Whilst the fight was going on, well it would probably be more accurate to call it a slaughter, Ezequiel had no choice but look over the mountain in silence.
At some point in the future he would be able to condense an avatar and look over the fights of his believers but for now he had no way of knowing what went on outside.
After waiting this way for a few minutes, Ezequiel suddenly felt the range his consciousness could cover expand.
The original diameter of about 7km increased by a lot. He could now see everything that was between him and the village as well as the village and its surrounding lands.
At least he could see what was once left of the village.
The houses made of wood were all burned down. The floor was littered with corpses that all had at least one wound that pierced through their body.
‚It seems like the Angels were pretty successful with their task.'
Since his the area that Ezequiel's consciousness covered expanded, it meant that he had completely taken over the territories of the village.
A gods territory would grow when they completely took over a certain area or when all the inhabitants surrendered.
Since they completely killed off all the original inhabitants of the village, it was now considered Ezequiel's territory along with all the land that belonged to it.
Ezequiel was curious about how the fight went down so he once again read the memories of his Angels.
‚Seems like I was in luck. If I hadn't summoned the special Angel two days ago they could have contacted the outside world.'
The Angel of Darkness took on two important roles during the fight. One of them was to directly kill the leader and therefore disabling all communication.
His second role came with the help of one of her abilities.
[Shadow Mark (Mid Spirit)]
[Place a mark inside the shadow of a person to track their location. Only works on people within a distance of 1000 meters. Maximum number of simultaneously active marks: 10.000]
This ability was pretty overpowered, especially if it was combined with the special Angel's concealment skills. It had allowed them to track down the last goblin who would have gotten away otherwise.
Without the help of this ability the boy would have notified the higher ups. This would have meant a lot of trouble for Ezequiel and it was unclear what the consequences of that would be.
Though Ezequiel was confident in the Angels ability to survive or at least flee to the other side of the planet, it would have hindered his progress by a large amount.
With his territory having increased, Ezequiel now fulfilled all the requirements to upgrade the summoning platform.
For Ezequiel the summoning platform was even more important than to other gods.
Lower level species like humans or goblins would only need to summon through the platform until they reached a certain number.
If a god had trillions of humans as believers, then it would be easier and cheaper for them to produce offspring on their own. Even the number would be larger.
High and Peak level races on the other hand needed the summoning platform more since it was harder for them to reproduce. Over time their bloodline would also degenerate which decreased their talent.
The problem was even more apparent for Angels since they didn't even reproduce on their own. Ezequiel still didn't know how they were born naturally. But there had to be a way, otherwise the encyclopedia wouldn't have been able to list them as a species.
This meant that there already existed Angels before him. This also led to further questions forming inside Ezequiel's head.
What would they do when they met him? Would they acknowledge him as their true god or think that he was a fake and maybe even kill him?
‚No use to think about that now. It's not like I can do anything about it anyways.'
With that Ezequiel focused his consciousness on the summoning platform. Instead of choosing to summon further Angels, he instead channeled exactly 200.000 faith points into the platform.
According to what he read online the upgrade would then commence automatically. And it did.
The platform began to increase in size until the radius grew to 150% of its previous size. It now had a diameter of about 15 meters.
Afterwards new runes and lines began to appear on the newly formed part on the platform. The already existing ones also seemed to become slightly more complex.
After a minute the process was finally done. The aura the platform emitted previously got even stronger and felt more divine.
Ezequiel couldn't withstand the suspense and instantly started summoning new Angels. He spend the 1.000 faith points five times in total, until the platform finally notified him that he reached his daily limit.
‚Seems like five is the limit. But that's okay as well. I will be able to summon almost 2.000 Angles a year. Each of them having the capibility to stand at the peak of the universe when they reach their limit.'
Though most peak level species would be able to summon at least 5 individuals a day without even upgrading their platform once, Ezequiel was content nonetheless.
Angels were truly too overpowered. There had to be some balancing mechanism after all.
At the same time a bright light emenated from the platform. Though it wasn't higher in intensity than before, the range it covered was still bigger. Probably due to the number of Angels summoned.
After a few seconds you could see 5 Angels kneeling on the ground. All of them looked normal with 3 of them being men and the other two women.
‚Seems like there's once again no special Angel. I also wonder when I will finally be able to summon one of these higher level Angels that the encyclopedia spoke about.'
Whilst the Angels still knelt on the ground, he inspected their status screens. There weren't really any differences to the normal Angels he already had.
The only thing that stood out to him was that one of the women was a blacksmith and a man was an engraver.
Seeing the profession of the women, Ezequiel suddenly realized that he hadn't even condensed any weapons for his Angels before they set off.
To be fair one had to say that they didn't ask for any either, but that was in the nature of Angels.
They wouldn't ask their god for anything unless they really needed it to fulfill their task. Their only instinct was to serve their lord to their best abilities without asking anything of him.
This could both be a benefit and a risk, since he might oversee some things just like today.
He committed this thought to his mind to look out for things the Angels might need in the future.
For now though he needed to think about his next course of action.
