THE OFFER

"She is fine, how do you know I have a daughter?" Daniel asked. He was surprised.

"How do I know?" billionaire Jake said. He laughed.

"Yes, how?" Daniel asked. It was getting weird and scary, especially the way billionaire Jake's bodyguard was staring at him.

"My friend, there is a lot of information going around, and I thought you should have known me by now, but oh well, you live in a farmhouse, you don't get as much information as we do, nor visitors. I know you have a daughter, that is all I want you to know," billionaire Jake said.

"So, what are you going to do to her? Have you been spying on me?" Daniel asked, he was scared.

"No, I am not going to hurt her, that is not my thing, I have a child of a similar age though, daughters, aren't they adorable? Yes, you can say I have spied on you but not you actually your farmhouse caught my eye, so as a father to a father, I want to give you something that will better the life of your daughter, like a proper school, all tuition fee has been paid till, university and many more, that accept the offer, remember you are not selling the land, so what do you think about it?" billionaire Jake said.

"I don't know what to say, it is..," Mr. Daniel wanted to say something but billionaire Jake interrupted.

"It is a rare opportunity, my friend, millions of people are dying for such an opportunity I represent to you, do even though, you don't take it think of your daughter, the future you will build for her, think about it?" billionaire Jake said and smiled.

"But I just want to know, what will use the rented space for on the farmland, I just want to know," Daniel said.

"Look, let me make this simple, it is going to be a mini factory, on the farmland, and far away from your main house, the more it remains a secret, the more I pay you. There is no need to know what we produce, just as far it is anonymous, we are good," billionaire Jake said.

"Okay I understand but, how am I going to get started?" Daniel asked if he was now considering the deal.

"Very simple, just by saying yes, and you will just sign some papers, and we are ready to go, or if you are still not sure, I can give you my business card, to call anytime, your choice," billionaire Jake said. He waited for Mr. Daniel to make the final decision.

THE FOLLOWING DAY,

In the sun bright morning, Mr. Daniel, prepared his daughter, Abigail for school, he was in a hurry, like never before.

Abigail noticed it and she asked, "Dad, you are different today, are you still angry with me?".

"No, my princess, I am not… how can be angry with my queen," Daniel said. He escorted her to the table where he kept breakfast.

They both sat down and were about to eat. "So why are you angry? It is the visitor?" Abigail asked.

"Princes, I am not angry at all, not a single bit of anger is in me right now, but I am just stressed, from getting corns ready for today's sale in the market, finish your breakfast, so can drop you off at school," Mr. Daniel said. He continued his breakfast.

"My…my classmates, usually laugh at me, when, you drop me off at school with the pickup truck, because of his dirty it looks, and plus the farm product you have at the back of the carriage, can you drop me somewhere far, so I can work down to school?" Abigail asked, today she wishes to escape the mockery at school.

"Don't worry about what people say about you, just be yourself, at school, anywhere you go, develop yourself and do what you want, just be yourself, okay?" Mr. Daniel said.

"Yes Dad, but will you do what I ask?" Abigail asked. She looked at him, for approval.

"No, because this might be the last time that, they might see you in that pickup truck, because I will make sure things are better for you," Mr. Daniel said. He smiled.

"Thanks, Daddy, and then Mum, will join us right?" Abigail asked. She was smiling.

"Yes. Yes. She will," Mr. Daniel said. He lied to his daughter, just not to make fill hurt in any way.

"Love you, Dad," Abigail said.

"Love you too, come on, you are going to be late," Mr. Daniel said. He urges her to finish her food, so they can be on their way to school.

They both finished their breakfast and were about to leave the the farmhouse, Mr. Daniel going to the market to supply products, while Abigail to school.

Mr. Daniel helped Abigail into the truck, front seat, he put on her seat belt as always. He closed the door and moved over to the driver's side. He held the handle of the door, he stopped and he turned back and he stared at something for some seconds, then he got into the truck and drove off.

Abigail's school, is far from the house, like the main city, but it is a public school. As they approached the driveway, were parents dropped off their children and moved on.

Abigail was afraid, as her father slowed down, the truck gave out a cough from the exhaust, and the springs of the tires a gave sound, obviously due to friction.

That made Abigail fear the more, she sank into the seats of the chair, afraid to raise her head up, she quickly brought out a sweater, although it was not freezing outside, she just wanted to cover her face, as she walked to her class.

"Okay, here we are, come on, you can go to school then," Mr. Daniel said.

"I am dead," Abigail said. She put on her sweater, which has a cap, big enough to cover her face.

"Why did say that? And is that not the sweater that Mum, gave to you, on Christmas Day?" Mr. Daniel questioned his daughter.

"People… I don't like people… I am not that accepted, so the sweater, I'd just be my way of avoiding people's eyes or conversations," Abigail said. She used the cap and she covered her face partially.

Mr. Daniel tried to take off the cap because he found it unnecessary.

"No Dad, stop! I don't want to be laughed at today, so I am going to just be like this throughout, do you know what it means to be the joke of the class? I don't think you do," Abigail said.

"I am so sorry dear," Mr. Daniel said.

"Can I go now? Before they see me," Abigail asked. She was eager to leave the truck.

"Alright, remember, just be yourself, and don't listen to anything they say, alright?" Mr. Daniel said.

"Alright, go… go! Before they see the truck," Abigail said. She came out of the truck without the assistance, of her father.

Abigail bowed her head, as she walked through some fellow students who were dropped off also.

Mr. Daniel blew his truck horn.

That broke the whole silent entrance that Abigail planned. She turned and signed him, "What happened?"

"Just be proud of yourself! And have fun in whatever you do!" Mr. Daniel said with a loud voice.

He drove off.

Abigail quickly disappeared before anyone could recognize her.

Abigail was a bit early, she usually had no one to talk to, she quickly went to her locker and brought out the books that she wanted to use fit for the day.

Abigail noticed some group of girls usually make fun of her, she saw them coming her way. They did not see her because of the hood of the sweater, she got on.

Abigail imagined her fighting them off, and basically killing them, but it was just a thought, and that thought gave Abigail joy and a weird smile as she imagined it.

Abigail noticed that they were getting close to her, and she moved with speed, the hood went down and one of the girls saw her, informing the others, and they went after Abigail.

Abigail started running to class or where a teacher was, they caught up to her and barricaded her.

Abigail was afraid.

"Hello punk!" one of the girls said. That was the nickname, she gave to Abigail.

"Please not today," Abigail begged.

"What is in your bag?" one other girl asked, as she dragged Abigail's school bag from her hand.

She brought out the drawing Abigail did.

"What is this? Is this your family portrait?" the girl asked. Two other girls held Abigail down.

"Please don't touch it," Abigail begged.

"I won't," the girl said.

The girl went ahead and she tore the drawing on the piece of paper two.

"No!!! Mum!!!" Abigail exclaimed.
