Chapter Two: Might

Despite the fact that I was made and given the power to run the company for the main time until the return of my husband, I always remember that am in a contract marriage with him. A contract marriage of just six months which I accepted because I had no direction in life.

In the contract, he was to give me $3 million after six months. At least, I would have to use to arrange my life, and lead the kind of life I dreamed of. But as things are currently going, I don't think am ready to back out of the contract marriage.

Was it because of his wealth? No, I doubt. I just think I really need to spend a little time in his life for at least, three years because at the moment, his world has crushed apart. My world also, has been crushed, ever since Kelvin rejected me, over a stranger.

However, I won't try to force or convince him, into extending our marriage agreement but if he wills, I would agree.

 Meanwhile, I was on my way being driven in my car to work, when suddenly, I saw a high flow of traffic jam that really caused unrest on the road. I saw many motorists and some road traffic wardens murmuring but I don't really know what was going on.

Finally, we escaped the traffic, but we discovered that the more we move towards my husband's company, the more the road became tight.

I was surprised to see over 3,000 workers protesting, and all holding boards and carbon sheets with different inscriptions on it. I was wondering what was happening, when one of the police officers who were guiding the company came to inform me that Kelvin was leading a mass protest and revolt against me.

I was not moved by his actions. I just ordered my driver and security men, to clear the way for me to pass, and they did. In fact, if not for the security men, those protesting workers would have possibly attacked my convoy, and do away with it.

''He is protesting because you demoted him yesterday'' Mr. Lugard informed me.

''I see. How many management officials are spearheading this with him?'' I asked.

''Just three, madam'' He responded.

Thirty minutes later, some team of police men, came in, and arrested Kelvin and his cohorts. I should have let them to be free with their activities of protesting, but I don't just want to give my perceived villains any space if not, they would do more hurt to the already collapsing company.

However, when the multitudes of workers saw that their agitating leader has been apprehended, they were left with no option of retrieving back to their day job. In fact, most of them have no clues of what happened, or why I demoted him from his executive position. They must joined in the protest because he influenced their will.

I was very much ready for that day, to the point of me drawing out list of those to be promoted for some executive positions.

I demoted all managing officers of the company, and finally selected different dudes entirely, to head various departments in the company. However, I have different reasons for demoting all managers and leaders of the company but it was mostly, for strategic reasons, and some few reasons best known to me.

''Cling_ Cling'', the companies bell rang. I have given a three days emergency break to all workers, to go home and relax until resumption date. It was time for me to re-shape the company back to its glorious days, and that was exactly what I was doing.

I immediately called my new company executives in a round table meeting, and the company's interest supersedes over our discussion.

I wanted everyone to be up and doing, since I have discovered how 'I don't care' everyone was operating.

We started to formulate laws, and would make sure they were implemented.

''Madam, I discovered that the company is currently owing much debts, but from what I am seeing, I can't really explain how and when we accrued so much of this debts'' Gideon, my new financial manager informed.

''Oh! That's good of you Mr. Gideon. How quick were you able to detect this? I asked in surprise.

''It's currently in our financial records, and it was the first notification that popped up just now'' He clarified.

''We shall loo into such, and soon, we shall be free from those debts'' I said.

While the meeting was still ongoing, I used such opportunity, to call for a review of the company's constitution. Different cases and parameters were raised up against the present one we were using, and it was here that I discovered that the company's constitution was changed just two years ago.

''What's really happening in this company?'' I asked in a frustrating and angry looking voice.

All the new executives turned and started looking at themselves one after the other. Their looks give me a clue that something fishy was going on but from the look out of things, no one was ready to speak out. Not even the new manager ''Mr. Lugard'', was willing to talk.

Thus, it was here that I know that a strong hold was waging war, and controlling the minds of my workers. The feelings of insecurity filled all over me, and the spirit of desperation to conquer every secret enemy around the company, began to grow in me.

This simply means that I can't trust anyone, not even my secretary because, I don't know who is who.

''Any way, I would start the mission of probing all workers of this company, as from next month'' I informed.

''We are right and solidly behind you in this, madam'' Mr. Lugard, the new manager, said to me.

The rest executives nodded their heads in anticipation of my words. Although, I saw fears and something that looks like unbelief in their eyes. They seems not to believe that I would execute the aforementioned and before we close the meeting, the manager Mr. Lugard said,

''I would like to see you in secret madam''. I wondered why.
