Inside a crudely made stone house, a big goblin sat on a likewise crudely made golden throne.
This stone house was the peak work of goblin artisans and functioned as the palace of the royal family. Goblins were just too bad at architecture.
The, for goblin aesthetics, good looking, middle aged man wore a golden circle on his head. It was probably supposed to be a crown but, well, it lacked a lot of gems and artistic skill.
Below the throne kneeled a female goblin that emitted a large amount of strength, probably about the late stages of the Foundation Establishment Realm, but still paled in comparison to the king.
„WHAT DO YOU MEAN KRAWAKS DIED?" The kings unexpectedly high-pitched voice resounded throughout the throne room. If you could call it that.
„M- My Lord, before h-he died h-he sent us a message th-through the transmission slip. I-I-It simply said ‚Outsiders, they can…' a-and then stopped. I-It s-s-seems like he was overwhelmed and d-defeated very quickly." The voice of the female goblin trembled. She knew that the king had a reputation for being bloodthirsty and short-tempered. Sadly she was chosen to be the bearer of bad news this time.
The king, Karok, suddenly condensed a fireball with a diameter of 10cm. Though it was small in size, for some reason it seemed like it could burn anything it touches to ashes.
Unfortunately for the female goblin before the throne, Karok chose to let out his anger by destroying something. And he wasn't weak.
He had earned his throne through pure strength by killing the previous ruler and simply taking it. This meant that the female didn't have any chance to survive.
At this moment an attentive spectator could probably tell the reason for the low quality of the throne room. The small fireball completely destroyed it. They had long run out of materials to recreate it with a high quality.
Luckily for the guards and everybody else, they had already moved to the end of the room as soon as they heard news of Krawaks' death. Otherwise he and the female goblin wouldn't have been the only ones who died today.
„PREPARE THE ARMY. We will set off in 36 hours and kill those damn otherworlders."
An hour ago, Karok had sent one of the strongest goblin guards under him to investigate a situation where several Foundation Establishment Realm goblins went missing after investigating a missing people case themselves.
Krawaks, who the king had sent to investigate, was a cultivator in the Sea Expansion Realm. Aside from the king himself only 20 others existed inside the whole kingdom. 19 now.
„Inform all kingdoms we have contact with. Even the ones we don't. In case we fail, this world shall not fall into the hands of anyone aside from goblins."
„Also prepare my armor and inform all the Sea Expansion Realm cultivators. If any of them don't show up within 24 hours, I will personally hunt them down and kill them."
The goblins of this planet, which was called Krzrck, meaning Life-giver in goblin language, hated outsiders.
According to an urban legend, a thousand years ago, four-legged creatures with blue skin tried to take over their planet. This was unforgivable for the goblins, since their planet was sacred for them. They were able to hunt down all invaders before they could do anything, but still told the tale for future generations.
Nowadays normal goblins only believed it to be a myth, but the kings of each kingdom knew that it was true. After all Sea Expansion Realm cultivators increased their normal lifespan by 8 times. This meant that for goblins with an average lifespan of 40 years, only about 3 or 4 generations had passed since then.
All the kingdoms had an alliance to help the planet in case of outside threat. They would then forget all their conflicts and focus their efforts on terminating the foreign species.
* * *
36 hours later, tens of thousands of goblin warriors had gathered inside the city of Ktrak. An additional 500 were flying in the air, overlooking the army. Those were cultivators in the Foundation Establishment Realm who gained the ability to fly. But only for a short time, which is why they only took to the sky 5 minutes before they were about to set off.
If you were able to look above the clouds, you would see another 20 goblins flying. They have stood there for several hours now and still don't seem to be exhausted yet.
They are Sea Expansion cultivators. In this realm you focus mainly on liquifying and increasing your spiritual energy until it is as vast as a sea. This means that they can fight for long durations without running out of energy. Simply flying is no issue for them.
At this moment, the largest of the goblins, flying at the forefront of the group, suddenly raised his voice.
„LISTEN UP SOLDIERS!"
All the goblins on the ground were scared and looked into the sky. Until now they hadn't even noted the presence of the goblins further up.
„TODAY IS THE DAY WHERE WE EITHER RID KRZRCK OF IT'S INVADERS OR DIE TRYING."
This message instilled fighting spirit into the hearts of the goblins. Being members of the army they usually fought only to increase the area of their kingdom. Fighting for their planet filled them with a sense of higher purpose.
„SET OFF SOLDIERS!"
Tens of thousands of goblins began marching. Above them over 500 other were flying at the same speed.
The soldiers departed in high spirits, ready to fight the enemy and protect their world. They progressed smoothly and after just a few minutes they passed through an inconspicuous valley.
At this moment, Karok suddenly felt that something was wrong. His instincts, refined by years of fighting, signaled him that there was a huge amount of danger ahead.
He told the rest of the Army to stop as well, but it was already too late.
In the sky above them thousands of light swords of all sizes formed. They were made of yellow light and lacked a handle. It was just a blade that seemed to materialize out of thin air.
Most of them had a length of about a meter, but there were exactly 20 with a size of over 10 meters and a thickness of 1m. Each of those blades aimed for one of the goblins that flew at the highest point.
The forming of the swords only took a third of a second but it was enough for a crippling fear to enter the hearts of all the goblin soldiers on the ground.
As they began to rain down, carnage ensued.
