The girls had themselves spread out onto the floor while the mac and cheese sat on the table with the snacks and the alcohol bottles on the lounge chairs. Cheers erupted as the girls eagerly waited for Ava to continue with her story.
"I don't know guys Lyron is really cool and amazing in bed but a really whack boyfriend, if anything high school is proof of that."
"But come on Ava what if he has changed, people change all the time right?"
"No no Nicole, people change but the male species never changes, it's like those dumbasses don't have self or personal growth encoded in their DNA."
"True that Tams, that's why I'll just keep him around for when I'm bored or for when I find the one 'dumbass' according to Tammy, that I can actually tolerate and don't feel like murdering every second of the day."
"And he's cool with that arrangement? Wait what am I saying, when is the male species never not cool with getting coochie for free. If they ever had a problem with that, I swear the world would end."
As the girls broke out into more rounds of laughter, Tammy got up to refill everyone's glass, not wanting a single drop to go to waste.
"Alright ladies prepare yourselves to chug down this baby. As you all know, tomorrow night in the borne fire which means that is when our lives here at Cleveland will truly begin. Here is to me, to you barbie and you, village girl, cheers to a new chapter of our lives, a chapter we will ride out till the end, even if I have to drag you rug rats by the ear to be a part of it. Cheers to us bitches!!!"
Rounds of cheers broke out as the girls clicked their glasses together and drained their cups of its liquor. Collapsing back onto the floor in fits of laughter Nicole couldn't help but get a warm fuzzy feeling in the pit of her stomach. Maybe it was all the alcohol Tammy had forced them to drink or maybe just maybe it was a sign of her new future, a sign that she had found her new family far from home, a sign that her bright was starting to get even brighter from here. Maybe for once, she was right when she decided to move far and away from home. She really couldn't remember the last time she felt this much happiness.

"Shit your hair is curlier than I thought, hold on."
Sitting down on Tammy's bedroom carpet, Ava had been busy getting the girls hair done for the borne fire. With only 4 hours remaining Tammy's room and been turned upside down with clothes scattered everywhere, make up products and brushes spread out onto the bed and hair products on all of the bean bags in the room. Ava had started with Tammy's hair first, braiding it in two rows with dark purple hairpieces in it. Then she had done hers with one single braid on the left lower side of her head, with pink hairpieces in it and the rest curled. Now she was busy with Nicoles hair, trying to do three big braids going down her head and putting in light purple hairpiece.
But because she had never done a black girl's head before she had found it a bit challenging which resulting in her taking longer than usual, but because she had claimed to love challenges Nicole had let her fight it out on her head. Anyways, the way Nicole saw it, it was better to have Ava do her hair than to spend hundreds getting it done. Tammy on the other hand had been put in charge of makeup. Looking at her now Nicole had preferred to do her own make up but because she didn't want to offend her newfound friends she had reluctantly given in when Tammy gave her a frown upon initially saying no. Honestly at this point Tammy could get them to commit a heist with her and they wouldn't be able to refuse.
"And done. Look at yourself in mirror, do you like it?"
Looking at the mirror Nicole was honestly impressed, she expected Ava to do a whack job, seeing as it was her first time doing a black person's hair but instead, she exceeded her expectations. Geuss she wasn't your typically blue-eyed dumb blonde, as she had initially thought.
"Nicole, I did my research on South Africa, and I know you are more customed to wearing those traditional beads and stuff, but I got you a jean skirt, a cute purple vest and a jean jacket for tonight. And some white Airforces."
Almost. She almost wasn't your dumb typical blue eyed blonde.
Taking the stuff from her Nicole chose to instead thank her and go about her routine. Learning from her past mistakes with the phone incident, Nicole realized that this was just who Ava was and she wouldn't grow out of it anytime soon. She was thankful for the stuff though but really wondered what white girls had against the white air forces and jean skirt combo. It's almost as if it was part of who they are to white Airforce everything they wore.
Looking at Tammy for some advice, she simply shrugged in a manner of saying she wanted nothing to do with what was going on. Looking back at her own pile of clothes she decided to instead swap out the jean skirt for her own black and white cargo pants and wear the rest of the things that Ava bought. Looking the rest of her mates she saw that Tammy had gone with a pair of black ripped jeans, black knee boots, white vest and black cropped leather jacket. On her wrists she had on two black bracelets and a white Gucci watch. Nice, white girl coded but nice.
Ava on the other hand had on a blue bum short, black crop top and white Airforce's, figures. When Nicole's phone buzzed, showing a message from Charlotte asking whether they were there or not, Tammy pulled out a bottle a Hennesy, daring both the girls to take three three shots each, herself including.
With Ava and Nicole buzzing with excitement for the borne fire tonight, Tammy instead stood by her bedroom window, taking another swing at the bottle. She had a feeling, gut feeling that something was going to go down tonight, problem was she wasn't sure whether it was good or bad, but she knew for a fact that when her gut warned her about something like this it would normally happen to those close to her, and those close to her that were present today were Nicole and Ava only.
Something was going to happen to one of these girls tonight, she wasn't sure who, but she sure wasn't ready to find out.
