Valerie answered after a few rings and her face popped up on Grace's screen. Seeing the worried look on Grace's face, Valerie's calm and collected voice rang. "Grace, what happened?" she asked.

Grace took a deep breath before launching into the story, her voice filled with remorse. "I'm so sorry, Ma'am. Mr. Smith forced me to tell him everything I know about your beef with Zoey. He threatened to pin the attempt on Maya's life on me, so I had no choice."

Valerie's eyes narrowed as she picked up on what Grace said, her grip on the phone tightening. "An attempt on Maya's life? Someone tried to kill her?" she asked, her voice laced with shock and concern.
