Friendship

The police car slowly drove towards the center of Mars City, the scenery outside changing from the dilapidated buildings of the slums to neat streets and modern skyscrapers. Allie looked out the window at this world she had never set foot in, her heart filled with complex emotions. The red-haired girl sitting next to her, however, seemed accustomed to it all and was instead excitedly examining Allie.

She had a head of vibrant red hair like flames, the strands shimmering with golden light in the sun. She had the typical reddish Martian skin tone, her face dotted with playful freckles, and emerald green eyes that sparkled with mischief. She wore a bright, colorful jacket paired with tight jeans and fashionable sneakers, exuding an aura of youthful energy.

"Hey, I'm Fiona Martinez. That move you pulled earlier was so cool! How did you do it?" Fiona asked excitedly, her voice full of energy, like a cheerful little bird.

Allie looked at her with confusion, her silver hair a bit messy from the earlier chaos, her purple eyes revealing a hint of unease. "I... I don't know. I'm Allie Raine," she replied softly.

Fiona grinned, showing a row of white teeth. "Allie, nice to meet you. Your eyes are beautiful, such a rare purple! Are you wearing colored contacts?" She leaned in close to look at Allie's eyes, her nose almost touching Allie's face.

Allie instinctively leaned back a bit. "No, they're natural."

"Wow, really? You're so special, I think I like you already." Fiona fluttered her long eyelashes, happily looking at Allie, her eyes sparkling with sincerity.

At the police station, the two were put in the same detention cell. It was a small space, the walls covered in graffiti and scratches, the air filled with a musty smell. The room only had a hard plank bed and a toilet that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. But Fiona didn't seem to mind the poor environment at all. She lightly jumped onto the hard bed, sitting cross-legged as if she were in her own comfortable bedroom.

"You know, I'm actually from a rich family," Fiona began to talk non-stop about her own story, her hands gesturing in the air, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "My dad is the boss of the biggest mining company on Mars, but I hate that fake high society life. I prefer roaming freely on the streets."

Allie looked at her in surprise. "Why did you risk helping me?"

Fiona shrugged, her red hair swaying gently with her movement. "Because it was the right thing to do. Those cops were going too far, I couldn't stand by and watch." She paused for a moment, her eyes suddenly lighting up. "Oh yeah, do you roller skate too? I saw you wearing roller gear."

Allie nodded, "Yes, I really like roller skating."

"That's awesome!" Fiona said excitedly, jumping off the bed and starting to mimic roller skating movements. "I love roller skating too. You know, I go to a specialized roller skating school here in Mars City. You have to come check it out when we get out of here."

Allie was a bit surprised. "A specialized roller skating school?"

"Yeah," Fiona said proudly, her eyes shining with pride. "It's one of the schools my dad sponsors. We have the most advanced equipment and the best coaches. You'll love it."

Fiona began to describe her roller skating school, her voice full of enthusiasm. "The school has a huge indoor skating rink with a specially made high-tech surface that can simulate various terrains. There's also an outdoor extreme track with all kinds of obstacles and jumps. It's like a roller skater's paradise!"

Allie nodded with a smile, starting to like this lively and cheerful girl. They began to share their roller skating experiences, discussing techniques and equipment. Time flew by as they talked, and Allie almost forgot she was in a detention cell.

Fiona started to recount some of her amusing stories. "One time, I was practicing a new move on the school's extreme track and accidentally flew off the course, straight through the principal's office window!" She laughed. "You should have seen the principal's face, he looked like he'd seen a ghost. Ever since then, he instinctively checks the windows every time he sees me."

Allie couldn't help but laugh. It had been a long time since she had laughed so heartily.

Fiona continued, "Oh, and another time, I organized an illegal roller skating competition in the city center plaza. We turned the whole square into a race track and even set up a jump ramp on the fountain. When the police came, we all scattered in different directions. It was such a spectacular scene!"

Allie looked at her in surprise. "Didn't you get caught?"

Fiona winked mischievously. "Of course not. I'm the queen of roller skating, no one can catch me."

Then, Fiona began to describe some of the competitions she had participated in. "Last year's Phobos Roller Skating Championship, now that was a real challenge. The track was set on the surface of Phobos, and we had to skate in specially designed spacesuits. Can you imagine what it feels like to skate in a low-gravity environment? It's like flying!"

Allie listened, fascinated. She had never imagined there could be so many ways to enjoy roller skating.

"So, what about you?" Fiona suddenly asked. "How did you end up here? I mean, where's your family?"

Allie's smile faded, and she lowered her head. "I... I'm an orphan. My parents died when I was very young. I grew up in the slums, always living on my own." Allie fabricated a history. Her childhood memories were very vague, only recalling a few images: her mother's blurred gentle voice, her father's call, a noisy crowd, and seemingly a little girl laughing happily...

Fiona's expression turned serious, and she gently held Allie's hand. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked that."

Then, Fiona's eyes lit up again. "But Allie, you're amazing. Living alone in the slums, that's so cool!"

Allie laughed, it was the first time someone thought her life was cool. She looked up, her purple eyes shining with strength.

"This is my life. Although there are many difficulties, roller skating has given me hope and a goal. I've always dreamed of becoming an excellent roller skater one day."

Fiona grabbed Allie's hand enthusiastically, saying, "You must come to my school! I can arrange the best training for you."

Just then, a police officer came to the detention cell door. "Fiona Martinez, someone's here to bail you out."
