(Cassandra)
"Why the hell did you bring me here, Diana?" I asked in an irritated tone. I should have protected my daughter, but I failed.
"Not even a thank you?" Diana asked, making me frown.
"A thank you? You took me away from my daughter! God knows what she's going through right now." I started to pace, frantically trying to use a spell, but it wasn't working.
"I have a barrier in this place, you can't leave unless I command it. Now stop fretting, come look. Amelia is alright, see?" I made my way over to her in a hurry and looked at the crystal ball. Seeing my daughter in a room, lying down on a bed unharmed, I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ok, that's good. Now explain to me as to why I'm here." I said and she nodded her head.
"I know why the king was after you and Amelia. The spell that you cast on him is taking a toll on his body. He killed Athena, yes, and deserves the punishment, but you have to think about your daughter first. You have to break the spell if you want to see her again." Diana explained, but I wasn't going to do that.
"He killed our sister, burnt her alive while she was kicking and screaming. I will show him no mercy!" I shouted, feeling my temper rising.
"I knew you would say that. Yes, as much as I love my dear sister, I also have a niece to think about. The only way out of this is to break the spell, Cassandra. If you keep this up, it will be your daughter who will suffer. She doesn't know that she's a witch, they are using her to break a spell that only you can get rid of. Don't do this to your daughter!" Sighing, I looked down not knowing what to do.
Why should I show any form of remorse towards someone who could easily murder someone else like that? It didn't matter if Athena cheated, She did not deserve such a cruel death.
But, Diana was correct. I could not just allow my daughter to suffer like that. I had to come up with a plan as to what I was going to do.
"You should have let me stay with them if you are so adamant that I break the spell." Diana nodded her head when I said that.
"I should have, yes. But then I wouldn't be able to give you this." My eyes became wide as I saw the book of spells floating toward me. Witches and wizards, even warlocks, would die to have this book. However, here It was in my sister's possession.
"Grandma left it to me before she passed. She said that I would know what to do with it when the time comes, and I have figured it out. No one else knew that I had this book, so I am delivering it to the one that it was meant for." Diana said, leaving me in shock. Grandma had this book? How did she even come to get it in her possession?
"Because I'm giving it to you does not mean it's yours. It belongs to Amelia, that's why I summoned you here before you got captured. You are to find her and give it to her. Most of these spells had never been cast before because of the power they hold. Only Amelia can do that." Diana said, and I nodded my head.
"How do you know so much?" I asked, after making sure that the book was secured.
"Grandma told me, I did not believe it at first, but after trying these spells myself, I found it to be true. This might sound odd, but Amelia is much more powerful than you think. She is a coven-based witch." My mouth fell open after she said that.
"There's no way," I replied, not believing that my daughter could create much more powerful spells, than any other. I shook my head, still in disbelief.
"If you got me here, why didn't you do the same with Amelia?" I asked.
"I tried to, but something was blocking me from getting to her. Something much bigger than you think. I believe that it has to do with her mate, he was either close to her or they had met and she doesn't know it. Either way, her mate's willpower to get to her was much stronger than my spells." Ok, that made sense, I guess.
"I'll go to her then, but I'll need a protective spell and an invisible spell. No one can know that I'm in that castle." Diana agreed with me and helped me conjure one of the biggest spells that would help hide my presence while I helped Amelia.
"Remember to give Alastair what he wants. He won't stop until he gets it. Go, sister, and make sure that you return safely." Nodding my head, I disappeared. I hope that I can pull this off, all I have to do is get the book to Amelia.
I still needed to think, though, because I wasn't sure if I wanted to break the spell that I had cast on Alastair.
Maybe, by the time I get there, my mind will be made up, and everything will go smoothly from now on.
I just hope that I'm making the right decision. I sighed, feeling saddened by the fact that I had allowed my daughter to be mixed up in this.
I tried to keep her safe, to shelter her as much as I could.
But maybe I was wrong about that. I should have told her who she was, I shouldn't have created that spell to stop her from seeing her true self. I just hope that she will be able to forgive me once I tell her the truth.
I did a celebratory dance when I appeared in the room that Amelia was placed in. Knowing that no one else could see me but her, was all that I asked for. I was standing there in the corner watching a fairy tend to her.
I was shocked that Amelia wasn't freaking out by the fairy who was flying around. The majestic appearance came off as peaceful, as her wings gave off a silvery glow that lit up each time they flopped.
After the fairy left, I made my presence known by calling out to Amelia. She turned to me and with widened eyes, she flung herself at me.
I sighed as I embraced my daughter. I didn't know that I would be able to, but this is the moment I will cherish all my life.
"Mother, how did you find me?" Amelia asked after wiping away the last of her tears.
"I always knew where to find you," I said rather lamely, but it got her to laugh.
"You have some explaining to do, Mother; you can't just appear out of nowhere like that. Maybe the king was sane after all." Sighing, I knew that this was to come.
So, I braced myself as I started to explain what was going on.
