Attack (2)

Over a forest inside a certain low world you could see five barely recognizable beings fly with a speed that could put any racing car from earth to shame.

The sun had just risen and wasn't too high in the sky, which is why it looked like those beings were trying to fly into it.

Those beings were Ezequiel's Angels. Of course there were actually 6 but the special Angel hid herself with the help of her Darkness affinity.

Since all of them were in the Energy Gathering Realm, they could now fly with speeds of up to 1000 km/h without harming themselfs.

This meant that the distance that previously took them almost 15 minutes to cross, now only took 3.

After a short amount of time, they could already see the silhouette of the goblin village appear at the horizon.

The Angels stopped about a kilometer away from the village and landed on the ground behind a huge rock. The goblins wouldn't be able to spot them this way.

Here they once again went over their plan. Since they acted in the name of their creator, they always do, they had to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

The most important thing for them was to stop all communication the moment they attacked.

According to the intel the special Angel gathered, the way for the village to contact the outside world was through a communication slip.

That is a piece of wood that is engraved with certain runes to allow communication with another slip that was registered beforehand.

The item was always on the village elder, which meant that they would have to take him out as soon as they started.

Inside the „Village of the big Forest", you could see an elderly goblin. He had an height of about 130cm and some white hair coming out of his ears. Though he was old, he didn't look or act weak. He was the strongest goblin in the entire village, having a cultivation of 3rd stage Energy Refinement.

Below him sat about 40 young goblins cross-legged, absorbing spiritual energy. One of the goblin youths looked at the elderly goblin with a hint of longing in his eyes.

‚One day I will be just as strong as him! No one will be able to look down on me anymore.'

The goblin youth with the name Timur was the weakest goblin in the village. He had almost no talent and was basically unable to cultivate. But that would change soon.

When he was inside the forest last week, he swallowed a strange herb that greatly improved his aptitude. He went from being the least to the most talented youth in the village and had hopes of breaking through to the 4th stage of the Energy Refinement realm in the future.

That was considered part of the mid Energy Refinement realm and therefore way stronger than the 3rd stage.

At this moment, Timur, who sat below the stage, eyes closed in meditation, suddenly felt some warm liquid land on his face.

Confused he opened his eyes, only to see the headless corpse of the village elder falling right onto his body. Right behind the corpse he could see a two meter tall creature with dark skin and wings.

In her hand was a sword that seemed to be formed from darkness. On it there were some drops of blood but for some reason they seemed to grow smaller.

Suddenly Timurs instincts started to kick in. He had to flee! Standing up and turning around in the hopes to run, he suddenly saw a scene that came right out of his nightmares.

The huts behind him were burning. Forming a ring of fire that trapped every single goblin inside. As he looked in the sky, an even more horrifying sight waited for him.

Five creatures that looked like the one who killed the village elder, just in white, stood in the air.

Behind them swords made of light condensed in the hundreds and aimed right at the center of the village.

As they started to rain down on the villagers, the weak goblin had to run towards the fire. Yet most of them were pierced by the swords anyways, dropping dead to the ground.

Timur chose to run into the flames just like any other goblin, but instead of aiming for the outside, he ran straight towards one of the houses.

About a year ago, he had dug an escape tunnel in case there was a beast tide. Now that tunnel came in clutch.

As Timur entered the dilapidated house he lived in his entire life, he was greeted by a falling timber. His entire furniture and everything he ever owned was burning down right as he stood there.

At this moment the weight of the situation came crushing down on him. Everyone he knows has been or will be killed. His entire village.

Even though he has been bullied and looked down on in the past, he didn't want them to die. There are even many people that he had positive feelings for.

As a panic attack threatened to form in his chest, he had no other choice than to continue moving through the fire.

It was hot and he felt like he was burning alive. Which wasn't even that far off. The toxic smoke he inhaled burned inside his throat and lungs and wood was falling from the ceiling as he made his way towards the bedroom.

At this moment he finally arrived before the entrance of his secret tunnel. It was hidden under what once was his bed, so he had to use all his power to free it from any rubble.

As Timur entered the tunnel he could still hear the screams of the goblins being killed.

‚I will avenge all of you! No matter what it takes.' He thought with a lot of conviction.

Finally he entered into the dark passageway. He almost hit his head on the ceiling since he has grown compared to when he dug the tunnel.

It was moist and cold air hit his face, a complete contradiction to the heat that the fire emitted.

Whilst Timur walked through the tunnel that was about a kilometer long, he could still hear the screams of the villagers. After about 30 seconds they stopped. Though he didn't know their fate he could guess what happened.

Tears streaming down his face, he continued for what seemed like an eternity for him. His thoughts always flashing back to the goblins and how they died an unjust death. He wanted to cry and scream but he was afraid of alarming the monsters who slaughtered his village.

Finally, he could see some light coming from the end of the tunnel. The exit was located behind a big tree.

Though the trees weren't as densely placed as in the forest further ahead, they were still enough to provide cover with the help of some shrubs.

Looking back at the village, he could see that it was now completely burned down. Not a single goblin could be seen in the vicinity. All of them dead.

„Don't worry, I will avenge all of you." Timur's words were barely audible through his sobs though.

After looking for a short moment, he finally turned his back on the village and continued to walk in the direction of the grand forest. On his mind was only the picture of the evil creatures that had killed all of his relatives.

His next plan was to head in the opposite direction from what the attackers would expect. Afterwards he would walk towards the nearest city to inform them of the invaders that appeared from nowhere.

Timur walked with his head held high. He knew that what he needed to do next was to get stronger and inform the higher-ups of the kingdom.

SPLAT

Felling a pain in his chest, he looked down only to see a sword made out of darkness pierce his chest. As he took his last breath he could only hear the evil creatures hateful but beautiful voice.

„Die, evil heretic! May your sins be washed away in hell." Timur had died without being able to resolve his grievances. He didn't achieve anything of meaning in his life.
