be. Tonight he'd been shaken by the intensity of his own anger at finding his father had tried to harm Serena! That old man had done much more horrible things in the past with any girl he'd dated but the thought of him trying to do any of those things to Serena made his stomach churn. He needed to teach that old man a lesson that he wouldn't forget.
