The newly formed Irish MMA team officially announced their roster for the World MMA Tournament on their media platform.
With no entry in the heavyweight division, the team would consist of competitors in three weight classes:
Middleweight: Damon Cross
Lightweight: Collin NcGyver
Flyweight: Demaien Ncguygan
While Ireland had a proud fighting spirit, the country wasn't exactly known for dominating the global MMA scene.
It hadn't produced many prodigies, and its talent pool often struggled to keep up with the powerhouses like the U.S., Brazil, and Russia.
That was why Collin NcGyver's rise had been such a monumental moment for Irish MMA.
His meteoric ascent, capped by becoming the first-ever simultaneous double champion, had put Ireland on the map.
Even now, during his fall from grace, Collin remained a polarizing figure.
