Night had fallen, and the neon lights of Olympus City adorned the entire city like a dreamscape. Allie walked towards the dormitory with mixed feelings. From afar, she could see a silver-gray luxury spacecraft parked by the roadside. Its streamlined design and smooth surface reflected the surrounding lights, making it particularly eye-catching and drawing countless side glances and gasps from passersby.
Ryan leaned against the spacecraft with his arms crossed, watching Allie slowly approach. Today he wore a well-tailored dark gray suit, looking exceptionally tall and distinguished even in the night. As Allie drew near, she could feel the curious glances from the surrounding crowd.
Ryan was nearly two heads taller than Allie. He looked down at her eyes, suddenly raising one hand with the silver bracelet dangling from his finger.
"It seems you don't like it much?" Ryan raised an eyebrow, "800,000 gold? Hmm?" He was a bit angry.
Allie's palms were sweating, and she lowered her head, not knowing what to say.
"I, I didn't want to sell it, but I had no money for tuition..." Allie could only tell the truth, although it was hard to admit.
"Tuition? Didn't Fiona help you sort that out?" Ryan questioned. Although Fiona seemed carefree, she was actually very attentive to details.
"No, no, no, Fiona helped me apply for a full scholarship. It didn't understand the situation and sold it in advance... I really didn't want to do this..."
"Alright, I understand. No need to explain further. Give me your left hand," Ryan said in a commanding tone.
Allie extended her left hand, and Ryan gently slipped the bracelet onto Allie's slender wrist. The bracelet automatically adjusted to fit Allie's curve, resting on her pulse point. Seeing the familiar bracelet back, Allie felt relieved but also a bit guilty. "I'm sorry, Mr. Waters. I was too rash."
Ryan looked down at Allie, his tone softening a bit, "Allie, this is not an ordinary bracelet. There are only two in the whole world, and they're not in mass production yet. They are specially designed and manufactured. I hope you use it well and let it demonstrate its value."
"I know I was wrong, I'm really sorry," Allie looked up at Ryan, her purple eyes misting over, looking as pitiful as a small dog.
Ryan's expression softened slightly. "I understand your situation, but next time if you encounter difficulties, you should come to me directly. Don't do such risky things again, understand?"
Allie nodded, "I understand. Thank you, Mr. Waters."
Ryan sighed, "Alright, let's put this matter to rest. Goodbye, Allie."
The spacecraft zoomed away with a strong gust of air, quickly disappearing into the night sky.
Allie breathed a sigh of relief, "Mr. Waters is really not someone to be trifled with."
---
When Allie returned to the dormitory, it was already late at night. She gently pushed open the door, only to find that Fiona was still awake, sitting on the sofa waiting for her.
"Allie!" Fiona jumped up, her green eyes sparkling with excitement, "Quick, tell me, what did Ryan want?"
Allie smiled awkwardly, "Nothing special, just some personal matters."
Fiona raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile on her face, "Personal matters? In the middle of the night? Wow, Allie, is there something going on between you and Ryan that I don't know about?"
"What? No!" Allie waved her hands hurriedly, a blush rising to her cheeks, "Don't get the wrong idea. Ryan is just... just a friend."
"A friend?" Fiona's smile became even more suggestive, "A friend who comes to find you in the middle of the night in a luxury spacecraft? Allie, you're really keeping secrets from me."
Allie sighed helplessly, "It's really not what you think. Ryan... he just came to return something to me."
"Oh? What's so important that he had to return it in the middle of the night?" Fiona pressed.
Allie hesitated for a , but finally decided to tell the truth, "It's a bracelet. I... accidentally lost it earlier, and Ryan helped me find it."
Fiona stared at Allie's hand, "A bracelet? Is it the silver one you're wearing?"
Allie nodded, "Yes, that's the one."
"Wow, that bracelet seems to have quite a background," Fiona rolled her eyes, "I remember it's a cutting-edge high-tech product from Ryan's company. I heard the new model is specially designed for athletes. Is this that new model? Ryan is too much, giving you this so late at night, and only to you. Why didn't he give me one?"
