Harry and Valerie

Meanwhile, Valerie walked down the street, leaving her grandmother's place behind, only to find herself facing a frustrating reality. She had hoped to hail a cab quickly, but after walking for over ten minutes, the road remained eerily devoid of taxis. It was as if the taxi drivers had collectively decided to take a holiday, leaving her stranded and alone.

Valerie's heels clicked on the pavement as she continued her search, her eyes scanning the horizon for a glimpse of a yellow cab. But the road stretched out before her, empty and unyielding. She checked her watch for what felt like the hundredth time, her anxiety growing with each passing minute. If she continued like this, she would miss the interview. "I really need to get a car," she mused.
