Chapter 8: Race Against Time

Kate's mind raced as she processed the news. The President compromised? It couldn't be.

"What do you mean?" Kate demanded, her grip on her gun tightening.

Alex's expression was grim. "One of the organization's moles has infiltrated the White House. They're planning to strike during the President's speech tonight."

Kate's eyes met Sarah's, and she knew they had to act fast. They quickly hatched a plan, knowing they had only hours to stop the assassination.

As they sped towards the White House, Kate's phone buzzed. It was an unknown number.

"Hello?" Kate answered cautiously.

"Kate, it's your father," the voice said, sending a chill down Kate's spine.

"You're behind this, aren't you?" Kate accused, her anger boiling over.

"I'm just trying to protect this country, Kate," her father replied, his voice cold. "You're too blind to see it."

Kate's grip on the phone tightened. "I'll stop you, Father. Mark my words."

The line went dead, and Kate knew she had to push aside her emotions. She had a job to do.

As they arrived at the White House, Kate and her team sprang into action. They swept the premises, searching for any sign of the mole.

But time was running out. The President's speech was about to begin, and Kate knew they had to act fast.

That's when she spotted him - a suspicious-looking man lurking in the shadows.

Kate's instincts kicked in. She knew she had found the mole.

With seconds to spare, Kate tackled the man to the ground, wresting the gun from his hand.

The President's speech began, and Kate breathed a sigh of relief. They had done it.

But as she looked up, she saw her father standing in the crowd, a smile on his face.

It wasn't over yet.