Fiona pouted and complained.
Allie awkwardly covered the bracelet, "Do you want to use it instead?"
"Forget it, forced melons aren't sweet. I don't care for it."
Fiona suddenly leaned in mysteriously close to Allie, "Actually, I know some interesting things about Ryan. Do you want to hear?"
Allie looked at Fiona curiously.
"You know, although Ryan is handsome and rich, he's actually a super workaholic," Fiona lowered her voice, "He once had a girlfriend, a distant relative of mine. She was a famous star on Mars, super beautiful and elegant. Once, I happened to overhear them arguing. The girl was crying and saying,
'We've been dating for months, and I've only seen you twice. How busy are you? We might as well break up!'
'Fine, as you wish.'
And then they broke up. That actress cried all afternoon. Oh, it was such a pity, such a waste. What a shame!"
"And," Fiona continued, "Once, his company prepared a huge cake and dinner party for his birthday. Guess what? He directly scolded everyone and canceled all activities."
Allie shook her head, feeling both helpless and amused, "He really... doesn't know how to enjoy life, does he?"
"Yeah," Fiona sighed, "That's why I find it strange that he would put down his work and come out in the middle of the night for you. Allie, are you sure you don't have any special feelings for him?"
Allie looked at Fiona seriously, "Really, I don't, Fiona. I don't like his type."
Fiona shrugged, "Alright, if you say so. But I still think you must hold a special place in Ryan's heart. By the way, what type do you like? Should I help you look around?"
"I don't know, and I don't want to. I only want to focus on roller skating right now."
What was Ryan to her? She couldn't quite figure it out herself.
"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore," Fiona yawned, "It's getting late, we should go to sleep. We have early training tomorrow."
Allie nodded, "You're right. Good night, Fiona."
"Good night, Allie."
The next morning, Allie and Fiona went to the training ground together.
On the training ground, Coach Jackson was leading the team members in warm-up exercises. He nodded as he saw Allie and Fiona approaching. "Allie, Fiona, we have a special activity today. We're going to observe a professional roller skating competition."
A glint of excitement flashed in Allie's eyes. "Really? That's great!"
Fiona smiled and said, "This is a rare opportunity. We must learn well."
The competition venue was a magnificent stadium, brightly lit inside, with every seat in the audience already filled. Allie and her teammates found their reserved seats, waiting nervously and expectantly for the competition to begin.
With a burst of stirring music, the competition officially began. Allie held her breath, her eyes fixed on the arena. The competitors shot out from the starting line like arrows, racing on the complex track. Their movements were fluid, every turn and acceleration precise to the extreme.
Allie felt her heart rate quicken with the rhythm of the competitors. She saw one skater make a high-speed turn, their body almost parallel to the ground, yet still maintaining perfect balance. Another skater completed a complex flip in the air, drawing cheers from the audience.
"It's incredible," Allie said softly, her eyes sparkling with admiration.
Fiona nodded with a smile, "This is the level of top athletes. Every move they make is carefully calculated and practiced countless times."
As the competition reached its climax, the leading skaters began an intense battle. Allie held her breath, watching them compete fiercely in the last turn. Finally, a skater in a red racing suit crossed the finish line first by a narrow margin.
The entire venue erupted in thunderous applause. Allie couldn't help but stand up and applaud enthusiastically. She felt her blood boiling, a fierce fire igniting in her heart.
"One day, I'll stand in that arena too," Allie said firmly, her eyes shining with determination.
Fiona looked at Allie, a smile of satisfaction on her face. "I believe you can do it, Allie. As long as you keep working hard, your dreams will surely come true."
After the competition, Allie's emotions remained unsettled for a long time. Back in the dormitory, she lay on her bed, replaying scenes from the competition in her mind. She closed her eyes, almost feeling as if she was racing in that arena herself, feeling the wind whistling past and the joy of victory.
"I must become a top roller skater," Allie silently vowed in her heart, "I want to show everyone that even someone from a humble background can stand on the world stage."
