War against the goblins (1)

As Ezequiel use up an immense amount of Faith Points to condense a blessing, it would generally be very good. As Ezequiel inspected the blessing, he was overjoyed.

Ezequiel never imagined he could be so lucky. Seems like he was unknowingly blessed by a goddess of luck. He would have to thank her when they met one day.

This blessing perfectly fit his normal Angels as well as the Archangels. With their main element of Attack being light, their power would double. With the additional special talent that doubled the effects of every blessing, their attack power would triple in total.

This meant that each Angel could easily take on twice the goblins he estimated. Except for special Angels obviously. They didn't use any light attacks and therefore didn't gain any advantage from the blessing.

As the Angels felt the blessing enter their body, their morale and confidence was boosted to an inestimable amount. They knew that they would definitely win this fight with the help of this blessing.

As soon as the goblins got within a kilometer of the village, the Angels started attacking. Blades of Light, Fire and Darkness formed in the sky, but the majority was made up of light. These light blades were much more intense than the ones that were used in the battle three weeks ago. Due to the blessing their density, speed and destructiveness tripled.

Being light-based, an element known for its high speed, they were already pretty fast, but with the help of the buff and special ability they accelerated so much that even the eyes of the goblin kings couldn't track the flight path of the individual swords.

But the goblins didn't just stand around dumbly either. They gathered into rows and each goblin used either the earth element or pure spiritual energy to form a shield. Most goblins didn't actually have an affinity and those that did mainly had earth.

As the blades collided with the shields the anticipated explosion didn't happen. Instead the swords pierced through the barriers without a problem. After breaking through ten barriers in a row they barely lost half of their energy and continued towards the surprised goblins.

All goblins stood in rows of ten side-to-side. They weren't really the best at warfare. This meant that after the 10 shields came a goblin, who had almost no time to react. Barely blocking the attack with their swords, they weren't able to coat it with energy and it just pierced through. Killing goblin after goblin.

In total each Angel had condensed 100 swords and the death count was devastating. On the ground the death count was the highest since the goblins didn't have enough energy to stop the buffed light blades. Each of the 4.500 light blades created by the 45 Energy Refinement Angels had killed at least 10 goblins.

This meant that almost a tenth of the ground troops on the goblins side had died. Sadly the goblins right above didn't fare much better. After all the 50 Angels who faced them were all in the same realm as them whilst still having combat strength more than a major realm above them.

Of the 5.000 swords more than half of them had reaped the life of a goblin, leaving only 3.000 goblins left to fight. If they hadn't cooperated so well, forming a gigantic wall of shields in front of them, even more would have perished.

The only ones who fared slightly better were the ones standing high in the sky. Since all of them were at least a major realm above the Angels they could somewhat defend the attacks. If it wasn't for the buffs they probably wouldn't have taken any damage, since it is an AOE attack, but due to the strong buff some at the front were wounded badly.

As soon as the attack hit, all the Angels charged forwards with blinding speed, too fast for the eye to see. They could only use the previous attack once due to the high energy consumption, otherwise they would have spammed it until they won.

The goblins who were still dealing with the aftermath of the attack, were taken by surprise and couldn't deal with the fast counterattack, which resulted in the loss of many lifes in the ranks of the Foundation Establishment goblins.

From the way things were developing, the lower two battles were basically in the bag for the Angels. Their opponents were demoralized and scattered. Meanwhile they were forming a formation around the weaker Archangel who gave commands and operated everything in real time.

With the ability to manage a hundred Angels at the same time, he could control both battlefields and brought the teamwork to the next level.

Since the Angels were losing out badly in terms of numbers, they formed a circular formation around the Archangel. On the outer circle the Angels mostly concentrated on casting a shield that actually connected together with the help of the formation.

Behind them the other Angels continuously cast singular swords of light that focused on one enemy instead of a big range of opponents. The barrier had a function that allowed light-based attacks from the inside to pass through and even be strengthened with the help of the energy the barrier contained.

They were basically completely safe, since no goblin had the necessary attack power to breach through the barrier. Even strong Sea Expansion Realm cultivators would struggle with that.

As time continued the barrier didn't show any signs of giving in anytime soon. This was because of the pills the Angels had eaten earlier that caused them to regenerate all their energy way faster.

The goblins who noticed this started panicking. At the moment there were less than 1.500 of them left standing and each second that passed several of them would die.

They wanted to flee, but they knew that if they did, they would be killed by their commanders since they wouldn't be able to breach the entrapping formation.

As their situation got more and more desperate, goblins started blowing up their dantians to release attacks that could equal the Sea Expansion but the barrier continued to stand strong. After all it was basically formed by 30 Sea Expansion Realm cultivators that worked together flawlessly.

Right below them the situation wasn't any better. The Angels who were flying above the Energy Refinement goblins simply had to form a shield below their feet which drastically increased the energy they had left to attack. With every attack one goblin fell, but due to the enormous amount of cannon fodder below it would still take some time for them to take every single one down.
